What's the largest recorded weight difference in a boxing match? Some people gain huge amounts of weight after weigh in's and has there ever been fight sanctioned that allowed a large difference in weigh for the weigh in?
Fights that I noticed weight played a big factor was in Cotto vs Corley, Cotto looked huge and Corley still managed to wobble him. Cotto was super aggressive in that fight.
Up to you to believe those numbers.
Their not rumors, they are facts. Every single time he jumped on a scale prefight, he was 150 and the highest was 152. Every fight night weight, was between 150 and 148. And he looked 148. Sometimes he look skinny like in the Mosley fight, where he was 148. Sometimes he has a very wide back like in the Cotto and Canelo fight, he was 150
He could've used an IV for roids, or having a bunch of coke in his system, or weed. We dont know.
But everytime he has done fight night weight, he was between 148 and 150. Everytime he jumped on a scale at prefight weigh-ins, he was the same. As I said earlier, highest he has been was 152 for Cotto. After that, he never weighed that much again.

Ya right. Why did he use an IV for severe dehydration then?

He said he was, and in fights between 2009 and 2015 his highest was 152 on the scale for Cotto fight. Other fights, it was 150. 148 is only 2lbs away, so if he says he was 148 then he most likely was.

No way Floyd was 148.

if you're counting HW the numbers will sound really off. if you're athletic and can punch you can do plenty of damage once you get above 180-190 lbs or so. yeah, 6'6" juggernauts hit harder, but not hard enough to warrant half a dozen divisions, the way a 50 lb weight advantage would when you compare a 154 lber to a 105 lber.
the biggest advantage in size that i think i've seen in a televised fight in the weight classes was gatti - gamache. gatti was a very strong puncher and he filled out well up until 140 lbs. gamache was not an athletic guy and not a big 140 lber at all. probably could have made 135 or 130 if he had the athleticism and musculature to operate at a super low body fat like gatti, many other world class boxers in their primes.
gamache was damn near killed in a couple of rounds. rumor has it that gatti missed weight on the scales and nevada was in on it. unnoficially he had about 15-20 lbs on him on the HBO scales. looked like a middleweight fighting a lightweight. gatti hit him with a combination that legitimately damaged gamache's brain. he almost died.
Gotta be at home and likely haye v valuev.
Outside of hw no idea
Holyfield/Valuev probably had the same disparity. Some places report the weight +/- 1lb for some reason
Are you talking about non heavyweight fights? Sergio Martinez vs Chavez jr has to be up there
Actually yeah i was i should have mentioned this lol :pat:
Heavyweight examples are still welcome tho, all interesting.
