Keep in mind that Golovkin has said he'd go to 168 for a Chavez Jr fight. If he's willing to go to that weight class then why not go there for Ward as well? Great point ^^^ Maybe the most intriguing "boxing" match out there... I lean towards Ward, because of level of competition. However, inactivity isn't a good thing. I don't think this fight will happen for two reasons and it has nothing to do with the fighters... GGG's promoters haven't drained the well enough and will stay down to win at least three easier fights unless Chavez JR and Cotto become available. Ward has promoter issues - period. He has been the most vocal about fighting GGG - Seems very confident. GGG on the other hand doesn't seem to mention Ward enough for people to actually think he wants the fight at this time. Mo

I'm a very big fan of PBF the boxer...but unlike many fanboys of PBF and PAC... This is a horrible fight! Way worse than the Pac/Mosley (which is still a garbage fight - no matter the hype - Mosely is no longer game - He's only a name with a punchers chance). Only fights that make sense for PBF are Pac, Martinez, Berto or the (Khan/Bradley winner)... With that being said Pac should be fighting any of those fighters I just mentioned... That's great the two so-called best in the sport are fighting washed up bums! I'm not even a big Martinez fan but dude has been challenging himself for the past couple of years - I guess he's truly the new Pound for Pound. What's up Pac fans...I told myself months ago that I'd back off of the May/Pac stuff...but appears that I just can't resist getting re-engaged. Hopefully I can get some intelligent back and forth... My question...Why is it so important to FIRST have evidence BEFORE Pac can even be SUSPECTED of PED use? ...and as a followup - Hasn't there been adequate evidence to imply that he might POSSIBLY be on some type of PED - Based on his, Roach, Ariza and Arum's responses to taking or not taking the OST's? I can understand the outrage when he is outright accused of being GUILTY - BTW...I agree that he is innocent UNTIL proven guilty - but the level of outrage because he was simply asked to take tests, is very hard to understand. I don't think any boxer is above being asked to take the tests and when they've changed their position as many times as Pac and his his team has, it's hard to give them the benefit of the doubt. Assuming and suspecting are fine, but convicting with no proof is absurd. Im curious what you think of the very first post in this thread. Roach is being tried and convicted in a court of public lies in relation to what I responded to. It was said that he trained 10 fighters who have failed tests. I've dismissed 6 of them with facts and nobody is answering about the rest. What are your thoughts on that? In regards to this thread...Other than James Toney - Who happens to be one of my all-time faves...The list is mis-leading at best...It implies that Roach is directly aligned with steroid using athletes, therefore Pac must be a steroid using athlete...Which is wrong on so many levels...Those athletes might have steroid abusing backgrounds but I highly doubt that Roach advised them to use of PEDS as his means of getting prepared to fight... Roach was aware of Toney's steroid use but claimed it was used for some medical reason...The sketchy part about that is the type of steroid that was used - STANZABOL (SP). To stay on point...The Roach/Toney/Steroid association in an of itself isn't enough to warrant Pac taking the random OST's but that along with Pac, Ariza and Arums statements regarding whether or not to take the tests make him look very suspect in the very least... ...and unfourtunately for Pac it's a very slippery slope from supect to guilty... I knew Paul needed a new trainer after Matinez not because he lost, but because Peterson basically said he did nothing wrong and it was a lucky shot by Sergio. Max Kellerman asked him during the fight why he wasn't making adjustments for Paul to not get hit with the same punch over and over and Peterson had no intellegent answer. This coming from a big PWill fan... I didnt watch the fight live - I took wifey to go see Horrible Bosses... Funny movie - but I digress. Came back him turned on the TiVo to watch my dude PWill... After the ninth round I turned it off because I was so disappointed in PWills coaching ability... I mean come on??? Does this dude know anything about boxing??? So sad, PWill with a solid coach, could have been really special... I had him losing the fight after nine rounds 7/2 and that was onl because Lara took those rounds off. Hope this fight lives up to the hype...

PAC is catching all of this grief because he's suppose to be an all-time great... And when you couple all off this with the lackluster fights, that most boxing scribes, boxers, oddsmakers, his own coach and the majority of boxing fans (PAC fans included) had him picked as easily winning. ...and YES, it's his fault... He's far from this naive humble character that he portrays himself as. He knows perfectly well what he's been doing... And it's cool... He's getting paid, really paid... He's growing his brand... He's avoiding real challenges and people have grown tired of it... It really has zero to do with PBF... PAC could have shut him up a long time ago... But "HE" chose not to... Plain and simple...simple and plain... "HE" chose not to... There are real challenges that he could have taken, they might not have brought the money and whether he lost or not he would have been showered the accolades... Fighting Martinez for even if he lost he would have come out on top... And it would have forced PBF to fight Martinez or everyone would have called him a coward because the little man did and he didn't try... But if he would have won!!! OMG... He would have become friggin immortal. If I were fortunate enough to advise him, Id tell him to hold a news conference, drop the court case, call out martinez agree to test and say screw you PBF... Because I think PBF will only fight once per year not because he's scared but because he doesn't want to pay to much in taxes... And plus, PBf has mega fight options for the next two years - Khan @ 147 in the UK in 2012 (I've been watching them line this fight up for some time now) and Saul Alvarez in 2013 @ 154. Just a hunch and both of those fights would allow PBF to get a 50 million dollar paycheck.

