Broner definitely has physical gifts but has terrible discipline and Mikey has great discipline with no physical gifts... you're really getting everything backwards with this post.
.....
Floyd always has the ability to walk his opponents down.. you see it in his sparring all the times. He just saw Conor was very susceptible to it.
Manny was no destruction machine until the CWs at 147
Manny was the least destructive at 147 and the most destructive below 147, what are you talking about?
Pacquiao has basically fought every single fighter there was in his generation and in his weight class with a name and draw.
The only person he ducked was floyd when the negotiations fell apart because of blood testing, but to be honest I think that was more bob arum's doing. Arum was looking for a way out of that fight because he didn't want to risk his cash cow losing, and pac just went along with whatever he said.
Pac's not the kind of person that's scared to get in the ring with anyone. He will literally fight whoever they put in front of him. He's already seen it all.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
i just wanna take this time out to thank floyd maywether. if it wasnt for him paving the way, canelo would have never gotten caught.
Floyd never used VADA but I am happy people, the fans are more aware of testing.
Now only if fans of other sports were more aware.
People are so quick to judge. It's not that they suck, they're actually pretty good at what they do, just it's very hard to be the very best at something. And with the way a lot of sports fans are, specifically boxing fans, they only believe the ones at the top to be "good" and if you're not good you "suck." Hell people on this forum still say the fighters at the very top suck.
Simply just ask yourself how hard it is to be the very best in the entire world at something.
Imagine the sport as it is now, with all the cherrypicking and that, imagine how bad it would become if there was only one app or channel ruling all fights, we would be doomed.
You're wrong about that. They cherry pick because of all the different outlets.
The UFC is a good example that it's much better to have all the best under one banner.
No
Floyd didn’t fight above his natural weight for the last decade of his career. Manny stopped getting credit for fighting at welterweight. The dude eats to make weight.
What?
Yes. Just inside the top 50, right about even with Pacquaio.
Manny was a more accomplished fighter in 2006. Now think of how much more he has done since then....
I won't be buying it. Does very little for me. Neither have a very exciting style. Both ducked Pacman recently. And neither are a legit threat to Floyd.
B- level PPV...and I think I'm being kind with that grade.
These two guy earned their way to where they are today. Theyre not even superstar status so anyone playing it off as theyre trying to be something theyre not.. just stop. Support boxing and buy the fight.. or go watch nascar or something.. quit being horrible fans
If you could only keep 1 of them for Boxing would you keep HBO or Showtime?
HBO has much better production quality without argument. Lamply can get on my bad side time to time but other than that I love HBO. It was an awful move for them to not work with Golden Boy anymore.
With showtime I really enjoy Paulie and thats about it. I don't think the lighting and the sound levels as HBO. The replays are awful. Al is always and I mean always off about what replay is showing and describing whats happening in the replay. Jimmy Lennon Jr. is just always introducing introducing introducing. (Hes not any good) The voice actor is annoying.
But as long as its a good fight/card I really don't care what network I watch it on. I always enjoy boxing and when it is on Showtime or HBO i'm almost always going to enjoy the production.
Marquez ahead of Bradley too.
I like that pick because it isnt simple minded.. yes Bradley beat him but hes the natural bigger fighter.. hes only been champ in 2 divisions where marquez 4 and arguably 5. Pound for pound marquez is better
Provodnikov is a badass
Rigo is crafty
Hopkins is old
Mayweather is rich
Rios is punch drunk
Maidana is reborn
Karass is determined
Thurman is hungry
Bradley is concussed
Donaire is humiliated
Pacquiao is motivated
Santa Cruz is busy
Martinez is injured
Ward is inactive
Broner is an idiot
Garcia is champ
Matthysse is one eyed
Klitschko is a hugger
Juan Manuel Marquez is whining
ect.
Love this.. but I think Donaire just got a wake up call. Humiliated is going a bit far. Hes still money ;D
Floyd don't kid yourselves
People are over looking Floyd's wins just because its expected of him. If a welterweight like lets say Alexander won in the fashion Floyd did everyone would be all over that.
Floyd has my vote.
Jimmy lemon is good. I love his intros.
Jimmy is awful.. Don't get me wrong his voice is great and all but he always repeats himself. He says introducing like a million times and always repeats things he says with different words.
"Now introducing from bla bla bla undefeated with no losses introducing bla bla bla." We get it hes undefeated of course the ****ing dude doesnt have any losses.
Really listen to what he says and how he words his phrases it's no where near on the level of Buffer.
When I first saw him I would have never guessed it. But as I saw him rising he always improved every fight by quite a margin. When he had the second fight with Marquez I though he improved so much he was gonna run him over. Even after that fight he kept improving and kept impressing me. So no I didnt think so before but i'm not surprised, the guy has an amazing style with the gifted abilities to support it. He truly has been amazing to watch.
Hopkins style.
I've never said such thing about Mayweather but he would make Canelo look SILLY. At first my stand on this fight was that Mayweather would school him. Then after a while I said the longer Mayweather waited to face Canelo the less chance he will have of winning. But after last night I'll go back to my original thought, Mayweather schools and embarrasses Canelo.
This kid is 22 years old and trains in big bear and starts gassing after 4 rounds. What type of sense does that make? He doesn't put punches together. He threw combinations for the first 3 rounds then he was just started throwing/hitting Trout with 1 punch at the time. If Mayweather is good at something that's taking away and anticipating punches from his opponent. So one punch at the time isn't gonna cut it.
This kid is obviously after a paycheck. There's no way in hell he beats Mayweather.
He didnt gas... He got hit in the body by a good shot inthe 6th round... and it carried over to the 7th and a bit for the rest of the fight.. trout was working the body gr8 imo.. but not enough to win the fight
What I can't get over is why Ortiz was still hugging and apologizing to Mayweather after the ref called the fight back into action. What an idiot.
Floyd called in Ortiz after cortez resumed the fight.
