This was supposed to be a huge superfight, so I'm wondering what kind of drawing power Pacquiao and Hatton have these days. I know I bought it. You'd think I'd be regretting it being that it only went 2 rounds, but I was pretty satisfied. I enjoyed watching it so much (and many times over being that it's on my DVR), but I dunno... something about Hatton's face during the knockout just makes me feel very sad.
The economy is better than it was for DLH-Pac, and that fight did great nums. Driven by Oscar, of course.
DLH-Pac did TRinidad type nums. More than Mayorga, Hopkins, mosley, Vargas.
dlh-pac was barely 4 months ago.
it's getting worse not better imo.
I thought it was a pic from the calzaghe-kessler conference. Perhaps after the staredown.
Realistically though, whats hotter than two dudes posing in a SMILEDOWN?
Less than Mayweather-Hatton, you feel? Why?
Can we count the ways??
Both Mayweather and Hatton were both undefeated, number one in their weight classes, polar opposites of one another, but most importantly.....BAD BLOOD.
You had the "good guy" vs the "bad guy" and a fight it is just that more easily hyped when Floyd Mayweather's involved. Whether you showed up to watch him win one for America or you showed up to watch Ricky try to shut his mouth....you showed up.
Um,
DLH-Pac did 1.3 and Floyd-Hatton did 850K
Your math is a bit squirrelly there.
my bad, i was thinking Floyd-DLH. And yes Pac/Hatton will do better then Pac/DLH and FLoyd/Hatton but not better then DLH/FLoyd.
It's a tender moment between two men in love.
What makes you ask?

LOL, Bob Arum would say that and say that people from outerspace bought it. lol OLD ASS BUZZER
I just wish he had children, so I could stomp on their testicles! Then he could feel my pain..

True, but this fight will do better then DLH-Pac. But not as much as Floyd-Hatton because we are still in a bad economy. It will be somewhere in the middle. Maybe even closer then the middle.
And DLH-Pac did great numbers because of the advertisement. It seemed every where i went i seen "THE DREAM MATCH" up.

Not ot speak for Left Hook, but Mayweather, like him or not, is a big star in terms of boxing. Commercials now, TV spots, HUGE pub-tour, big fight just fought with De La Hoya (even bigger star), TOTAL HBO SUPPORT, Dancing With The Stars. May all sound like little bits, but they add up.
Not to mention that both fighters who fought Demember 8th, spoke English Which, good or bad, matters to the public. Mayweather knows big Hollywood names, as well.
That PPV sold over 800K. As great a number as that is, it's almost a letdown. Nonetheless, INCREDIBLE impressive, considering the economic climate and the fact that these were WORLD stars. Not just American stars.
Yeah I'm guessing it's somewhere around 1.5 mil...
...Tua, you should totally let me borrow 30k points for a little bit. I'll pay you back, you know me I'm good for it.

I hear you man, I wasn't really going for either fighter, I love an under dog so I was probably favouring Hatton but the head said Pac.
I just feel like Hatton didn't deserve to get destroyed like that, I just watched it again on youtube andit really makes me feel very sad for Hatton.
Not to sound like a cynical asshole, but sometimes the best thing for a fighter to have happen to him is to get blitzed. Maybe this is the end for Hatton, and maybe nothing would let him realize that more than this.
Imagine if he'd have taken that punishment for 8 or 9 rounds, then got that shot to the chin. The decision to retire might not have been his to make at that point.
