This was supposed to be a huge superfight, so I'm wondering what kind of drawing power Pacquiao and Hatton have these days. I know I bought it. You'd think I'd be regretting it being that it only went 2 rounds, but I was pretty satisfied. I enjoyed watching it so much (and many times over being that it's on my DVR), but I dunno... something about Hatton's face during the knockout just makes me feel very sad.QUOTE]
I hear you man, I wasn't really going for either fighter, I love an under dog so I was probably favouring Hatton but the head said Pac.
I just feel like Hatton didn't deserve to get destroyed like that, I just watched it again on youtube andit really makes me feel very sad for Hatton.
c'mon guys, lets be serious... cotto is just too big for pac. its a mismatch
So was the DLH fight.
I'm going to wait and see how Cotto handles his next fight before I make any decisions, Cheato gave him a fair hiding and I'm curious to see how he comes back.
Either hang them up or beat someone like N'dou then see where he's at against Witter and either retire beating an old rival, retire if it's not clicking or challenge for some kind of title.
ON my local news they interviewed his manager. Forrest stopped to put air in a back tire when a guy approached him and asked if he can have some money. Forrest was a good person and took out his wallet and was going to give the guy a few dollars when some guys jumped out of a car and they stole his wallet from him and took off running. Forrest gave chase for some time and lost them around a corner. He proceeded to walk back and a guy was hiding in the bushes and shot forrest in the back, he then shot him 6 more times in the back while he laid there. Sad Sad story.
Seriously though a fuken wallet!!!!!! Let them fuken go with your fuken wallet!!! Forrest acted carelessly and paid with his life. A fuken Wallet!!! Cards can be cancelled even if he had say $1,000 in it that is still not worth your life especially when you've made millions in your career and had a lot to live for. This was carelessness on Forrest's part. They grab his wallet he should have just let them go! its a fuken wallet! Cards can be cancelled! Sad sad sad story.
RIP Champ.
This is very close to the worst thing I have ever read, it is in no way Forrests fault whatsoever, to even suggest otherwise is so beyond stupid that it makes my head spin.
It's like saying people who die in plane crashes are at fault because they travel via plane. Totally ludicrous.
I can't work out why he didn't spank Taylor at least once. He only ever seemed to start throwing them in the last 6 rounds, against Pavlik he started from the word go and dominated.
American commentators are ridiculously bias when it comes to international fights.
In the Dibb fight on the Hopkins undercard the commentating was disgraceful.
Clottey is a hard sell, Mosley and Money are both big American names, with Mosley thought to be the top WW since Marg, of course it's going to have more hype.
I reckon it's very risky fight for Floyd no matter what the weight, Floyd wins everyone says meh, he was supposed to, Floyd loses and he's going to be humiliated and ridiculed big time by the public. I don't see it being about money either because he could pull big numbers fighting almost anyone.
I say it adds a name to his resume but a W is expected.
What weight would Oscar and Trinidad fight at? I mean, realistically, it is a guy who fought at welterweight in his last fight against a guy who fought at LHW in his last fight.
Makes little to no sense.
Mosley would dice Oscar's ass to shreds at this stage. He shows he still has it and Oscar just doesn't, at all.
Ahh of course, I forgot the Jones fight was at such a heavy weight. Still Oscar fought B Hop who's now a light heavy, I daresay Trinidad could and would be willing to make a catchweight around the middle to super middleweight.
It's more just an idea if either of them wanted one more fight and pay day it makes sense.
How about 1976??
1973
Champ- George Foreman
1. Muhammad Ali
2. Joe Frazier
3. Ken Norton
4. Jerry Quarry
5. Ron Lyle
6. Earnie Shavers
7. Oscar Bonavena
8. Joe Bugner
9. Jimmy Ellis
10.Chuck Wepner
The top 5 certainly looks impressive enough
Who are these ATG from 6-10???
How about 1976??
1976
Champ- Muhammad Ali
1. George Foreman
2. Ken Norton
3. Jimmy Young
4. Duane Bobick
5. Ron Lyle
6. Larry Holmes
7. Howard Smith
8. Johnny Boudreaux
9. Stan Ward
10.Joe Bugner
Now Tell me A Klitschko couldn't compete.. Tell me Lamon Brewster couldn't compete..
A Klitschko couldn't compete, a Lamon Brewster couldn't compete. At best they'd be fighting it out with the 5-10. Also Larry Holmes isn't a nobody.
I can't see how there are any current heavyweights that are anywhere near Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Holmes or even Shavers to an extent.
Respect him but didn't find him to be that good, you couldn't call him a journeyman but in reality he lost to most of the top flight opposition he faced.
I'd like to see him take on Trinidad or Mosley and finish. Probably Trinidad as they've both looked past it and have a score to settle.
fight JMM & not SSM or any other credible WW?
can u fan boys please explain this?
Sigh... It's ok because JMM called Floydd out, Floyd fights at welterweight, so tis assumed that JMM would be willing to go to welterweight.
As I've said previously, did anyone expect Adamek to come down to light heavy when Hopkins called him out? Or did you all expect Hopkins to move to cruiser?
Exactly.
What he said
So why would he fight a guy who's never fougth at that weight???? Sure I can spar with a top ranked 15 year old kid and looke great, but its much harder with someone my own size.
Look, JMM called him out and Floyd figured he'd say yes, he says no and everyone goes 'Oooo Floyd don't want any of JMM, fancy ducking a dude half your size'
Realistically if Floyd says the fight is to happen at 147 and JMM feels that's too high then the fight shouldn't happen because it's just unrealistic. If it's anyone's fault really it's JMM for calling out a guy that hes not actually prepared to fight.
can u explain why? thanks dude
I'm just spitballin here but I'd imagine that the skull protects the brain quite well everywhere except the stem, which is located at the lower back of the head. So if you get hit hard there it may well be lights out.
