Probably a UD/KO for Povetikin, Byrd is at a really serious disadvantage fighting at heavyweight. His power isn't respectable enough. Povetikin will just eat through his punches and knock him out, just like the fight against Ike Ikbachui. At least James Tony can knock out his opponents, Byrd would probably be a hall of fame fighter right now if he was fighting at Cruiserweight or Light-heavyweight.
well byrd has only been knocked out twice and only once in his prime, both of these losses were against big punchers and i don't think povetkin has the power of ever nor the hand speed. i think byrd has enough left in him still to win a SD.
If the fight is anywhere near close enough to be a SD for Byrd, it's going to be a UD for Povetkin. The fight is in Germany.
Povetkin has alot of motivation and alot to gain. Povetkin by late round TKO, Byrd won't stay down we saw that in the beatdown last year. Anyone know if this is PPV or streams??
So you Reckon Povetkin can Punch as hard as W Klitschko and Ibeaucachi???
Of course not, but Byrd was a hell of a lot younger when he fought Ike and I'm sure has lost a step or two since he fought Wlad. At 6 ft tall, Byrd always relied on his excellent movement to slip punches, I think he's easier to hit now and goes down from an accumulation of punches around round 8 or 9.
I say Povetkin by KO TKO but Im not so sure, this isnt an easy one to pick. Byrd is a slick boxer and has been around for long time, Povetkin looks like good young prospect and unlike all the other so called prospects is not afraid of taking the challange after only 13 pro fights, that to be says a lot about him
I don't think this is as easy to pick as people think. Byrd is definitely past his prime, but still has a lot of skills and is crafty.
Povetkin is a great prospect and obviously doesn't back down from a challenge. I think he is stronger but is he faster? I can't say for sure.
I have not seen a lot of Povetkin but he looks like a great prospect so I will say he wins by SD.
Byrd has to much experience. Byrd by UD.
I agree.. Povetkin is too Green and Byrd has been in with the best..
Byrd by UD
Byrd by UD, I can't see him losing this one.
Povetkin has no lucidity in his boxing at all, he's flat footed, looks like a plodder most of the time, he has semi-fast hands and he's a semi-hard puncher, Byrd will look to out box him and will do it IMO.
way to early to fight chris byrd... byrd by wide UD.
Any of your stud muffins would like to bet on Byrd.. 2:1 odds right here baby!

Byrd cannot KO Povetkin and cannot win on points in Germany. Povetkin should win this on points, unless he's much better than I thought and might actually KO Byrd. I doubt it's gonna happen though. Povetkin by UD.
Byrd by TKO ???????? Yeah because Byrd's such a knockout artist right? A few years ago Byrd runs circles around this guy to an easy UD. As it stands, although Povetkin only has 13 pro fights, he has a great amatuer record and a recent gold medal. Byrd's not easy to knock out, but Ike and Wlad proved that he could be. Povetkin by TKO rd 8.

Povetkin is THE heavyweight prospect right now and verry good and Byrd is still a solid Top10 fighter. If Byrd comes in good shape and the right gameplan it will be a close decision that could go either way but if he comes in so la la condition like in his last fight and the wrong gameplan Povetkin may knock him out. But i have to pick and i pick Povetkin by close decision in an good skillfull heavyweight fight.
Chris Byrd has very little left as an elite fighter. He was clearly showing his age against Klitschko and Povetkin is a hungry and young (if overrated) fighter, expect Povetkin to stop him. Unless Byrd's experience proves too much for his younger opponent.

Povetkin by a wide decision. Byrd's not so easy to knock out.
I agree. Povetkin isn't stupid either. He'll be safe knowing he's in with one of the X greats.
I think Povetkin is going to take this one. He's the 6:1 favorite. Will be a pretty big upset if Byrd wins.
EDIT: This is in Germany too. I doubt it will be a win for Byrd if it goes to the cards and is any where near a close fight.