I was around and watched all those fights... And I can tell you that PBF and PAC are more media sensations than what those (Duran, SRL & Hearns) guys were... They were bonafide ATG's, no question, who individually wanted, without question, to challenge one another. And when they did face each other. You had boxing scribes and odds makers trying to figure out who'd win... And great arguments were made for both sides. When SRL and Hagler fought one another this was more of a fight that was made to generate money, a makeup fight if you will, many had wished SRL would have faced him years earlier, before the eye injury caused by Hearns... And although the majority of people wanted SRL to win the majority of boxing scribes and odds makers thug Hagler would destroy SRL... The PBF vs PAC fight is seeming more and more like an overhyped oversold fight between two overly cautious fighters...because the "majority" of non-Pac fans believe PBF wins... I'm talking mainly about boxing scribes, odds makers and professional boxers. They need challenges where the outcome is already - for the most part a determined. Whomever between them challenges and defeats Sergio Martinez at 154 - will in my opinion be go down as an ATG... Without it, there will be valid questions about their final place in history.

I've read a few responses stating that since PBF couldn't get JMM, Shane, Zab, ODLH, etc outta there (via KO)...how is he going to get PAC outta there or punish him...Two points...Before he fought those mentioned above the prevailing thought was, they were going walk through his perceived weak punching power, jump all over him like a whirlwind and he would eventually give in to the onslaught...The problem is after eating lead rights and counter lefts and rights for an entire rounds while never seeming to land an equal amount of punishment on him, they all went into survival mode or in Zabs case went low...These were all smart boxers who, with no answers were relegated to waiting for PBF to make a mistake and pretty much werer all resigned to losing and not getting KO'd or taking unnecessary punishment... On the other hand you have your warrior type boxers, like Gatti and Hatton...You know, the I can take more punishment than you type fighter and it ultimately cost them both and in Hattons case, in even quicker fashion against Pac...I classify these boxers as your Banzai type...Pure blood and guts warriors...If Pac fights like this, he will get F@ckin destroyed...The scary part is I think he's going to attempt to fight like this and people are going to be really shocked by the outcome...Remember Pac was put on wobbly legs by JMM in ther second fight (so, he can be KO'd) and was touched consistently by not only JMM but Morales and Clottey (When he let his hands go)...And I'll go out on a limb and say that PBF is 10 X's the boxer that those guys are. One caveat...I recently mentioned this to a couple of friends of mine...Like in PBF's most recent fight with Shane...Pac has a punchers chance and we almost saw the KO happen in round two against Shane...I enjoy watching Pac fight but I just don't see him as having anything more than a punchers chance. Without question...if he were to beat PBF at 147 - and unfortunately he has to take the tests...this would erase all doubt... Then beat Martinez at 154!!! Holy sh!t!!! Now those would be some Epic fights!!! If not #1... On the Mt. Rushmore for sure. This is what I'd expect in an ATG... Let me be clear, and "fortunately" for us, PBF must now fight Martinez before his career ends or it will be incomplete...because if Pac must fight him to secure his place among the all time greats, so should PBF. This thread is hilarious... Manny can make 140, hell, he can make 135... Everyone knows why,... He will not take any risk that will risk his chance at mayweather... The last time he was in a fight with someone that most boxing scribes thought had a legit shot at beating him was ODLH... But no one thought Oscar would be that drained... I can't think of one fighter at 147 that couldn't have beat Oscar that night. Since then, He's been the heavy betting favorite and the overwhelming pick by boxing scribes. The problem here is, now Mannys promoter, his coach, advisors, etc are "claiming" that Manny is an ATG... Soooo, if you've been "dominating" every opponent since ODLH and aren't facing opponents who "most" boxing scribes, oddsmakers and non-fans believe can win ...and are being called an ATG! Well, then you have to challenge yourself by facing an opponent that most people will believe has a shot to win... To further make my point... JMM does not have a legit chance to win - most boxing scribes, oddsmakers, non-fans and belive it or not some PAC fans believe this. Peace Mo!

