He is a perfect 154lber who fights at middleweight.
He's never made 154b in his life
He's a middleweight, the big advantage he has over Cotto and Canelo is his height and reach, don't get too caught up in weight.
Danny's a very good fighter, the top guys like Floyd and Manny would beat him comfortably but the rest he will be competitive with.
Brandon Rios should not be mentioned with those guys, he's not even a top 20 welter. Garcia would beat the **** out of him.
I love that Khan says he fought Judah and Garcia because they were his mandatories, errrr not they weren't. Both of those guys had belts, Judah the IBF and Garcia the WBC so they were absolutely not his mandatories.
I agree with another poster on here, Khan should retire, he hasn't improved since the Judah fight, that was his peak and he's done now. Might as well cash out against Brook and jack it in.
I thought Arum said it wasn't necessary? If this is true I've lost respect for Manny, I didn't like that move for the Cotto fight it was for for the Welterweight title it should be at Welterweight i.e. 147lbs.
I picked Collazo but I've just realised that the belt he has is 140 which aint gonna happen so none of the above. Paul Williams is the best fight for him and Floyd would school him
Didn't you see what Hatton did to Malinaggi?
Exactly, Paulie beat Juan Diaz WOW!!!!!!! Let's put him in with the best fighter in the world. PBF should fight Paul Williams at 147 or Berto/Mosley Winner or both
Pacquiao v Mayweather will not happen. Cotto v Mayweather could if Miguel is willing to step away from Top Rank to make the fight.
I love that fight!!!
I like Kermit but he's done, he just can't seem to put a run together of good results. I have to agree with one of the above posters, Canelo is fighting washed up or smaller fighters, if you don't think he's ready for top competition (Angulo etc) then he shouldn't be a 'World' Champion. The WBC is the the worst organisation.
Lewis was learning his trade, winning the British and European Titles when Tyson was knocking over the bums. Tyson peaked when he was 20 and Lewis peaked when he was 32. In my opinion prime Lewis beats prime Tyson every day of the week. Tyson isn't a great HW Champion but was great for boxing with the money and interest he brought to it. Lennox Lewis is a top 10 ATG HW Champion.
Chisora's keeping it real, he talks a lot of **** but what he said about US HWs is true, look at Deontay Wylder, he's 26-0 and still fighting cab drivers. Seth Mitchell got exposed too.
Tyson Fury's had half the fights Wylder's had and his competition is far superior.
He doesn't have the power to carry to 147, he should stay at 140 for as long as he can comfortably make it. I think him staying at 140 is Hunter's influence, and its the right move.
I think it's been excellent, other than Pac Man of course.
Marquez was coming off a great win against Juan Diaz, people made a lot about the weight but Floyd isn't a massive welterweight. Floyd was very good but I think he could've stopped Marquez if he'd tried harder.
Mosley was the most avoided man in boxing (other than Paul Williams) and had to pretty much beg Floyd for the fight, Freddie Roach had already said no, even at 140. Floyd was masterful even after Mosley caught him in the second round.
I thought Ortiz had a good chance against Floyd, he was HUGE at the weight and had come off a great performance against Berto. Floyd had had a 16 month lay off but come fight night he was masterful again and Ortiz got what he deserved.
Cotto is a world class fighter and a future first ballot HOF'er, he's not the fighter of 3 years ago. He has a settled camp, he avenged the Margarito defeat and is comfortable at the weight. I had Floyd winning 116-112 despite him being in a weight class his body is clearly not designed for. He led on my card from start to finish but was backed up by Cotto and did take some nice shots but nothing like the Mosley fight. He could've stopped him in the 12th but he was leading enough that he didn't have to.
I've never liked Hopkins, once he said "I'll never lose to a White Boy" that was it for me, that's unacceptable in this day and age. He's constantly trying to foul and milks non-fouls, his biggest strength is his mental game and I respect it immensely as well as his discipline but overall boxing will not miss him as an active fighter.
Only Martinez.
The only reason he could is because of his size, he's far too big for Mayweather who doesn't belong any higher than 147. At 147, nobody beats him.
What he said ^^^
