He surely was the best of his time. But times have changed and moved on. Pac is the best of this time, so i cant say SRR for sure is the BOAT, or rather GOAT.
There should have been a third option, of Maybe, but not 100% sure.
]Yet you also listed bunch of guys that were not the caliber of fighter that you were making them out to be be. The fact of the matter is the majority of those guys were past it, or not on the level you're making them out to be, just to boost Roys resume. I never denied that Glenn Johnson was robbed against Castro, so what does that have to do with anything, other than you trying to point out useless information to make yourself look more knowledgeable.
Please explain "what level I'm trying to make them out to be" other than they were top fighters? You said they were not top fighters. Jones dominating those fighters is impressive no matter how you try to spin it. How you can argue that is beyond me. If exposing what's true and what's not is "trying to look more knowledgeable" then I'll take that. You claimed the fighters in question were past prime or not top fighters. What you're doing now is trying to create a separate argument and I'm not buying it. Particularly when you keep making untrue statements about what I said or didn't say. I'm done with it because I've already proven what you said wasn't true and in detail. And you know it.
People such as Eddie Futch, Ray Arcel, Freddie Brown, Chris and Angelo Dundee, Bowie Fischer, Gil Clancey, Manny Steward, Freddie Roach, Bert Sugar (a-hole that he often is), Muhammad Ali, etc., all have said Ray Robinson was the GOAT!
Patrick Kehoe
I think he is yes, one of the most tremendous combinations of speed and power ever seen! His power is under rated, he has got to be one of the harder punchers p4p of all time whilst being one of the fastest, he could box, brawl, iron chin. What he may have lacked a little in technique compared to ali, srl, whitaker, mayweather, he made up for in the areas I have mentioned above. I would rank him slightly higher than leonard and ali.
for those who answered no that is fine, but none of you better even try to say that floyd is better that robinson. if you do you need to shoot yourself
im sorry but ray robinson is a bum
11 wins and 1 loss, wtf is that?? :nonono:
This is a joke right? If you are not you should not be on a boxing website
Whitaker was #1 but Toney was up there...
Some list had Toney at number 1. Most had Whitaker at #1 but Toney was no lower than 2 on just about any list you could find.
I'll acknowledge that those guys were top rated fighters at the time but, you're making them out to be these legends. In the big picture those guys won't be remembered for much and do not add to Jones' legacy. And btw Glenn Johnson was ripped off when he fought Woods.
Don't put words in my mouth or misquote me. I never said that. You claimed that these fighters were either past their prime or that they were not top fighters. I claimed that the statement wasn't true and pointed out in detail why. Period. Don't start making up things to back away from your comments. And Many people claim Reggie Johnson was "ripped off" against Tarver and Toney. And Johnson was robbed against Jorge Castro. Twice. So at least be consistent when you talk about bad decisions.
C'mon guy, seriously. Leave it to a Roy fan to to turn the converation from Atg's to Guthrie, and Rosenblatt. My boxing knowledge is not limited to just Roy Jones jr. and the guys he fought. Like I said broaden your horizons and do your homework. You'll find that boxing has a lot more to offer.
It's pretty obvious that you can't differentiate between "top" fighters and all time greats. Guthrie was a top fighter. A world champion. That's not debatable. If you can't see that it's either because you choose not to or your ignorant.
Reggie Johnson beat Lamar Parks and Steve Collins for starters. Collins was a top middleweight and world champion. Do you even know who Collins is? And all of Johnson's losses with the exception of Jones were close controversial decisions to fighters that include James Toney and Antonio Tarver. Nobody dominated him the way Jones did. And Clinton Woods beat Glen Johnson. Did you forget who that guy was?. So this notion that these two lost every time they fought top competition or that they were not top fighters further shows you don't know what you're talking about which is why it's a waste of my time explaining it any more than I have. Especially when you acknowledge Tesleco as a top fighter but not Reggie Johnson? Please.
there's no point, i've given up hope on the little imbecile, he's actually retarded
I remember when they announced that Jones Paz fight and all the media outlets thought it was a joke. Dana Rosenblatts record was padded as heck.
As for Johnson who did he beat that was so great? He lost anytime he fought a decent opponent. Same thing with Clinton Woods. Are you seriously using these guys to defend Roy's resume?

You would have to be clueless to think these fighters are not good for Jones resume and you clearly are. Especially when you acknowledge Tesleco as a top fighter but not Reggie Johnson? Please.
Yes, only because you Roy Boys brought it up.
i found a pic of you and your mother, now we know where you got your looks from
