As many of you have noticed, HBO has put the post-fight interview's with Larry Merchant on speakers so the crowd can hear what the fighters are saying after the fight unlike before where only TV land would get to hear the interviews.
So the question is, will Ricky Hatton face all of his fans from Manchaster and stick around for the interview or will he like Taylor tuck his tail between his legs and leave the arena and answer questions backstage?
He has been almost guaranteeing victory lately.....it seems like it would make it hard to face the crowd after a beatdown after all that....specially when you got the towel that your corner threw in on your head covering up your bruises.
if hatton wins, all his fans will love him and go out on the piss and have a great night, if he loses all his fans will love him, go out on the piss and have a good night. No matter what, Hatton stays in the ring and gives an interview as well as praising all his fans
Bad comparison my friend. Tyson is a lil bitch. He would have ran his mouth even more had he landed a lucky punch and won that fight. Fact is he got his ass handed to him and started taking everything back he said blaming it on trying to promote/hype the fight.
Mayorga did the same thing....twice. All them insults at Trinidad and Delahoya and once he got knocked out he runs to their corner and hugs them. Now he is back insulting Vargas.
I don't respect fighters like that. If you're gonna be a tough guy and insult people don't come crying and huggin them after you get undressed.
Anyway we've gotten off topic here.
My point is that if someone like tyson can stay in the ring after getting his ass beat, Hatton Def Can. Like I stated, hatton is a cool guy, even before the fight.
And you have giant font type syndrome. Please look everybody at what I typed all by myself. Little boys at school shouldn't mess with men, so come back when you have hairs on your nuts.
Who the hell are you? You're new around here aren't ya and you're already randomly picking fights with people. Go talk boxing and don't stick your vagina where it doesn't belong.
You're right. I should have wrote a thread from a Promoter's perspective. Something like: "This is a great clash of styles between two great fighters. It's the recognized jr.welterweight champion vs the recognized welterweight champion. Neither one has been defeated yet. Somebody's 0 has to go between these two top p4p greats" blah blah.
I have put some thought into this since the interviews are being heard by the crowd in the arena as well as opposed to in the old days when the people watching on TV only see what the fighters are saying. Taylor ran off after he lose SO it's not inconceivable to think that Hatton might do the same.
Shut up you midget. You're one of the top three most ignorant posters on this site.
There's a big word "IF" that is sadly missing from the question. Without that word this is a wind-up thread. With it it becomes a reasonable question. So what was your intention? Were you genuinely interested in what Hatton's response would be or were you simply trolling for a reaction from the "brit f.ags"?
That's a bit longwinded post. As I said.....mayorga and Tyson are not smart businessmen. They do things for attention but there is no plan behind it. Hopkins, jones, mayweather are different. Those guys talks numbers and purse splits....not these guys.
I think Tyson is a bitch and even if he is just promoting I could care less. This isn't fake wrestling. If everything these guys say is fake then what's the point of watching? I don't think it was fake......it's just they talk out of their asses and when they can't back it up they backpaddle. Nothing else to it. Let's leave it at that.
the point of watching is that it's entertaining to people to SEE a fight especially with two fighters who talk a lot of shit, be honest would you have enjoyed Lennox's KO over Tyson as much had Tyson not talked so much shit to him? sure you as a boxing fan would enjoy it but if you picked Lennox or are a Lennox fan and you see Mike doing what he was doing you would be thirst to see Lennox fuck him up right, you'll tune in to see it live just to get that kick out of it, either way you watching ya feel me.. Tyson has always been the type of guy to talk major shit then when he nearly kills the guys he rushes to them and helps them up, other times he doesn't but he picked the right times to do outrageous shit knowing the buzz it will create, it will keep that raw Tyson image alive but when those moments came to show his real feelings he showed love because thats what it was all along..
let me ask you this, if you were a world champion who is fighting the best on the regular yet you don't credited for it in terms of the spot light, the respect that Vernon Forrest deserved and didn't get until he dethroned the top dog, wouldn't you talk some shit to increase your revenue, regardless wouldn't you talk a little shit and put aside the respect factor until after the fight so you could BOTH get more bread? you would be a dick not to because it was never nothing personal, these guys aren't out to kill each other they just try to win and make as much money as possible.. if I'm trying to convince you there's beef by dissing my opponent I'm not going to show any indications of the respect I have for him, that shit doesn't sell tickets and nowadays Boxing is like a business 1st and THEN a sport, no fight will ever step into the ring 1st and THEN negotiate the bread homie, if the money ain't right then there ain't no fight so it's the money that determines these fighters accepting these bouts so why not put aside your respectful feelings and talk some shit? you'll get more money because there will be more hype surrounding you, it's called being smart dogz.. 100
If Ricky loses he will tell it like it is. "He was too fast for me" or "He was just the better fighter tonight." Now I would bet Floyd would leave the ring if he lost as soon as he could...

I dont thinkhe loses the fight actually but if he duz he'll face his fans and they'll luv him just the same - Hatton has the best fans on the planet!
I'm giving Tyson and Mayorga credit for the BUSINESS side of things not the actual fight, they could get their asses kicked from here to spain or kick ass themselves it really doesn't matter, I was referring to the promotion aspect of it like the way Bernard did with Winky, B-Hop mushed Winky to stir some shit up and generate more revenue, he did everything possible BEFORE the fight so that AFTER the fight he could walk away with the most money, the outcome of the ACTUAL fight at that point doesn't affect the pay day, maybe it can decrease or increase a fighters pay days in the future but for that ONE fight he gets paid..

