yes we all know wlad is chinny and his stamina hasnt always been too good, but he is 6'6, 245, with good skills, strength, power, and handspeed.
how he does he do against great hws of the past like dempsey, louis, lewis, tyson, ali, liston, foreman, frazier, rocky, etc..?
give me a break. wlad is a clown in a hvwts clown division at this time. he don't rate with me . he would be a sorry ass seconcd tier boy if the hvwt division circus wasnt filled with so many clowns imo.
wlad with his size and skills would be a contender in any era.
his chin and stamina aren't too good, but neither was the chin and stamina of earnie shavers. wlad has much better skills than shavers and also is quicker.
holyfield in his hw prime would have annihilated wlad, just like he annihilated the 42 year olds foreman and holmes, alex stewart, the larger riddick bowe, the journeyman bert cooper, and the chinny former lhw michael moorer.
I wouldn't say annihilated, he definitely would beat him in his prime. I know Wlad is a hard puncher, but remember all the shots he took against Bowe particularly round 10? Evander would of kept coming. I've never seen Wladmir in a fight where he was trading shots with a fighter who won't go down and that's what Evander is.
My bad, I like Holyfield, though he should have stayed at Cruiser, imo, but then he wouldn't have showed how ordinary Tyson was. The way Bowe and Lewis owned him, I think Wlad would have as well.
tyson was an excellent fighter in his prime, as was holyfield.
any guy that cleans out a division like tyson did in the late 80s is not ordinary IMO, no matter how weak the division is (and it was just one of many mediocre HW eras).
holyfield would've reigned a long time @ 190 i think, but his georgia mansion would probably he like 1/4th of the size of what it is today.
too much $$$ to pass up and not move to hw
i guess i should be used to sarcasm going past people.
look at the other guys i named and how they were 'annihilated' by holyfield.

You do know Holyfield lost 2 out of 3 fights with Riddick Bowe right?

What about a prime Larry Holmes? Does he not count as one of the all time greats?
I have never seen this Russian box so i am only asking here.
Never seen Wlad box? You need to get out more.
LoL Holyfield in his prime would of annihilated Wlad, Holyfield was a monster in his prime. Holyfield had good power, not one punch knockout power, but from accumulation of punches so he can probably knock Wlad out. He definitely has a chin from the wars he had with Bowe, so he would of took some of Wlad's best punches and still keep coming, on top of that his handspeed was insanely fast, even faster then Wlad. Holyfield in in his prime would go to war with Wlad, the question is would Wlad kept fighting. You guy's are overrating Wlad he has beaten no one great.

not,,,,,your overrating holyfield. he was a warrior but struggled in many of his fights including the ancient larry holmes and bert cooper
i think he would do very well. any heavyweight that has skills and massive power like Vladimer will perform well in any era. he just needs to be more elusive and less clumbsy when someone trys to hit his chin.
the more i watch wladimir settle in to this change/alteration of his older style, the more comfortable i am with saying he could challenge most anyone.
WK fights a lot smarter these days. he is refining a perfect motherfucking jab. he has added uppercuts to his game - especially as part of a finishing combo. he is a hell of a lot more comfortable moving in the ring and fighting in the pocket.
i've been a fan since around 2000 or so, and have all of his fights in my video archive, so i am quite familiar with the recent changes set forth mostly by manny steward. every fight, he is looking better, more smoothe.
wald would have been a bad style match for any version of holyfield. just watch the bowe fights. holy wasnt a big banger and he;d have struggled with the size and jab of wlad. as much as I loved holyfield ,,,wlad would have beat him up ( assuming he'd pace himself and not punch himself out ala purrity/ brewster)

Lewis, Tyson(prime) Holyfield(prime) would all beat wlad.

but they were beautifully placed and timed shots right on the chin.
could u picture wlad standing up to the kind of leather that lewis did against mercer?
or taking those early left hooks from tua?
i personally cannot.
wlad chin is not glass, but it isn't good either, and lewis's was better.
So were Corrie Sanders's.. and Brewster' was right on the money Too...
Sam Peter nailed Wlad with a beautiful right hand in round 4 .. His best shot of the night.. Wlad was hardly phazed..
I promise I am not saying Wlad is an ATG or anything.. I just think alot of his criticism is Unfounded and based on the word of BOXREC warriors..
Lewis may have a slightly better chin than Wlad, but Wlad definatley has more heart. Wlad always gets up, unlike Lewis.
wlad has never been hit with a shot like the one rahman hit lewis with in africa. nor has he taken a shot as well timed as mccall's was, as lewis was coming forward and going into the right hand.
lummox did not lack heart in the ring (he never quit unlike the little ukranian who couldn't), but his recuprative powers were not that great.

Once Wladimir takes part in a 'war' and comes out victorious, I'll concur that he has heart, until then....
His chin is OK, his reaction to being hit is awful. His senses get scrambled and he has big trouble regaining his composure. He looks a cautious fighter and when he's in trouble that becomes far more obvious.
Thank You and I agree 100% ..His mental make up is what is worrying....
But It's a fixable problem..I guess time will tell
