I was at Miranda's fight at York hall and whilst excited to see him before the fight, he didn't look good. he seemed bloated and just went through the motions I hope he still has title level ambitions and maybe the last fight was a consequence of doing just enough; biding his time for a more meaningful fight.
That's a fantastic statement to make at a conference. I can imagine what Wlad thought as soon as he saw the shirt. These two guys are like chalk and cheese and should make for an enticing bout.
Duffgun aka Davros made it up. Chagaev-Wlad is NOT postponed or cancelled.
Wlad is not a bitch like Haye, he wouldn't do something like that.
why do you always get your knickers in a twist when someone in jest has a dig at a klitschko? Are you their online protector who takes your role too seriously?
On the flip side it is a bit of a bitch move fighting someone with hepatitis B. Having said that Ruslan is marginally better then Rahman.
Iv'e not seen much of Earnie Shavers so can't really say for sure. Foreman, the way he dismantled Joe frazier twice, has to be a top contender for the hardest puncher; or Marciano, for a little guy he hit like a mule.
Chris Byrd has very little left as an elite fighter. He was clearly showing his age against Klitschko and Povetkin is a hungry and young (if overrated) fighter, expect Povetkin to stop him. Unless Byrd's experience proves too much for his younger opponent.
I'm looking forward to Floyd's post-fight interview, when he tries to justify pity-pattying Hatton for 12 rounds. maybe he'll try to re-define the term "toe-to-toe" to suit his performance, cause it certainly won't be the real thing.
Hmmm Ok thanks guys.. I was sure Chris Byrd was Ring Champ.. But it wont be the 1st time I was wrong..
That's fine. Just stand in the corner for ten minutes and face the wall. That should be enough punishment.
Did you see Forrest banging that big right hand off Baldo's dome all night? No effect.
Hatton was slapped around silly by a powderpuff like Collazo. And his face looked like it had been in a woodchipper.
Hatton is not as durable as Baldo.
No. But his movement is far better, his aggressiveness more prolonged. He had a bad fight against Collazo, but still won, isn't that what all great fighters do? Win despite things are not going your way.
I still chuckle when people make try to make the case for Baldomir being an elite fighter.
He'd trouble the smaller guys by using his obvious size advantages, but he's got a big weakness; taking a big punch and being able to recover from such. Imagine if Lewis landed a right cross or a Frazier left hook? What would his response be? could he keep fighters like Tyson off him for the full 12?, I have my doubts.
Kessler wins with a right hand , young hungry and very well taught straight puncher , the Euro style is robotic to look at but its effective when you as good as Kessler , very tight and punches as straight as an arrow , this suits against a lefty and Joe punches wide and drops his hands , I think Kessler can KO him ,, if Joe wins its a very big effort at 36 and he will deserve a lot of credit .
You're making the mistake of thinking cause Kessler is younger; he is hungrier than Calz for success. Yes, both terms are often synonymous but Calzaghe wants the recognition he thinks he is due. This fight would set up a Hopkins fight on the biggest stage, huge motivation in itself.
lol @ oscar de la hoya.
yeah he's nice when the cameras are on.
tell all those people he ripped off and bad-mouthed that oscar is so nice.
See i'm very naive and gullible, if ODH is nice on camera. I trust him to be that charming and polite in any endeavour he partakes in.
As long as people subscribe to the Myth that Wlad has No chin.. then it's easy to say he would lose to all these guys..
But come on.. his chin is no worse than Lennox Lewis's
Lennox has been KO'd from 1 punch.. Twice.. Wlad never..
His chin is OK, his reaction to being hit is awful. His senses get scrambled and he has big trouble regaining his composure. He looks a cautious fighter and when he's in trouble that becomes far more obvious.
I concur. Being knocked out doesn't hurt. However, being knocked out by a body shot is one of the worst feelings you can have.
Exactly, being winded by a punch to solar plexus ain't a nice feeling, if the guy doing the punching was a world champion, it would make it 10x worse.
Lewis may have a slightly better chin than Wlad, but Wlad definatley has more heart. Wlad always gets up, unlike Lewis.
Once Wladimir takes part in a 'war' and comes out victorious, I'll concur that he has heart, until then....

JCC. Although you could argue his best fights were at 130/135 he gave us the best fight of all time at 140 against Taylor. He'd even beat a prime Pryor, yet again most sensible boxing fans would agree with that.
On March 22nd 2006 Wladimir Klitschko Defeated IBF and Ring Mag HeavyWeight Title holder Chris Byrd in 7 rounds..
Is there ANY reason Klitschko is not the RING champ???? WHy is the ring HeavyWeight Title considered vacant?? Did I miss Something??
How was Chris Byrd the Ring champ in the first place? I thought it was vacant since Lewis's departure. Byrd hasn't beaten a top 5 HW since Lennox's retirement. It must be a mistake.
Wow, people already writing off Peter, a guy who had a couple of bad rounds against a tough opponent; due to ring rust and lack of any meaningful preparation. How many bad rounds has Klitschko had in his career? A lot more than Sam. Get real guys! This is a tough fight to call, when it eventually happens.
You get idiots casting aspersions on a fighter based solely on his record, which they study on boxrec.com. They see a red box with the letter "L" on boxrec and automatically assume he's no good. That's not the site's fault at all but it offers a short cut for people who can't be bothered to actually watch a fight.
All in all, Boxrec is a valuable source of information, whatever your motives are.
Briggs also said his back was hurt against McCline and he had ashtma against Wilson. Cant remember if he made any excuses for losing to Lennox....
Briggs had tremendous respect for Lewis after that fight. He took it too Big Len for 5 rounds and came off 2nd best, he took that defeat like a man.
I have no Idea how anyone can look at Tyson's resume and say he only beat bums. The man has names like Larry Holmes on there and has popped more fighters 0's than I dare to count.
Yeah his resume is under-rated. But, Holmes was no longer a top HW, that much was evident.
To be honest I did think that Witter the hitter would put up a good fight!! But after last night, Witter should just forget about it Hatton will smash the granny out of him..
So your opinion of Witter has lowered after his performance last night? I don't quite understand that, he was more dominant than he's ever been. Beating Hatton is a difference story to nailing Harris but I'd of though his result last night would strengthen any argument FOR him beating Hatton.
Your not the only one. He's such a prick. You know the Doncaster Dome is only 10 minutes drive from my house.
i felt sorry for Harris.. but only when the commentator said "Vivian Harris has been here in Doncaster all week!". Haha, then the poor cunt got knocked out. I wonder where they put him up. haha.
Witter looked ok.. he wasn't as boring as he usually is. I must say though - he took some dodgy shots of an old man... if Witter thinks he could take clean shots of Hatton like that, he must be fucking crackers.
After watching that, i definatly think two things. Hatton would kill him and a Mallignaggi match up (with his speed and constant upbeat tempo, and heavy punching output) would make a fucking brilliant fight for Witters counter punching. Get that motehr fucker set up pronto i say.
Disagree. When Witter turned southpaw his jab and left hook was causing Harris problems, don't forget Harris is supposed to be a big hitter and although Witter retreated from some of those shots didn't look truly hurt. Hatton would get countered A LOT and would have trouble with Witter's slick style. Hatton would be fave and I think he'd just shade a SD but it's a fight that wouldn't end early.
As for Malignaggi, that's a fight that I'd like to see. Hatton will be busy over the next few months so a Witter/Malignaggi fight for early next year sounds great. If Paulie beats Njgougo first.
