Since you hold this loss against Loma I would like you to name me a single fighter in history around featherweight who would be able to do better against Salido than Loma did in similar circumstances.
For example does Floyd Mayweather from the Reggie Sanders fight (his second pro fight) beat Salido in a 12 round fight?

Mayweather lost a round against a 1-1 nobody LOL. He would get smashed by Salidoe. He left a lot of openings that a veteran like Salido would easily exploit. I got Salido by TKO5.
People don't give enough credit to Loma for his performance against Salido in his SECOND pro fight.
I'm not the boxing encyclopedia on feet but it's apparent that the olympics who turn pro do great. No, how many fighters before their 10th fight win two world titles in two different divisions?
In the words of Max Kellerman (probably your favorite commentator), he wasn't a 12 round fighter.
Lomachenko was a 1-0 novice in the pro game.
Do you believe he was the underdog? It's OK to lose vs Salido, a great warrior, all I say Loma wasn't no novice or noob. I'm not like other idiots here who belittle Loma for losing to Salido or any fighter. It's part of competition, I don't care if my fighter wins or loses. I just made a simple statement and ppl assume I'm a black lover Loma heater or Loma lover racist.
I dont see anyting wrong with Loma's losing to Salido in his debut or 30th fight.
Then name all the gold medalists and amateur greats that fought a top 3 fighter in their second pro fight and had two world titles by their 7th fight. if it was that easy for so called non-novices in their first few pro fights, then there would be tons of fighters making history in such little time as a pro, which obviously there are not. So if it is that easy and you think there are many who accomplished that feat, then I'll be waiting for that list from you. Ready to produce it? 1-2-3 go!!

You want to know why you dont see it ? PROMOTORS
Wins and losses mean so much these days, fighters aren't thrown out there without having padded records. You should know better.Thats what makes Lom such an exceptional fighter! He demanded a title fight from Arum for his second pro fight and got it. I doubt any fighter has been able to secure such a milestone fight in their second pro fight.
I can name plenty that would beat him at the age of 28. Why do people think the pro fight count of Loma is so significant? He had a lot more boxing experience than most pro's do at that age. :lol1:
Age doesn't matter, going from 3 rounds to 12 is a big difference

You can't just act like Lomachenko was a novice vs Salido. Then name all the gold medalists and amateur greats that fought a top 3 fighter in their second pro fight and had two world titles by their 7th fight. if it was that easy for so called non-novices in their first few pro fights, then there would be tons of fighters making history in such little time as a pro, which obviously there are not. terrible example man, Floyd was 19..Loma was a fully grown man
Salidoe was a +400 point underdog. Love the fanboys pretending Arum threw Loma to the wolves when the truth is the fight was a cherry gone wrong. Loma was supposed to beat Salido and look good doing it, gtfo with this "second fight" bull****
Or they just accept that it happened and move on and dont let it affect their lives.
Look it doesnt matter that lomachenko lost to salido, Lomachenko career will be 10x more luxurious than Saldio's was. Dont let it ruin your life, its not ruining Lomachenko's.
I agree with this. People on both sides get hung up on the fight.
I don't think the loss needs much defending.
He lost a close 12 round decision in his second pro fight to a hard as hell, wily veteran champion who outweighed him and was essentially given a free pass by the ref to low blow and headbutt him all night. He also finished the fight beating on the old champ and chasing him around the ring.
Anyone who brings up Salido as an example as to why Loma is not so great is either trolling, stupid, or hasn't actually seen the fight.
(even tho he had 6 fights with World Series of boxing)
What World Series of boxing have to do with all of this? It's closer to amateurs than pro
Second pro fight is irrelevant
Every boxer, especially with amateur background, need to taste full distance against softer competition before taking any challenges. If you say that full distance fight is irrelevant for anybody who's only had 5 rounds before (WSB fights) then boxing is probably not for you
lol.
So you created this thread to what? down play lomachenkos lost?
Salido is a hard mother****er to beat, stop looking at the lost on lomachenko record like a black eye etc and look at it for what it is he got beat by the bigger, stronger, more experience, and hard to beat salido.
Lomachenko lost to salido deal with it.
Alot of fighters would lose to salido in their second fight.
But he missed weight, outweighed him 15 pounds, fouled him 100 times and still almost got knocked out in the 12th.
Anyone who gives Salido ANY credit, and doesn’t COMPLETELY excuse Lomachenko for losing under those circumstances is either
A) A mikey Garcia fan
B) a mexican
C) or a casual
