Shane Mosley landed more power punches than Miguel Cotto in 8 of 12 rounds, and edged Cotto 177 to 150 power punches. Total punches landed were identical at 248.

Why do people argue that this fight was clearly won by Cotto and that the fight was not close? Forget about total compubox stats, look at the rbr totals and look at the fight, and look at Cotto running the last 4 rounds.

Ask DoktorSleepless to try and find it. If he can't find it, then it probably doesn't exist.
If you're still mad over that, here's the final nail in the coffin for you. If google can't find it, it doesn't exist.

I guarantee you it was well over a month ago. It was months ago. In November I was mostly in the arcade forum, and in September-October I was mostly inactive because of school semester. And I am terrible at finding posts I made in the past, I tried everything and could not find it. Ask DoktorSleepless to try and find it. If he can't find it, then it probably doesn't exist.
Edit: And yes in the OG post I did say the same thing I am saying now, that I watch the highlights of some and watch another.
This is how good I am.
Boxing. I have no interest in face first brawling.
I give exceptions to guys like JMM, because when he does it, there is some intelligence behind it.
I have yet to see the Marquez-Vazquez trilogy, only highlights, and I have only seen highlights of Gatti-Ward. The thing is, I don't want to see them. I'm not interested, I don't care about those fights, I will never be convinced into watching them.
A good boxing/brawl hybrid like the Marquez-Pacquiao 4 fight series is a must see.

Exactly, I said I have seen highlights. I knew GD had edited my post to his liking. Anyway, I don't know why this is being brought up, I still feel the same about those fights and always will. If that's your preference, cool. My preference is May, Hop, Ward, etc, don't try shoving your favorite style down my throat.
lmfao....and there you have it..saw this coming from a mile away...to bad he didnt out land him in more rounds
Do you actually have the punchstats? I havent seen the fight in quite awhile, never remember seeing the punchstats broken down.
Why?
I thought Cotto-Clottey was a fight that could have gone either way. I couldn't really make a case for Mosley beating Cotto though.
I don't think you're a guy that would be confused with favoring Cotto unfairly.
HOLA PUTO :notworthy

Dude didn't even see the trilogy but calls it face first brawling?
Joke of a poster. Comments about things he didn't even see first hand. There was plenty of technical skill in all three of those bouts. kelvin just wants to see 10 punches per round with 8 parries by each guy with a jab and punch landed by each. He'll comment about the great footwork and elusiveness of these pure boxers while everyone else is leaving the building. Then he'll come cry here about nobody knowing schit about boxing.
BTW GD, no one said anything or "called me out for it" because I did not say it nearly as evil as you are making it out to be. You put it very bluntly and did more than paraphrasing. Also, the context of the post was not like you are making it out to be either. I could be wrong, but the subject was making fun of a certain style and how boring it is, and how fans will not be there for you when you retire with brain damage but demand you to fight like a savage. That's why I didn't get called out for it, because it made sense. I could be wrong, but I am sure the context of the post was how unsafe and unworthy it is to fight that way.
I didn't "obstruct" your post, that was essentially what you said. I did try to find it in your post in your history, because quoting it straight up would have been much more brutal exposure - but I couldn't find it, post histories only go back 8 pages and you've done a lot of Pac/Cotto/GGG hating since then. Conceivably it might still have been in there but as you can imagine, I didn't want to wade through your other posts to find it.
BTW, it wasn't even that long ago - maybe a month? So I doubt you posted that you straight up wouldn't watch it....only to then go and watch it. It was such a amazing post - amazing in the sense that no-one called you out on it. I was ready to but the site crashed on me when I tried to quote it.
I will Green K if you can find it. Thanks, my man :boxing:

When Dirk says he had Cotto winning, that means something.
I will not address the second part :lol1:
Why?

I watched the fight about three times and each time my mind said to me that Mosley won. I don't agree it was a clear victory for Cotto at all but I would agree that it was close. I think Cotto was the favorite in the fight so the judges put their thumbs on the scale, a little pro-Cotto.
I also wondered why Mosley accepted the call without complaint. He is an even-tempered, classly dude. I can picture what Mayweather's or some other fighter's reactions would have been to that decision.
I agree although I thought it was a draw, I certainly don't see it as clear cut but I have no real issue with Cotto winning as it was close.
Even if you disregard compubox, you can watch the fight with your own eyes and see it was a draw and that nobody clearly won.
I keep reading Cotto won a close but clear decision. How, when he was outlanded in power punches in 8 out of 12 rounds? Fight could have gone either way and Cotto did landed the more cleaner punches, that is an opinion of yours, not a fact.
How do you measure the impact of a power punch?
I remember watch this fight and noticing how Cotto was backing off (or running) in the last 3-4 rounds, even the commentators thought he was hurt, but I think he just gassed and wanted to conserve the little energy he had left, I thought he won the fight by a point at the time (I scored one of the rounds 10-10) but I haven't seen it since.
Never saw the stats but I had Mosley winning, just like I did Clottey against Cotto
As did I...Cotto got very lucky with the water spill lmao...Clottey seemingly thought he was supposed to fight to win that fight, then he went to Texas gave the worst acting job in the history of the sport and has been tossed lmao.
I had Shane doing far better than Clottey, I really hoped for a rematch, I found Shane & Cotto to be a good fight.
Cotto won a 7-5, 8-4 type decision.
Compubox should always be taken with a grain of salt. It had Tony Thompson out landing Wlad and Gatti landing over 40 punches on Floyd lol
Solid 7-5 win for Cotto.
I thought he lost to Clottey though

I wonder how many people in this thread have constantly harped on CompuBox for being sh*t.
I've never understood how this fight could possibly be scored for Mosley. Seemed clear to me.
