personally Marg should recieve jailtime, Boxing is a dangerous sport involved with one competator trying to knockout their opponent, this is dangerous in its own right and their have been deaths in boxing, adding a rock hard substance to your wraps should be considered either assualt with a deadly weapon or intent to kill.
not only this but he uses Cleto Reyes gloves which are famous for being punchers gloves meaning their is less padding situated over the knuckles.
man your lucky, it would be such an honour to talk to joe. he in my opinion was one of the greatest if not THE greatest pressure fighter ever, never stopped coming forward. He had the best left hook ever and the heart of a true champion.
I heard that he has a gym in philly somewhere, is that true?
calzaghe and sam peters make me hate boxing.
Calzaghe acted like he was a "super champion" for beating a past prime roy jones.
There are no words to describe my utter dissapoitment in Calzaghe
i agree with this thread, most heavyweights nowadays look like fat guys they took off the street and said "here some boxing gloves, NOW GO BE A CHAMPION!"
last night i watched eddie chambers and sam peter, i fell asleep around round 7
you know klitschko2009 i love you, becuase! no matter the time! the place! the hour! if there is a thread where a klitschko is not recieving the up-most respect! if there is a thread complimenting david haye! you shall be there! sted-fast and standing strong in your never ending efforts to prove klitschko's unquistioning dominance of the heavyweight devision!
Which i must say i agree with you, the klitschko's do dominate the devision, mainly becuase most of the heavyweight devision is fat and lazy, throw's maybe 10 punches a round and then take the next 5 or 6 rounds breathing heavily. The klitschko's have yet to prove themselves in my eye's againts a good challenger, im hopeing haye will be that challenger
How does one know if the challenger presents that challenge or not? If he beats Wlad?
Peter gave Wlad all he could handle that night and Wlad still won. That was the test and he passed. Give up the respect.
Haye is the #1 contender and he is in shape. Maybe you will render some credit when Wlad beats him thoroughly.
when wlad kicks the **** out of haye i will bow down and give him the respect, but right now i just cant. Like i respect him as much as any man respects a fighter but i cant respect him as a champion until he proves he can handle someone who is in atleast decent shape and throws more than 6 punches a round before getting winded.
Recently i watched Sam Peters vs Eddie chambers, i was asleep by round seven and found out that chambers had won the next day on highlights.
Peters has never been a really great fighter in my opinion, sure he was champ but he beat a guy (who's name i cant remember for the life of me) who was just a poor fighter in my opinion. Maybe if he slimmed up and improved on his cardio he would be a great fighter, he has the power. But he just does'nt have the energy to make watching a heavyweight fight exciting.
ali vs frazier, it would'nt have been such a great trilogy if frazier was an outfighter, or if ali didn't have his trademark speed. That in my opinion is the definition of "style's make fights"
Who cares what Haye says??
he's a big mouth glass chinned overhyped fraud that hasn't done jack shit in the heavyweight division.
Wlad is gonna shatter his glass chin
what are you gonna do when haye knocks out wlad? are you going to continue to rant about hayes glass chin and how it shall be shatter by wlads brother?

well as i see it this fight could go 2 ways, floyds skill takes over and makes JMM look like an amatuer which personally i believe wont happen, you cant count JMM out ever no matter who he's facing
or JMM well go in there and beat floyd around. Once again highly unlikely becuase floyd is'nt stupid enough to get into a trading match with JMM.
alot of people seem to be gettin somewhat childish in this thread, sure i can understand why some people dont like floyd becuase honestly neither do i, i hate the mans guts and im a big fan of marquez. But in a completely unbiased opinion i will say that Floyd has the bigger chance of winning considering he's a tad bit bigger but that has rarely anything to do with it, its his ring generalship and overall skill he brings into the ring. JMM on the otherhand cant be counted out as a tune up becuase JMM is far from a tune up, he in my opinion is one of the better opponents mayweather has faced even considering he is coming from a lower weightclass.
Thats another thing, people taking this size advantage into such a big detail, SIZE DOES NOT MATTER! its been proven time and time again yet everyone is getting their panty's in a knot over this fight. If Marquez loses then oh well i guess floyd stays undefeated and Marquez lost to a very skilled fighter and if Marquez wins well then hidey ho! ide be happy, floyd would get a loss and JMM would have Floyd on his resume of defeated fighters.
