Any time GGG doesn't KO a guy the GGG hate club will insist it was a robbery and the other guy won by a mile. Jacobs put up a good fight but GGG won fairly in most people's opinion who weren't GGG haters and the polls show this. GGG landed more punches than Jacobs in over half the rounds and scored the fight's only knockdown. It wasn't a robbery like Pacquiao vs Horn where Pacquiao landed twice as many punches and almost knocked Horn out.
Golovkin won but I don't think it was fair. I understand why he got the decision with the Canelo fight coming up. I also understand bad decisions are apart of boxing but it doesn't make it any better. Especially when someone dedicate all the time and effort, put up the kind of fight Jacobs did, and have a decision based on the implications of a future fight. I'm not a fan of Golovkin but I'm no hater. If you've been paying attention you know I have him as the slight favorite to beat Canelo. I also picked him to beat and stop Jacobs. I don't care about poll but I'm also aware enough to know mine is not the opinion that matter. Neither is yours or the other people's in the polls you're talking about.
I thought Pacquiao deserved to win but I didn't consider it a bigger robbery other than the fact that it was Manny Pacquiao vs an unknown school teacher and he derserved the benefit of the doubt.

This has been an amazing year rich of great matchups and entertainment, and the best has yet to come with GGG/Canelo and Loma/Rigo
we had careers ended, close fights best vs best, circus fight, we had everything
A lot of great fights this year. Despite Golovkin/Jacobs, Kovalev/Ward, and Pacquiao/Horn, there wasn't too many controversial fights.Any time GGG doesn't KO a guy the GGG hate club will insist it was a robbery and the other guy won by a mile. Great. Many fights that should have been made where made. That is unusual. The year still has almost 4 months to go and it has already had more good fights than most years.
Absolutely amazing year, the best I can remember - literally almost every fight I would have wished for at the start of the year has been made or is strongly rumoured to get made before the end of the year (Rigo/ Loma and Wilder/ Ortiz).
What's funny though is that I remember last year (which was pretty bad if I can recall) there were almost weekly threads on here moaning about how boxing is dying and how fighters are p*ssies nowadays etc. etc.
But this year on the other hand has been incredible and yet I haven't seen half as many threads being positive like this one is...
But anyway, well done for the best fighting the best this year :boxing:
Great year so far. Huge event, Floyd/Conor, where boxing was the #1 topic being discussed in the media. 2 huge fights-Joshua/Wlad and Canelo/GGG. The HWT division regaining credibility. Big fights like Ward/Kov and Sor/Gonzalez. The emergence of Crawford. Loma.
Showtime NOT airing Leo and Mares in BS tune ups.
The very best thing about 2017 will be the changing of the guard with Floyd, Shane, Wlad, JMM, Bhop, Cotto and hopefully Manny and Roy, all retiring.

Definitely the best year since 2010 and probably far longer than that.
The number of quality fights we've seen this year have been unbelievable. Further, the sport has done ridiculous #'s (compared to other years) when you talk about TV viewership.
Lots of drama but not as much fulfillment.
On the upside we had Thurman/Garcia, Spence/Brook, Broner/Garcia, Joshua/Klitschko, Charlo/Williams, DeGale/Jack, GGG/Jacobs, Crawford unified the division, and finishing strong with GGG/Canelo and Wilder/Ortiz.
On the downside we had Roman Gonzalez robbed in his first fight and likely retired in his rematch. Pac/Horn was ugly and ended in a robbery. Ward won another dirty fight. Of course the May/Mac circus came to town in 2017 as well.
Overall, a good year for boxing.
This year has been beautiful for boxing! Loving it, crazy part is that theres still some juicy fights left for November/December. This year has truly been phenomenal.
GGG vs Canelo in 2 days, Ortiz vs Wilder, Loma vs Rigo have me hype!!! AHHHHHHHH