Both fighters are certainly guilty in certain respects as to who they've fought recently, they can only fight each other at this point. It depends on how you look at it. Mayweather- took on Mosley coming off an impressive KO win against Antonio Margarito...but he was coming off a long layoff (Mosley). Took on Juan Manuel Marquez coming off of an incredible war ending in a TKO against Juan Diaz. However, Marquez had never fought above 135 and moved up to 144 with Mayweather paying a fine for coming in two pounds above the contracted weight. Took on Ricky Hatton coming off an impressive one punch KO of Jose Luis Castillo. However, some people say that wasn't the Castillo of old, and impressive as Hatton's undefeated record was, many believed he would be outclassed by Mayweather. Add to that, Hatton would move up to 147. Took on Oscar coming off of a TKO victory against Mayorga. Floyd moved up in weight, used Oscar's 10 ounce gloves...still beat him. However, many say that Oscar should've been beaten rather easily considering that he wasn't ranked in the top 10 at the time in pound for pound rankings nor 154 (other than the title he took from an awkward Mayorga). Let's look at Pacquiao's last four opponents (something good, something bad) PACQUIAO Took on Margarito at a catchweight of 150, Pacquiao had never fought at that weight before. Margarito looked pedestrian against Garcia, but we wondered whether it was just the long layoff that had to do with his performance. Took on Clottey- considered a fighter who had no known weaknesses as Cotto, Hatton, drained Oscar, etc. However, Clottey's good defense turned out to be his downfall. Took on Cotto at a catchweight of 145, got pummeled in the first four rounds, but made Cotto wilt throughout the fight. Impressive victory no matter how you slice it. Took on Hatton at 140, Ricky Hatton was the lineal champ and had never fought at that weight class. Against a world class fighter like Pacquiao, you MUST have defense, something Ricky surely lacked. It's all relative really. Do you focus on Mayweather's pros in his victories, or his cons? Are you in awe of Pacquiao's KO streak, or do you question whether they're handpicked opponents? Out of Mayweather's last four victories- I'd say Mosley was his best one. People were actually giving Mosley a decent chance to beat him considering his victory. Some people saw that Mosley would be affected by the layoff, but you can't deny that he was being pegged as Mayweather's downfall. Another thing, the fight gave Mayweather haters something to salivate over in the second round, where the world stood up as Mayweather was vulnerable as anyone could ever be after taking on one of Mosley's best punches and wobbling from it. He showed he had heart, adaptability, speed was still there, and composure all throughout the fight. The fact is, if anyone gave Mosley a good shot at beating Mayweather, then credit should be given where credit is due. If you never saw Mosley as a legitimate opponent, then give Mayweather some credit...it was still impressive against a 147 pounder. Out of Pacquiao's last four victories- I'm not sure which one was the most impressive. I guess it'd be easy to say Margarito since we're still high on that brutality. Do you pick the beating of 12 rounds over Margarito? The clear victory of Pac over Clottey (Clottey had never been clearly beat before)? Stopping Cotto in the twelfth? Ricky Hatton's one punch knockout? Too many to choose from, but considering what they were considered at the time, the fight, and the result...I don't know. Great fight...lots of drama...Maidana had to come back from a beautifully thrown and landed body shot from Khan...and Khan had to hang on for dear life after being rocked during the latter half of the fight... This was a throwback fight only thing missing was rounds 13-15 (Which I believe Maidana would have won). Khan used a lot of boxing skill and Maidana showed that classic toughness...Great fight. If Pac would have sent in a contract with 60/40 or possibly 55/45 in favor of PBF plus OSDT up to te fight they'd be fighting on November 13...but it appears in this thread that if he chooses to fight PWill or Sergio at 154 he's somehow scared of Pac??? I would say both of those fights at 154 are WAAAAY better than Pac fighting Marg/Cotto/Yuri at 151. Pac will never in a million years Challenge PWill or Sergio at 154... I think if Arum sent an agreement with PBF 55 & PAC 45 with OST up until the fight...PBF takes that all day long...but because PBF didn't accept an offer that isn't fair...In the same manner that Pac REFUSED offers he didn't believe to be fair from OLDH and Hatton...He's ducking??? If the rumors of a Cotto vs PBF materialize at 154 and it outsells a PAC vs PBF...I believe we'll never see PBF vs Pac because PBF will ask for even more of a percentage...and even more, the up and coming as well as champions of 140, 147 and 154 will also be solidifying their names and will obviously want to fight PBF because he brings more money than PAC.

I can't believe anyone would say this isn't a Bona-Fide opponent - The dude has only two losses to someone who MANY consider cheated!!! He could have possibly gone undefeated and definetly has KO power... He beat an undefeated Alfredo Angulo at light middleweight and He went 12 rounds with Martinez - Who by the way, just went twelve rounds with PWill!!! I would have been killing PBF if he would have fought Campbell, Hatton or Mags!!! Bullshit. Sergio KO'd Cintron in the 7th round and everybody knows it. A draw? Give me a break. Cintron has legitimately lost 3 fights. And to be honest, I doubt Margarito would risk cheating against Cintron. I don't think he had loaded gloves in that fight. Mosley and Cotto is another story.
