Every time I go on Youtube or anywhere really for a boxing fight I see big racist arguments all over the place. Usually Mexicans feuding with African Americans. I don't really see that with MMA .
Also most MMA fans don't go out of their way to knock boxing the way boxing fans do with MMA. You can watch both boxing and MMA but sadly a lot of boxing fans don't feel that way.
Not comparing the sports but comparing the sport's fans, I would say yes, UFC fans are better to their fighters than boxing fans.
I never see name calling like "bum", "coward" from ufc fans.
They also forgive losses more than boxing fans do.
McGregor fans say hi
I'm a longtime fan of both sports and have had many conversations with fans of both.
-Most boxing fans are fairly knowledgeable of the history of the sport as well as the science of boxing. Maybe not in-depth, but they've educated themselves in the sport. The average boxing fan knows a lot about their sport, comparatively.
-Most MMA fans I've met/known are very pedestrian in their knowledge of the history of the sport, as well as the mechanics involved. They buy PPVs because they are a great way to get friends together. They know a few top names. They don't know the names of most holds or moves unless they are called out. Conversations about the sport tend to be very shallow and not at the same level as with the average boxing fan.
Interestingly, I've found that guys at both boxing and MMA gyms are not as inclined to follow their respective sports as much as you'd think. Maybe half the guys, even if they're really good, don't care about who is fighting who, they aren't watching a lot of old footage, etc.
Boxing fans are so bad because they have been abused by the sport they love for decades. Give Dana few more years to abuse MMA fans and they might turn as salty as us.
While Bob Arum accused UFC Fans of being racist...boxing has a far much bigger issue than MMA/UFC
Of course you're always going to have your Trolling Losers on the internet no matter what sport it is that is just what some guys do BUT MMA fans care about the FIGHTERS not which Network they fight on, they don't care about their Fight Purses nor do they care about if they're fighting for UFC or Bellator for the most part
With Boxing especially now in this ERA, it is about everything else besides the fighters talent in the ring and that is just so BAD for the sport IMO. It is too divided and because of that Divide I think the sport suffers as a whole especially here in the U.S. while MMA is THRIVING with the right Demographic that boxing struggles in
I see MMA actually given credit to a great performance even if it is by a guy they don't like compared to boxing and in this ERA in which fans make excuses or they reach for something to B1TCH about
It's probably the opposite, many UFC fans are rednecks and dislike all the black fighters. Thanks is constant race baiting on every mma video on YouTube. For minorities boxing is a more lucrative and appealing combat sport.
Well, kinda proving your point with some of these responses.
Ive always been a FIGHT guy period. Ive boxed and been a fan of boxing for 40 years, that said, the weekly BS and prices of PPV made me change the channel a few times and now I can appreciate the MMA game. Most people here wont understand it. A REAL fight on the street. The advantage goes to the wrestler period. You have to be well rounded in a real fight. Boxing is just 1/3 of a real fight.
UFC fans are annoying as hell when they have actual stars to rally behind. Ever met a McGregor fan? Did you see how unbearable the Ronda Rousey fanboys were before she got the **** knocked out of her twice? seriously I don't think anyone has ever had a dumber fan base than Ronda Rosuey.
Yeah, I also noticed guys like Joe Rogan and MMA journalists rarely attack fighters like Kellerman, Jim Gray, Fat Dan, Larry Merchant, ect. Often do. I hate seeing that crap especially after a fighter just fought their hard out.
Oh fuck don't get me started on their commentary. Every UFC fighter with a 7-1 record is a legendary all-time greatest fighter according to them.

No. MMA fighters are a bunch of wierdos, their fans embody the same characteristics as them. It was Dana White who suggested Ronda Lowsy and Conor Mcgregor could hurt Floyd Mayweather in a fight. His fighters got their asses handed to them in their own sports and were forced to prostitute themselves in WWE and Boxing.
MMA fans claim boxing to be a dead sport. But boxers are making more money with its current business model. Uncle Dana cuts their checks short. C and B level boxers make more money than A level MMA fighters.
Tribalism exists in every sport. But we as boxing fans can appreciate someone with a style we find appealing.
