despite his age , at 140 Pacman wins. too much power, and the weight advantage would be insane. Pac isn't what he used to be but he's still a major threat
I dont think it has anything to do with him not being American.
If he was a naturally bigger fighter (weight wise) then he would draw more. Casual fans are more drawn to 147+
To be honest, I am a little surprised at the people celebrating the win and giving huge props to Loma. Do not get me wrong, it was a good fight, but I personally expected more from the so-called #1 P4P boxer in the world. Linares not only held his own, but also made Loma look ordinary and outboxed him on a number of occasions. The best boxer on the planet should not be struggling so much against a 7-to-1 underdog.
Perhaps Loma is not as good as his hype would suggest? Or maybe Linares is better than he is given credit for? What do you gentlemen think?
Linares is a great fighter. clearly the odds didn't match the potential & I dont think you're giving him enough props. It's only the second time Loma has been dropped in the whole of his fighting career apparently - pro and amateur.
I think "struggling" is the wrong terminology. Loma was fighting a welterweight tonight
Danny Garcia would land a no look left hook on Loma and it would be GG :sad6:
but in all seriousness, after seeing Loma get handled by MF Orlando Salido what makes you think he could handle getting bullied by older guys?
Its like when Canelo lost to Mayweather, ever since Canelo has been exposed by slicker guys. You cant lose some habits (btw i am NOT COMPARING ANY OF THESE FIGHTERS)
Then name all the gold medalists and amateur greats that fought a top 3 fighter in their second pro fight and had two world titles by their 7th fight. if it was that easy for so called non-novices in their first few pro fights, then there would be tons of fighters making history in such little time as a pro, which obviously there are not. So if it is that easy and you think there are many who accomplished that feat, then I'll be waiting for that list from you. Ready to produce it? 1-2-3 go!!
You want to know why you dont see it ? PROMOTORS
Wins and losses mean so much these days, fighters aren't thrown out there without having padded records. You should know better.
didn't even get to the end of the thread and people are still discrediting mayweather.
Mayweather has great footwork, Loma's is flashier.
Loma lost , mayweather never did. /s
also people need to stop with this race ****, but it is true. However, over here in the UK this **** could never fly, if you can fight you can fight and the whole country will get behind you. America need to get with the times. Shi* the whole of the US got behind Mcgregor to lose. Remember when none of you were behind your boy Tim Bradley and rode Pac-man?
GG
What's funny is that Lomachenko as an athlete, human being, and person has triggered you beyond belief.
You will stay mad, and I will be laughing all the way through Lomachenkos career dominance.
It really has nothing to do with floyd mayweather cherry picking weak ass, OR RACISM
Loma has only fought shot fighters. No one in their prime. That is cherry picking. jump off his dick and see the bigger picture for a minute.
I respect Floyd’s hustle.. im not hating on any man getting money.
I just dont give a fuk really about another man’s money though. Im too worried about mine.
Fax........
Def not a gimmick. You can't lie about ppv numbers and how much they generate. We know Loma got 1 million to fight rigo .. how many higher profile defences did flloyd make?
Plus he had his own promotor company. He gets a bigger percentage.
Its a weird question to ask imo. $2000 is a lot of money to me. Maidana made enough to retire off two fights with Mayweather , would you question his wealth too?
Edit - 50million is a lot of money and if you were to question his earning you would have to question every other athlete which has been posted on the Forbes richest list , every music artist and performer too. Why just flloyd ? If it turned out Forbes mag was not a reliable source or for example Dana White , the UFC , football teams etc lied about income , do you know the kind of legal complications this would have? Transparency is key to a business' success
remind him what the **** he actually defected for and why he got his gold medals made into a mother ****ing grill. slapped him in his face and recited back the tweet where he said he wouldnt quit like walters did.
Loma is still one of the best, I can't believe im in a boxing forum and im seeing people think that this erases all of his achievements.
He went into the fight verbally saying he would not quit.. quit during the fight,, something was wrong. whether he was outclassed or not
Im fairly sure he hurt it hitting Lomas elbow when throwing to the body.
If you watch mid way though there is a point where he considering throwing the shot again, then stops halfway through and abandons the punch after that.
I agree with this
True. Rigo might be hurt last night. IDK. Was he really injured?
I watched the fight back a few hours ago, he did seem extremely tentative after the first/second round. weird look on his face. no longer relaxed and not planted.
From then onwards i'm sure i only saw him throw one significant left hand until the end of the fight.
I don't know if Rigo would've been stopped. I didn't see many big shots being landed. He seemed completely unwilling to do anything however.
Rigos performance was just strange.
The only person I completely cannot stand quitting is Victor Ortiz, so much potential gone to waste.