So everyone lets all just take a deep breath...and wait until september 19th when we'll get to see what will happen
personally and this is my own choice i would take a high risk fight for a low reward. But that is just me, when im at the top of the boxing world if the fans want to see a fight ide gladly sign a 60-40 contract even if i was getting the smaller peice, personally when i become world champ i dont want to be a champion that fights for money, i wanna be one that will fight the fighters that could without a doubt whipe the floor with me becuase i want to fight exciting fights and fight the fighters that would make me a better fighter.
But if i had a family then i could see going for the money becuase it is a mans job to support his family before anything else.
that was an absolutely breath taking video showing just what arturo gatti was: a warrior! Gatti is an absolute throwback to the golden age of boxing when men did'nt fight for records or money, they fought for the fame and glory to be known as The World Champion. Now Gatti's up beyond the golden gates, tradin with all the gladiators from boxing's past
in my personal opinion i believe hatton is more overrated than some people make him out to be. But! he is a good fighter with enough heart to go in there and fight who everyone thinks is the best, sure he did'nt win those fights but atleast he did'nt do what floyd did for years, sit about and say IM KING OF THE CASTLE! YOU DO THIS! YOU DO THAT! and then duck everyone that posed a threat to him. Hatton atleast had the balls to go in there and fight guys who outclassed him, he won rounds againts mayweather, who is an amazing boxer but a total douche at the same time.
But now i believe hatton is past his prime, and the pacman fight sure did'nt help dismiss that
so all in all, hatton is a good fighter, ide say he's an A class fighter just for the fact that he had the kahona's to fight the worlds best but he just has to many bad habits that pull him down, and he is getting up there in age (then again age is'nt really a factor considering some fighters) Still, i tip my hat to the british hitman, ricky hatton
oh god, i love roy jones the mans an insperation and one of the most gifted athletes to ever set foot on this planet but even he has to eventually hang up the gloves. I cant see this going any other way than Silva winning. But if it was a prime roy jones then ide have to say goodbye to the spider :boxing:
it was absolutely shocking for me to see nate campbell quit, he was one of the last fighters i would expect to just give up on his stool after taking a cut.
Very bias ref, wouldnt give a green Rosado a chance. Cant wait to see this guy dominated again, where is Kermit when you need him.
http://readingeagle.com/BlogUploads/18/CINTRON_ANGULO.jpg
imo its a shame when people hate on fighters, i believe every fighter deserves atleast everyones mutual respect as he lays his well-being on the line to give us some entertainment. If the fight had continued i could only see Rosado being put in serious danger, it is apparrent that Angulo hits with some jazz and a defencless Rosado would only turn into a punching bag. I believe the ref made the right decision when stopping the fight because it is his job to ensure the saftey of the fighters, and thats exactly what he was doing.
Overall i say Angulo has become a very interesting fighter to watch, sure he has some things he could fix but dont we all? one day i hope to see him fighting for a world title, unless he already has one...these days in boxing everyone seems to be a champion (considering theres like 90 belts)
dear god after reading this thread i have come to the conculsion that
1) you are one of the biggest trolls ive ever stumbled upon in all of the internet
2) you have mental issues and should be reported to a clinic as soon as possible
TO EVERYONE: why are we still posting in this thread? is'nt it obvious that no matter what we say and what we do that his god like statistics will defy the odds? his equations of Bigger = Better well always prevail? Ali even though he Ko'd 50% of his opponents is a featherfist, but his hands are so heavy that they are pulled down to his waist and his ability to keep distance to opponents and not get hit (clowning) is a sheer mockery to boxing! honestly people, That Big Russian man is huge, he would totally own Ali, Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Patterson and any other fighter in boxings past useing Knn's logic.
TO KNN: Your high as a f*king kite sir!
Come May 2nd, they'll both have another thing in common : They both knocked Ricky Hatton the fuck out.
lol this made me laugh, i also hope manny will win over hatton. But yes, i mark this as a GOOD POST
Man there's a lot going on in this thread and I'm going to try and cover the big points that stood out for me.
1) Ali vs Frazier III: I've watched the fight about three or four times and every time I have Ali winning on the scorecards going into the 14th round. Ali danced and hit Frazier enough to win on the majority of the scorecards. The small work he did paid off against Frazier however Frazier still won about 2-4 rounds. I haven't watched the fight for awhile so I cant give an accurate description of what I scored it but I know for a fact that Ali won that fight.