You're giving Tyson and Mayorga way too much credit for being smart business men......they're not. They did their trash talk and they lost.
I say you're the naive one.

funny you should say that about Tyson, I remember watching a Documentary about him that was called "Mike VS Tyson" (I know many of you heard of it) and a boxing journalist(he's popular I just forgot his name, I think it was Ron Borges) told a story about how one time he had tried to talk some sense into Tyson, told him to change up his shit and clean his act up and then Tyson looked up at him and said "Yea, but will I still be Tyson?", it didn't go in those EXACT words but it's the same message, that right there let me know that although A LOT of shit he did was clearly because something was wrong with him that somewhere deep inside of him there was a method to his mayhem, he may have fucked it all up but he was getting $$$MONEY$$$ when he came up and that wasn't for no reason, that rep was built over the years threw his antics and he generated more hype which was more money so when I saw that film I knew that there was something more to it..
as for Mayorga well any boxer who smokes a cigarette directly after winning the world title is screaming for attention, any fighter who blatantly lets someone hit him in the face then comes back to win is a good fighter no doubt but also screaming for attention, doing that shit so in his next fight you can see him do it again, it was SUPER hyped with Trinidad cuz Tito is known for power. his bad ass, I'm going to fuck you all up image and antics during press conferences combined with that loud mouth of his makes for a good pay day, people want to see him either get his ass whooped or whoop some ass either way they watching and thats all that matters, once that is done they can show the respect they had all along.. I know I just wrote some long ass shit but I go in depth with mines, I respect your opinion I just don't agree and the way you originally sounded was like you feeding into the hype, the dog that follows the steak on the stick, last I checked thats being naive.. 100
you don't understand the game yo.. it's not personal between the fighters, unless there is real beef like in the case of Morales and Barrera or are too arrogant like Vic Darchinyan is, you feeding into the hype too much, at heart these guys are sportsmen, they respected each other all along but they end up giving the credit that was due after the fight because then the profits have been made, the money is already in the bank so there is no more to gain from a financial stand point so there is no more hyping, THEN they can big each other up but before hand they have to market the fight the best way possible even if it means playing the role to sell them tickets and what better way to market a fight than with trash talk? all they are doing is making their checks fatter and it works because look at how they have you talking right now, you believe them words and don't read between the lines which is very naive..

why you think Hopkins gave Tito love after the fight as well as Tarver? why you think Tarver did so too with Roy? why you think Mayweather did so against Gatti and De La Hoya? Mayorga to Forrest and Tyson to Lennox? it's because it was all hype, they shielded what they felt all along and gave the fans what they wanted to hear/see.. money is a big part of the fights and means a lot to the fighters, no boxer would fight for free and every boxer wants the most money possible so they use marketing scheme's, staged press conferences and premeditated incidents that create buzz, they do all what you accuse them of doing but you don't realize their actions do not coincide with their feelings, they do what they must and put aside all respect they may have for the moment but the truth comes out, the problem isn't what they are doing dog the problem is that you are in a boxing forum yet you don't understand the business side of the game.. 100
The real question should be, Will FLOYD stick around to address the crowd if he loses? Floyd has dismissed Hatton as a talentless bum/wrestler. Floyd has the status of pfp#1. So it is of no shame for Hatton to lose to him. Given Floyd's ego and sensitivity, i say he goes to his dressing room to cry his eyes out if he loses. Hopefully he will have 50cent's shoulder to cry on, while Leonard Ellerbe rubs his head.
I agree, I see Floyd leaving the ring quick-like the way Jermaine Taylor did after Pavlik. As for Hatton, like you say, no shame losing to most ring magazine's #1 pfp. Only if he quits on his stool or get's knocked out in the first round, and I see neither of those happening.

:boxing: What kinda question is that?? The British dont Dis-own there man if he loses! The Dif is Hatton will do all he can to win, If he loses then we know hes done his best..He will not lose fans cos he lost..But I guess I see what your saying though....Like what the Taylor fans and the people from his own town turned on him and was putting him down before the fight with Pavlik...Nar that shit can only happen in the U.S:boxing:

At the end of the night Hatton will need a group hug from all of his supporters
:crying: ............................................. :grouphug:
The real question should be, Will FLOYD stick around to address the crowd if he loses? .
It's pointless to ask a question that we will not have an answer to since Floyd will not lose to the bum as you called him.
I ask because it's more then likely Hatton will be bruised, beaten with a beach towel around his head. He did say that there is no way he is losing this fight so if he does.......I'm just sayin.
This is the classical definition of bitterness.
You don't have to become a Mayweather 'fan'. But at least acknowledge the accomplishment and what you just saw.
You are not a boxing fan.
you no fuck all to scrutinise me an if you do your research on me ud quickly find out that i am a big mayweather fan.
i love watching mayweather fight and respect what he does in the ring , my boxing fight dvd collection would probably rank up there with the biggest on this forum but i only own every fight off 2 ppl ricky hatton and wait for it floyd mayweather junior. the reason nobody will give a hoot bout mayweather if he does a number on hatton because hed of done it with complete ease and ppl will look on it has hatton been inferior rather then mayweather been that dam good and floyd and ppl like you dont help the matter. if ppl gave hatton the respect he deserves and sometimes put him on a false perch of greatnes then you can milk the win for all its worth but if your dismissing hatton has a no hoper wat does that say bout mayweather if he proves that????
ali needed frazier hagler needed hearns and so on so why cant mayweather need hatton for hes claim to greatness
