It's crazy how both had this type of experience...both were hyped like crazy, and they were both undefeated when they faced their conqueror who was supposed to be a stepping stone for bigger things.
Berto-Ortiz
Broner-Maidana
What do you guys think?
its only racist if a pac fan made that comment. to the floyd fans, pac fans = all asians.
Yeah except no ones talking about Pacman here, except for you. Get lost.
Huey the rules of the forum is if you're black, you are a broner fan. Yeah I just found out myself...
Also do not be objective because even when you are, you have a hidden agenda to promote black fighters.
All my Vietnamese friends are either Mayweather or Marquez fans, I guess they are frauds to the Pactard community.
I'm a Spaniard, btw...
You know what's funny? I don't like Broner and I've not been a fan of Floyd for half of a decade and not very many people run around boxingscene ever calling me a racist.
I talk crap about them both damn near every chance I get. Perhaps it's the racial undertones that certain folks use constantly that gets them called racist, just saying. When they decide to try and insult an entire race while acting coy about it.

Many of us said this long ago. You just assumed it was racism or haterism though.

Berto has more heart and is a lot more tough. But they both have a flawed shoulder roll. I will call it face roll, since they barely block punches with the shoulder.
I don't know about that..When Berto loss to Ortiz he did not show that much toughness,he laid on the ropes..He got totally beat up by Guerrero and the one fight he did show some gut's and fight all the way throughout it..He was stopped by Karass..AB fought Maidana all 12 rds..I would have to say AB showed more toughness then Berto..AB needs to know how/when to move about the ring..If he can figure that out,he still has a chance to be a really good fighter..
i got him more like Jeff Lacy!
Yes! Both guys are stiff and unweildy with good power and sluggish feet. Both guys have no concept of angles and how to set them up.
They both failed to dispose of the one guy that could have catapulted them to the next level, both failed when using the shoulder roll, both got manhandled, neither took their loss like a man and both were heavily hyped.
Not saying they fight alike.
It is interesting to note that at least with Bronner, prior to facing Madiena, he had, for all practical purposes, lost a fight to a similar wild punching guy. The Daniel Ponce fight was instructive...Frankly if I had seen it prior to the Madiena fight I would have thought madiena would handle Bronner. As it was I figured Bronner would sneak by Madiena and then get starched....never been so happy to have been wrong!
Berto had many similarities, as you say...IMO Bronner really was a lot weaker prospect coming into his waterloo! I think both guys have a similar trajectory though Bronner is one of the most unpleasant human beings, via public persona that I have ever been exposed to in the media. Even when walking away with the guards, he looked like a pathetic mentally ill child...with a head too big for his body. :buttkick:
smh Berto is good he just been havin a lotta personal problems, he still got talent but his career may be over.
Broner can come back he just got caught wit a lucky punch an never recovered.
correction: he got caught with 50-70 lucky punches per round for 12 rounds straight
Been telling you, Dan.
When Pacquiao-Bradley 2 gets announced, you'll probably be surprised if Bradley could legitimately win that fight, too. You shouldn't be.
Nah, I think Bradley's got a good shot at winning the rematch.
Not easy though.

Who at 135 was a better option for Broner at the time? Truth is Broner could still be the best fighter at 135. That's a lot more than what Berto is. Fans are so fickle. Dude is 24, had a fight against a very good opponent and a style that he struggles with. Lots of potential and a lot of good fighters he could beat. Do you think Maidana is some middle of the road guy because he looked like a complete bum against Devon Alexander?
At 135lb he could have fought Vazquez or Abril..