2) The Klitchko's: People are raggin on these guys for "losing to journeymen fighters" and "just being big" but thats not it. They use their size to their advantage with a strong jab and powerful right hand. They aren't the most engaging style to watch but technically its genius and I respect them very much for conducting themselves well outside of the ring and inside of it, they are great fighters however they would not hold their own in the 70's. You can argue me on it and say I'm wrong but in your heart you know I'm right. Ali had more than just the Jab and technical advantage on his side, he was smart, he could mix it up, he threw a variety at punches at a speed thats unmatched these days.
3) Wlad Klitchko (the poster): No offence but man your making yourself look like a complete fool, now you might say "oh this is coming from a 16 year old go do kiddy stuff, ect. but no you gotta look at facts, plain and simple the Klitchko's are great fighters for this era however in Ali's Era they would have never claimed a world title. They would have absolutely given some of the fighters in that era fits and may have beaten them also. But against the top game of the time I believe they would fall short. Insulting Ali these days is pointless, there have been millions before you, and thousands more to come, you are a simple number in the Ali legacy. You question him, many questioned him and look where he ended up. With the title as Greatest of All Time. There's no stopping that man, he decided what he wanted to do and he accomplished it. I try to look past his racism and bigotry and see that he put himself to where he is today, he molded his legacy into what he wanted it to be.
Final Notes: Never watched Ali vs Norton, but I've heard many good things about it so I will definitely check it out, Frazier was a little past his prime when he fought Ali the 3rd time but Ali had been out of his prime since 66' so theres no argument there that the performance Ali made on that night was nothing short of grand.
it seems almost unfair to judge considering PR has a far less population than mexico, me being from mexico city myself I understand why there are so many boxer's. The people are dirt poor, from where I came from 3 people in my neighborhood were pro fighters. That doesn't mean they were any good but they were trying to better themselves.
PR is more financially stable than 3/4 of the mexican population.
you gotta keep your chin down, you raise it up when throwing your jab and along with that you throw your right hand to the side like Naseem Hamed did. Don't give me the "had to change my style he was bigger" crap either, not to be rude but just because he is bigger than you doesn't mean you can make amateur mistakes like that.
especially against bigger guys you should work on proper movement, power punching and speed. Don't move back and throw lousy shots, move to the sides, throw compact, quick and powerful punches and then continue moving. It is a small ring for sure but that should be no excuse, use it to your advantage on how to move quickly in the pocket, side to side.
he didnt try. if he hit JMM the way he was beating on shane, he would have sparked JMM out
Now I just don't see this, He could mash Marquez's face in all 12 rounds and I don't think he'd spark out Marquez, he could have stopped him for sure but he wouldn't legitimately knock out Marquez. Marquez may be a few weightclasses smaller than Mayweather but he isn't an easy man to put out.
well if were going by undefeated streaks then Julio Cesar Chavez is the single greatest boxer to ever be born. his streak went 90-0
and honestly people to end this thread lets look at his more recent post "I have floyd ranked higher than SRR and Ali"
obviously this man is either trolling so hard he should be given a prize, or he is literally what the internet and boxing forums have become.
Rest in peace SAMURAI, Im fairly new to boxingscene but I know you were one of the top of the line guys, sometimes you made some post's that were disagreeable but they were never out of reality. A very intelligent and honorable man that could admit when he was wrong, but would stand by his opinion if he knew right.
It can never be said enough, RIP. My hat off to you Sam, everyone in this world wants to be remembered for something when they die, and you will always be remembered by more than just your family and close friends, but by everyone on boxingscene which could number in the thousands as a classy, fun, wise guy who always had something interesting to say. What better way to remembered, would you not agree sam?
George Chuvalo had 96? proffesional bouts, fighting the likes of Ali, Froman, shavers, norton, frazier ect. Not ONCE was he knocked down. His entire career he remained on his feet no matter the punishment, perfect example.
FRAZIER VS CHUVALO
frazier was a hard hitter as it is. Late in the fight he hit chuvalo with a left hook that shattered his orbital. He fought on for 2 more rounds before the referee stopped the fight due to massive bleeding. Chuvalo required imediate surgery to fix it, his eye had sunk down into the place where his orbital bone should be. This injury was considered to end a man's career, yet chuvalo made a comeback and fought on for 4 more years.
I'de like to say mosley by KO either round 4 or round 9 but honestly im not sure, ive had dreams of the fight ending by knockout for mosley but I just cant see him KOing mayweather
So my prediction is as much as i want mosley to win:
Mayweather UD 9 rounds to three
