We have seen ups and downs and surprises/and some not so much of a surprise, this year in boxing.
I think it's almost that time to start deciding who will win Boxingscene's NSB Fighter of the Year for 2016.
Its gonna be quite simple. Nominate your fighter and please put down as to WHY/Your Reasoning for such nomination.
If you want to nominate a fighter and that said fighter has a nomination already, just quote that post and type "I second this etc etc etc"
I will put up the poll next week on wednesday and voting will continue for the top 5 fighters nominated until 6th of January 2017 and on the 7th (saturday) the poll will be closed and counted to announce the winner of said polling.

I found this list on a website... maybe itll help some remember all/if not most of the fights.

I voted Frampton, can't argue with Loma who did win in more dominant fashion but I gave Frampton the edge because he beat two good undefeated titlists in two divisions. One of those as a underdog.
This board makes me sick! Joe Smith jr. is really doing well.....unbelievable -- I don't think I want to vote for any of these boxingscene awards anymore!!!
I voted for Joe Smith Jr because I felt that his stock went up the most from where it was at going into the year.

Ultimately, I voted Lomachenko. I was going to choose Gonzalez, who had a good year, no doubt, but Loma had truly exceptional performances. I don't think he lost 10 seconds this year, he got stoppage victories over good fighters and was completely dominant en route to doing so. He had fighter of the year performances. If he doesn't get it this year, I'm not sure how much more dominant, over good fighters, he'll have to look to actually earn it. I wouldn't gripe if the BWAA give it to Gonzalez or Frampton, altho I can't honestly believe they looked any more the fighter of the year, especially when their opponents earned rematches in competitive fights.
Joe Smith
Lomachenko
Frampton
Crawford
Ward
Gonzalez
Charlo
Corrales
Pacquiao
Usyk
There you got 10. It's almost certainly going to be Frampton given how the thread has been going.
Yamanaka instead of either Smith Jr or Charlo. Yamanaka knocked out Moreno this year, which is itself one of the top 10 wins of the year plus he defeated Solis, which looks all the more impressive considering Solis deserved the decision against McDonnell.
Frampton.
After him there's a group of guys who have had a mixed year. Pacquiao had a win over a good p4p entrant who has been among the best fighters on the planet for a long time. He looked great too but then the Vargas figh twas sloppy and slow and Pac, although he won easily, looked a shadow of the guy 6 months earlier.
Lomachenko got the Walters win but I think that's more of a case of Walters being flattered by the donaire win than anything else. Still its a fight that set up a top guy in the division. Crawford had Postol and much like Walters, Postol was a one trick poney too. Corrales dethrowned a long time champ...twice. Smith had a great year but that is relatively speaking.
So basically Frampton...and then anyone else.

Would ya be interested in doing multiple votes...
I would say the most you can vote is 3...
Vote for your top 3 for fighter of the year. Most votes wins of course and we can have a 2nd and 3rd place.
Nah this poll is getting over marinated as it is. Literally the first moment you have after Uchiyama-Corrales you should put up the 5 or 10 most popular names from this thread into a poll.

It's Carl Frampton for sure. He beat his arch rival in a unification bout and then moved up and beat one of the top champions and took his belt in a FOTY candidate.
