Tyson definately had the bigger punch ! He had one punch power that could knock you cold ! Lewis had a big punch but he mainly boxed and punished your face with his jab ! Its a tough pick Lewis had big one punch power ! I still say Tyson packed the bigger punch !!!
I can't stand Paulie ! I hope he gets KO'd maybe that'll shut him up ! I think Hatton will win this fight because he'll drag Paulie into a war just like Cotto did ! If Cotto couldn't KO him I don't think Hatton will and we know Paulie can't crack an egg ! I'm leaning towards Hatton ! i just cant see joe getting knocked down - if he does it'll just fir him up (ala byron mitchell), hopkins may have scored a KD but that was more of a push. joe has never to my knowledge even been hurt, maybe if one jones catches him flush with 2/3 shots maybe but with one flush shot - naaaahhhh.
He has never faced anyone with Roys speed or power ! RJJ has that type of flashing one punch power ! I'm sure Calslappy will get up ! But to say he won't be hurt ! I don't know ! Jones is faster and hits harder than Hopkins ! Calslappys style is tailor made for RJJ !

Maybe Felix Sturm will be at middleweight ? I think Calslappy had a protected career ! He's now fighting these guys that are past their prime (I still say an old RJJ will beat him !)! Before he fought Lacy who did he fight ? He hardly ever left the island and his biggest win to that date was a past his prime Eubank ! Maybe Warren was more to blame than Calslappy !
regardless its an ugly style. ruiz has an ugly style and we hate it too. hopkins' hold-n-hit & potshot style was equally reviled. in other words, calzaghe isn't being singled out for his slaps.
its not a double standard because we in the US are just as critical of protected boxers from the US. the true double standard is that we don't try and make something of them that they aren't. Nobody is calling berto p4p #1 except his nuthuggers. everyone knows the best compete in the US. plain and simple.
if calz really wanted the fights he would've humbled himself and made the fights to secure for himself future greatness. Calzaghe was the odd man out because he was protected by Warren and unknown in the US.

Good post ! I couldn't agree more ! Another point I would add why did Calslappy come here to fight a past his prime Hopkins and RJJ now ! I heard him say he wanted to show America Calslappy ! Why didn't he do this when they were in their prime ?
Personally I like Calslappy as a fighter ! I've watched him for years ! I don't mind attitude ! Toney I love hearing him trash talk it cracks me up everytime ! Nothing wrong with confidence in yourself ! Except for Hamad he annoyed me with his talk ! What I don't like is how all these Calslappy fans think of him as some all time great ! When really I can't think of a defining fight that would put him there and now Calslappy is believing the hype the fans have put on him ! If he wanted to be truly great instead of fighting these guys past their prime why didn't he come to America during his best years and fight them ?
Mayweather Jr. is one of those gifted fighters ! Margarito throws in bunches but I think he would land cleanly to beat him ! Mayweather Jr. has a great defense and he would pot shot him ! Mayweather by SD ! With people questioning who really won the fight ! Thats my opinion ! But who knows someone would've gave him his first loss ! Not sure if that's Margarito ?

He tried to come to America. Blame Warren for the fact that he didn't. Also, remember when Hopkins backed out of a fight deal in 2002, just days before the contract was due to be signed? Yes, Joe tried to fight him SIX YEARS ago. As far as I know, Warren also tried to arrange a fight with Jones several times. For what it's worth, and I know you can't trust everything that comes out of Frank Warren's mouth, Hopkins and Jones wanted nothing to do with Calzaghe back then. There's a documentary on Calzaghe where Warren talks about it. I forget the name of the doc.
Joe himself has been wanting to fight those guys for years, and he's been on video saying it. I have fights on video going back many years where he's mentioned it in post-fight interviews, etc.
This is the exact problem. People talk shit about Calzaghe because they don't know shit about him. They saw a few fights, and they think they know it all. Well, in boxing, there's a lot of politics. There's a ton of stuff we don't know about, and things are not always what they seem. People talk crap about Joe constantly, and most of it is out of ignorance.
You remember that Doc. let me know than I might believe ! You can't believe Warren at least 90% of the time ! From what I've read Calslappy would never leave his comfort zone ! Roy said he wouldn't go to England if Joe wanted him he would have to come to America ! Roy said the same about Benn ! As for Hopkins samething he wasn't gonna go to England ! That might be crappy by both fighters ! But if Calslappy wanted it bad enough he would've bought some airline tickets ! As for the contract signing ! I'm not sure with Warrens statement there ! He would've said something like that about RJJ and Benn !

This is a tough one ! I wanna say yes cause his prime he seemed unstoppable and he was my favorite boxer of all time since I started watching boxing! But what needs to take into consideration is early in his career he was carefully matched Rooney admitted this as did Atlas ! During the old days they fought all the time (most of the fighters )! Could an old veteran like Ezzard who had over a 100 fights figure him out ? Or Walcott ?
People rip on Marciano but 49-0 is still an accomplishment ! Also I believe the Ezzard would of beat a Berbick or a Bonecrusher smith ! Or The ol' Mongoose would've ate Spinks for breakfeast ! Basically Tyson didn't have a real tough heavyweight division himself ! Holmes was done past his prime ! So I'm gonna say no !
Another good slugfest was Moorer vs Cooper ! If anyone hasn't watched it chaeck it out on utube ! good slugfest ! If I'm correct it had 5 knockdowns the fight lasted 5 rounds !
I say Taylor ! I don't think he's as bad as people might think ! Kessler ins't no Pavlik ! Pavlik ins't as bad as he looked against Hopkins ! Styles makes fights and Kessler don't hit as hard as Pavlik ! I think Kessler is an overrated European ! So I go with Taylor ! Which I think Taylor will beat Lacy !
