Hard to say; I have watched the 1st round 3 times, and from the angle I cant see anything else landing after that big right that rocked Timmy. Looks like Prov pushes him down while Bradley is leaning over (and it didn't take much)
if the ref rules a KD does Tim take the full count, and get his wits and legs or does he try to get up and do the circus roll. Hard to say what happens, but that right blasted he hell outta him, but he did come back throwing and landing
Don't mean to be a d*ck but wouldn't scoring a KD give the hurt fighter more time to recover? The question on this thread sounds retarded in a way, was Bradley already KD twice and the ref didn't count the 3rd KD or what? Havent seen the fight by the way.
Please (to: posters in general) watch the fight before commenting or voting...
After being knocked down (the ref mistakenly ruled it a slip), Bradley tried to get up after going down but fell flat on his face. Then took his time to regain his composure and get back up w/the ref asking him whether he was alright. It was similar to the Tszyu v. Judah TKO.
Some people have raised some decent arguments. I'm not trying to convince anyone on a point of view, I just want to see what people think and why they do.
Its a judgement call not a rule and if it is a technical ruling, when Maidana got KD vs Ortiz.. got up and droped back to his knees is taht technically a TKO?
no, he showed presence of mind to drop to a knee. it's different if your legs are all over the place
People just hate Bradley don't they? He gave people a fight of the year candidate and people still don't want to give him any credit. That was NOT a knockdown in the first round. There was no punch that caused that
I think what the thread starter is saying is, the first time Bradley went down the ref said it was a slip...which it wasnt. Bradley was hurt bad. The count would of started there and with Bradley getting back up and then falling down again, the ref may of stopped it or got close to a ten count.
Ok got it. The threadstarter didn't word it properly, but I guess the ref could have stopped the fight if see fit.

I think the argument is, if the knockdown was in fact ruled a scoring knockdown, Bradley would have been TKO'd by proxy of the fact he got up and fell back down again, that is an instant stoppage, as people have said look at Tsyzu's KO of Judah. Even after getting back up the second time Bradley fell back into the ropes. I'm fairly confident that if the knockdown was ruled the fight would have ended there.
It's not a rule, Berbick went down three times off of one knockdown against Tyson and the ref kept counting until he went down the 3rd time.
No, because it would've only given Bradley more time to recover. He definitely would've been KO'd had Ruslan done what he did in the 11th and 12th in the 4th and 5th instead.

I mentioned this in the other thread. If it indeed was deemed a KD and got up, fell back again like Zab isn't it supposed to be stopped?
Yes. Bradley got TKO'd
I mentioned this in the other thread. If it indeed was deemed a KD and got up, fell back again like Zab isn't it supposed to be stopped? I know that it seems to be up to the refs discretion (we ve seen people rumble around beire) so who knows. Bradley would have had time to rest, but so would Ruslan and gives him time to calm down. Anywho, I thought Ruslan edge the fight by a point but i had two 10-8s which I realize is uncommon.
The best way to look at this is Ruslan won the FIGHT, but Bradley won a boxing match.
I think the ref should have stopped it once or twice though. Timmy was throwing at times during his hirt moments but they did nothing.
But you know what? He gave Timmy the benefit and Timmy showed him he made the right choice. I just hope Tim is okay he took a LOT of damage... Worred about him actually. This is a career changing type of fight.

However it wasn't stopped and Bradley did well to grind out a decision in a competitive fight.

This is what should come to mind to everyone.

Know the rules before you post stupid ****.
The way boxing is called the rules are more like guide lines when it comes to stopping a fight. Get off your high horse.
impossible to say. Had he called it a KD its possible that Bradley would have stayed on a knee until 7 or 8 (like he did in the 12th) and wouldnt have been as wobbly. It's also possible he would have risen too early and fell, likely resulting in a TKO.
But thanks to the moronic Pat Russell we'll never know........
