When you think back on the punch from Mayweather that ended the night, was it justified?? Who's fault was it?
I think if it was the Bradley or Holyfield type headbutt the scenario might have been different..but the Ortiz headbutt was just soooo blatant.
Vic got hit with 17 elbows got frustrated and headbutted floyd...
Floyd: "he wants a rematch he can get it"
The ref's job is to warn or take points, he should have said something to the ref between rounds or started elbowing back.
He definitely did it on purpose and I can see why Floyd did what he did. I probably would have did that too. Or hit him low. I wouldn't want to have won the fight like that though. As a fan I was so pissed it ended that way.
Second that, but Ortiz comes apart like that. He admitted to trying to break Floyd's nose.
Floyd should have tried to beat him up badly for the remaining rounds. That's what Ali did with Ernie Terrell. Floyd took the easy way out and took advantage of the naive Ortiz.
..... but that is nothing new for Floyd. He has tried to KO other fighters by sucker punching the unexpected opponent.
I was so happy that Floyd didn't let Victor get away with that dirty sh*t. My only disappointment was that Victor CHOSE not to get up after getting what he deserved.
For those who were mad that they paid for it, I'm not sure what you guys expect. The four rounds, the foul and retaliation, and the post fight were thoroughly entertaining and i loved EVERY bit of it...and at the end of the day that is what you pay for. Hell I would have given Floyd another 60 bucks if i could have.
im still shocked ortiz didn't get up basically he quit again,i don't think the punches were as hard as he led on. cortez also ****ed up the situation by not breaking them up properly.
They were as bad as each other with what they did. Floyd's cheap shot wasn't as bad because it was a punch, but still cheap nonetheless.
My biggest gripe with the whole situation was that incompetent f**ker Cortez though, he didn't properly signal for the fighters to continue fighting, instead decided to gaze out of the ring like the time keeper had a huge rack, before looking round in astonishment to find that Mayweather had already flattened Ortiz. So glad the prick has finally retired.

Ortiz crumbled mentally as usual, the punch was justified but it would have been better had Floyd just punished him for a few more rounds rather than giving him an easy out.
Im a fan of ortiz but when i seen him hit the canvas i felt that ue deserved it i honestly thought he was gonna get up though
Floyds known for it though he did the same in the mosley fight they were exchanging words mosley touched gloves with mayweather and mayweather instantly two pieced him.
He threw a sneaky right hand when corrales was adjusting his trunks
And also when gatti got knocked down in the first round
I do the same thing during sparring. That "adjusting the trunks" habit irritates and annoys me...it's protect yourself at all times! If your trunks don't fit, buy some that do!
So legally punching someone after the ref called time in is bad sportsmanship? I disagree.
You are equating illegal tactics with what you call a "cheap" shot. WHen did "cheap" and illegal become the same thing?
If this wasn't floyd I dont think you would be equating these actions.
i suggest you have a look again. cortez was looking outside the ring!!!!!!!!
i might be in the minority but i thought ortiz had the ability to get up...Him smiling didnt help either, or the fact that he knew people would side with him
ask the fans that paid to be at the mgm or that bought that fight on ppv if floyd was wrong or not. bottom line is it was not good sportsman like conduct as floyds favourite ref says. it was a cheap shot.

What I can't get over is why Ortiz was still hugging and apologizing to Mayweather after the ref called the fight back into action. What an idiot.
Floyd called in Ortiz after cortez resumed the fight.

What ref is this? And what do you base this on?
You are equating a legal punch with an illegal headbutt. would you feel the same if floyd were not involved?
Ortiz was wrong. Floyd was not. Gatti was stupid. Floyd was not. At some point posters should hold fighters accountable for fouls and mental mistakes they make and stop blaming floyd.

Why look back? Not a classic, floyd was gonna win either way. Ortiz was not mentally ready
Also, we all agreed it was Joe Cortes (ref) fault for not taking good control of the ight. He was suppose to bring them in opposite corners. He id a poor job, lie usual and blows fights
I was disappointed I payed for the fight but Ortiz got what he deserved for headbutting then apologizing so much. He's been boxing long enough to know better than that my coaches tell us don't ever touch gloves once the bell rings cause someone might try to catch you while you are doing that.
