Nice to see he is okay lol, this might have helped his career. If you still hate Broner your an Ass hole. Just like those people throwing **** at him, that was truly pathetic.
I agree its pathetic to degrade a man after he loses. "I Left With His Belt And His Girl". Broner actually deserves it though.
Not sure why OP didnt use Victor Ortiz as an example, he was supposed to be the new ODLH. Taylor was a legitimate fighter, he just declined rather rapidly.
What does Broner do better than Berto? I cant think of a single thing. I can't see Maidana dominating Berto the way he did Broner and I can't imagine Broner going 12 with the Ortiz who showed up to fight Berto. Berto is better in every category.
Not to mention his best win was over Berto,a fighter who clearly belongs on this list..
The difference being Ortiz is a mental midget and Berto was just overhyped. Both of them were still capable of presenting challenges to good fighters in the WW division. Broner got outjabbed by Marcos Maidana, only Lacy is in that category of being exposed imo.
Maidana is f*cked. I don't think he did anything, but this the TX commission we're talking about. Schaefer: Adrien Broner Can Still Become PPV Headliner
If he throws 10 punches a round against Rios he gets stopped. Broner has a bad habit of letting people bring the fight to him, Rios would be more than willing.
Berto is the much better fighter. I really think the Broner comparisons are disrespectful to Berto. Berto is better technically, he doesnt get hit as cleanly, he throws more punches, he hits harder and he comes to fight. Broner really didnt show anything that makes me believe Berto wouldnt dispose of him if he they ever fought.
Berto holds the advantage in power, activity, aggression and experience. The rest of the categories are about equal and I cant think of one area where Broner holds a significant advantage. I think berto gets to Broners chin and eventually stops him. I don't think broner lasts three rounds with Ortiz.
Lets have a look shall we
Boxrec rankings, someone from 50-100 with a bit of a name...
Michael Grant?
Perfect.
I havent seen Grant lately but if he's the same fighter he was against Adamek that's a huge step up for Wilder. I wouldnt even mind that fight compared to these guys he's been fighting.
lmfao....and there you have it..saw this coming from a mile away...to bad he didnt out land him in more rounds
Do you actually have the punchstats? I havent seen the fight in quite awhile, never remember seeing the punchstats broken down.
What kind of bullsh*t is this?
1942 at age 21 he fighting at WW.
By The mid 40’s still in his early 20’s he was reguraly fighting above the WW limit.
By age 30 he was a strong, solid MW.
They are not remotely the same size Robinson is clearly much bigger than Mayweather who at the age of 36 has maxed out and small at 151 lbs.
Not exactly. He was still a rather small MW at age 30. Definitely bigger than Mayweather, but still small by MW standards.
Berto, Judah, Alexander or Peterson are the best options for him. Lots of tough come forward guys at 140-147 and I think they all give him problems. I'd have trouble picking him over 2nd tier fighters like Ortiz, Rios and Alvarado.
Exposed is probably the most overused word on this entire forum, but this is one of the few instances where I feel it's use is appropriate. Broner was outboxed and out jabbed as well as outfought. He didnt have answers for anything Maidana did. I don't know how he thought he was the next Floyd, withouth the reflexes or foot movement. With average foot speed, decent power, a come forward style while lacking the reflexes needed for a Floyd style defense, he'd be better off trying to emulate a Winky Wright style of boxing. He'll never touch Winky in terms of accomplishments or skill, but it'd be a better fit for him than trying to be Floyd.
I also think the Berto comparisons are unfair, Berto does everything better than Broner does except for the shoulder roll where they're about equal. Berto was overhyped too, but he has real pop and very fast hands. His boxing fundamentals are also better than Broners. I wouldn't even rank Broner up there with Joel Julio off of Saturdays performance.
I'd be interested to see how 122lbers reacted to Malignaggis punches. I'd imagine the 30lb weight difference would lead to Paulie being able to hurt Rigondeaux, but Paulie isnt even a Juan Diaz or Bradley type of soft puncher who can occasionally stun their opponents. Probably still doesnt punch as hard as Donaire, but he has much better fundamentals. His jab may be able to mark Rigo up pretty badly.
I saw it in him in the Diego Corrales fight,
never seen anything like that since prime sweet pea.
Truly a once in a lifetime fighter.
If you hadn't seen anything like it since Sweet Pea wouldnt that not make him a once in a lifetime fighter? Like a once in a decade fighter maybe?
People still talk like Roy had nothing but athleticism. :nonono:
Let Floyd weigh in at 164 and immediately go back down to weigh in at 147 and see if his reflexes aren't affected at all. Roy had tremendous skill to go with his physical gifts, or he never would have been as good as he was.
They fail to see that the athleticism allowed him to go beyond the fundamentals not ignore them. It's kind of like criticizing a Lamborghini for not being a Model T.
In order for me:
Floyd v Maidana- i'm a huge floyd fan as NSB knows
Sergio v cotto-good matchup on paper, older guys but cotto could make history
canelo v angulo-this will probably be the most action but its 2 guys coming of a loss
tim v manny-seen before; i expect same outcome
Lol, Manny easily handling Bradley and losing on the cards again would be more entertaining than their entire 24 rounds in the ring together.
He was obviously willing to support her while he was capable, he's just no longer capable. She got to live in a nice home for 20 years rent free, how much do people think he owes her?
damn are ya'll still on this crap?? according to posters before the fight Garcia was going to get killed in the ring by "THE MACHINE"
Yall? You mean Garcias family? People thought Matthyse would kill him, instead all he was capable of was making Garcia piss blood. Cant believe how wrong people were.
I'd prefer Brook-Broner, but this fight is still intriguing. I was high on Brook a few years back, but his career seems to have stagnated. Khan may have the chin of a prepubescent girl, but he's never in a dull fight.
