I voted for GGG by KO, im surprised that such a high percentage of people voted GGG winning. Its kind of a 50/50 fight for me I change my mind every day. The x factor in this fight is GGG's aggression and respect for Canelo's power, if he fights him like he fought Lemieux or Jacobs then Canelo is winning easily. If GGG goes full terminator mode like he did against Brook then I think he has a better chance of winning. What made Brook's fight so competitive while it lasted was the fact that Brook could throw punches moving backwards, I don't think Canelo could do that. You can't just block and slip against GGG you have to move well too.
I agree! I enjoyed the fight a lot, the later rounds weren't as good as the first ones but there seemed to always be a good punch out during the last 15 seconds of each round. Is hard to see Thurman in a fight that isn't enjoyable
I also feel like Brook could beat Thurman if he avoids getting into a slug fest. Thurman imo has a lot more power than Brook but I feel like Brook is a sharper, slicker and more well rounded fighter overall. I have Thurman ranked 5th in the welter weight division at the moment.
Its hard enough putting him into the top 5 in his own division, even harder to put him top 10 p4p. Nothing against him but the top welter weights haven't been fighting each other yet until this year, maybe by the end of the year we will have an answer.
This year is an amazing year to be a boxing fan! A lot of big exciting fights are going down!
I pick Canelo by UD. I don't think that Lemiuex is sharp enough to get through Canelo's defense. It took GGG 8 rounds to TKO him and he ate a lot of brutal shots, so I doubt Canelo will be able to KO him. If Lemiuex works the body as much as he did against Stevens then Canelo will have a long night, but I still see him adjusting and being able to outbox him. I hope this fight happens soon.
Its like people forgot that Manny Pacquiao is still active. I have him #1 on my list. Imo he can beat anyone in the welterweight division which is the most competetive one right now.
I think Spence has the best chance of becoming a superstar out of those listed. I can see Crawford and Thurman becoming superstars too, I feel like Crawford should start moving up to welter soon within a year.
This year has been beautiful for boxing! Loving it, crazy part is that theres still some juicy fights left for November/December. This year has truly been phenomenal.
GGG vs Canelo in 2 days, Ortiz vs Wilder, Loma vs Rigo have me hype!!! AHHHHHHHH
McGregor looked like a power puncher before his boxing debut due to how small those UFC gloves are. His power doesn't transition to boxing. I can't imagine how much KO's someone like a prime pac would have if he did UFC, would only need 1 or 2 punches to slaughter someone.
I knew he was gonna get hit with a big upper-cut because of the way he was moving. That shot hit him right on the eye and he was moving towards it. I give Saunders props though, I never seen Canelo get hit that cleanly and getting countered like he did this fight, with the exception of Floyd.
We finally agree. BTW GGG boxed well, so some of what you were saying earlier I'm willing to admit was correct. Either way fight. Let's see 3
I want to see a 3rd fight but we all know GGG is just going to end up getting robbed again. Makes it kind of pointless
Fights that I noticed weight played a big factor was in Cotto vs Corley, Cotto looked huge and Corley still managed to wobble him. Cotto was super aggressive in that fight.
Canelo, their best 2 wins are about even but the rest of the wins slight edge to Canelo. Going back further Canelo wins too due to sugar shane and trout
