Why do people act like GGG is a GIANT middleweight unfairly boiling down in weight to knockout midgets?
Fight night Weights of Middleweights, and those around the division:
GGG weighed in unofficially tonight at 169lb.
Alvarez weighed in at his last fight at 175lb.
Geale weighted 182lb.
Chavez Jr. 180lb.
Angulo vs Canelo - Canelo 175 - Angulo 174
Sergio Martinez 169lb
"I would love to fight Martinez but I don't think it is possible because of the weight. Martinez's people say that he is a small middleweight and they are right," said Ward.
So Martinez at 169 is too small, GGG at 169 is a coward that need to move up in weight with no catch weights and fight Andre Ward on his terms.
Ward vs Paul Smith, Ward 185+ in ring.
Kovalev last fight, 184 in ring.
Now who should really be fighting someone his own size?
He is a perfect 154lber who fights at middleweight.
He's never made 154b in his life
He's a middleweight, the big advantage he has over Cotto and Canelo is his height and reach, don't get too caught up in weight.

There's a thing that you are missing. In New York there are no unofficial fight night weights available after what happened to Joey Gamache when he fought Arturo Gatti. The weight difference of Gatti between weigh-ins and fighting was so big that there was a massive public outcry which actually started a lawsuit. The NYSAC reacted by not allowing second day weigh-ins, or at least publishing these weights. However, there are check weigh-ins by the IBF which are typically done around 6 am in the morning. Fighters are allowed to gain 10 lb over night. Golovkin was 169 lb there. He weighed 173 lb at fight night for one of his last fights.
He's a guy who could/should cut to 154 but chooses a milder cut at 160, like Martinez, and gives up those 6 (give or take) pounds to his opponent.
He's slightly lighter in-ring than Canelo.
He's being told he isn't "legitimate" until he beats a fighter who cuts to make 172 pound catchweights and is notoriously difficult to negotiate with. By people with agendas clearly falling outside of boxing.

Dude, I can't argue with those numbers nor your logic. Green k your way, I like the logic used and not the petty fan girl responses!
Why did Genady call him out then? Why do Golovkin fans keep insisting it's an easy fight for him? You guys can't have it both ways. Pick an excuse and stick to it.
First, Ward is NOT an easy fight for anyone. Even if he was moving up to fight GGG, he would be a tough fight, and probably win for ward.
2nd. GGG has always had his priority on unification first, other things second. I believe it was Ward to started putting GGG's name in his mouth to regain relevance during the Froch GGG talks.
3rd, where is the call for Canelo to fight Ward? Canelo is bigger than GGG.
Where is the call for Canelo to move up to 168?
4th if ward is so good, why can't he do the hardest thing in boxing, and move DOWN in weight?

It's just like the idiots who say that Cotto is too small for GGG, but it's ok for Cotto to fight Canelo lol
Why did Genady call him out then? Why do Golovkin fans keep insisting it's an easy fight for him? You guys can't have it both ways. Pick an excuse and stick to it.
It's not an easy fight for Gennady. Experience, resume, and style says Ward wins. You just need to sort out GGG fans and boxing fans.
Then again I'm partial to Ward because he's from the Bay Area.
The fight is 60/40 in favor of Ward

Ward and sadly Cotto are both giant cvnts. I'm not surprised about Ward but from Cotto it's disappointing.
