This guy was a true freak of nature... Now this guy wasn,t a combination puncher no, he was good at one thing and that was landing one bomb on you and it was lights out literally... I have him as the hardest puncher to ever live... Where would u guy,s place the hawk on p4p list hardest punchers???
Ricardo lopez was insane
if people want to argue that somebody like he, or galaxy, are harder "p4p" punchers than jackson, shavers, foreman, g man, robison, and larger men with similarly inhuman punching power because of their size i have no beef with that
oz for oz, and inch for inch, you could very well be right
lopez' power sort of power is more rare among minimum weight classes, obviously, where most men need to pile up damage on opponents over many rounds to stop them
weighing much less than most of the women and young people in the audience, lopez could knock a man out with one punch
the g man had a great hook coming after the jab as well
one of hardest i've ever seen
for a man built like he was, he was an anomaly
he could get the extension on his right hand by throwing at the proper distance
and still be close enough for the hook to the body
unbelievable offensive talent
I've heard about Jackson or ages but I never once took a look at his fights. Looked over his record, quite a puncher indeed. Had McCallum as his first loss, no shame in it as he was a very good fighter with a terrific resumé.
Julian took a lot of punches in that fight but he seemed to still have his wits about it. The way he reacts after the ref steps in makes it seem as Jackson was hurt, but was still had his senses the way he throws his arms up.
Boxrec and youtube are a beautiful thing.
Throwing bombs from the bell is fierce but even tyson power wasn,t as scary as the hawk... Dude, if he hit u on the chin, it wasn,t no getting up... Tyson had speed and power and that was his niche...
I like Mike Tyson, he hit you with bombs as soon as the bell rang, his jab was a power punch, his lunge was ridiculous and left or right uppercut lights out!
Gerald McClellan, and Jackson had crazy power. I just remember Gerald hurt you BAD when he hit . It seemed like Jackson know how to hit a dudes off switch or something they were sudden one punch KOs.
cool, someone mentioned g-man who was a monster puncher and would have gone down as an ATG under different circumstances.
I think thats mostly because McClellan had an iron chin. wheras Jackson...not so much.
unfortunately, Jackson might have contributed to McClellans brain condition. apparently since the Jackson fight McClellan was starting to complain of headaches.
He also sparred with heavyweights, I doubt that did his brain any favors.

Jackson hit gerrald with some bombs and due to his chin he was able to withstand those shots but like u said, gerrald started complaining about headaches afterwards and along came benn... The end...
mcclellan vs jackson, both fights tore me apart as a kid, my two favorites at the time fighting, at least in jr middle weights / middle weight classes...... till this day, watching those fights take me through a roller coaster of emotions....
jackson and mcclellan were not only awesome but my favs and still are......
i kind of wish they never fought but that me being greedy, but more so than anything i wish mcclellan never fought benn.......... or at least had a better ref in that fight.
True that, Benn ref's would never stop one of his fights. They let him practically kill his opponents. Guys would be getting hit hard and flush and not hitting back, and the Ref would be just watching like it was no big deal. Watch him fight Russell Barker to see what im talking about.
I have never seen more firepower in the ring than McClellan vs Jackson.
although Hearns vs Cuevas comes pretty close. ****, maybe even more.

Fitzsimmons was a hitter... Like i said, imagine the weights your speaking of and look at jackson at 154lbs.. Also when he fought gerald he was pretty much blind in one eye which most people don,t know... All i can say is what a puncher... Punchers are born and not made is a true statement...
yep and gerald stopped his 2 times..in the 5th and in the 1st.......
