And not training well... and thinking he was bigger than his trainer... The Rubio\Alcine hiatus was bad for his career, no doubt ... But it came at the right time for him ...
Now Bring Canelo.... plz....
No way!...
It would be an "in-house fight"... with no truthful outcome whatsoever...
Rubio was at his peak years and on a hot streak.
Lemieux had 54 pro rounds of boxing and 10 of em against Naugler.
He had a lot of off ring issue like a lot of guys but he had no work ethic and thought he was a GOAT because of his power.
He was even worst vs Alcine than Rubio if you watched the Rubio fight (I doubt it), it was easy til he gazed and corner stepped in.
Take Lemieux at 28 vs Rubio at any age, Rubio doesn't win a lot of rounds.
All this is irrelevant to the post you quoted.
Regardless David is still the same fighter who is only going as far as his power takes him. You talk about his stamina as if it improved yet the guy was clearly flabby in the midsection and has been so for a while contrary to the Rubio fight in which he looked in tremendous shape.
pac got stopped several times by fighters nobody has ever heard of yet he still went on to became great. guys lose early in their careers it happens.
Yes and Pac moved out to the states and started training with Freddy Roach who molded him into the fighter we all know. Nobody had heard of Pacquiao until the Roach trained version who developed until and ATG thanks to drastic improvements in his style, training, nutrition, and surroundings.
Lemieux is not destined to be an ATG, and he hasn't made any drastic changes in his game. His style is virtually the same and the Rubio perfectly illustrated how dependandt he is on his power.
Ok even better :lol1: let's compare Hopkins losing to a "bum" in his professional debut in a 4 round fight by decision to Lemieux getting tko'd in a title eliminator....:lol1:

22 years old with 24 fights under his belt. Seems like enough experience to beat a guy of Rubio's caliber.
Point is Lemiux isn't a B+fighter, he has A level power but his overall skill level isn't anywhere near elite.
Agreed. People fall in love with power punchers. Lemieux is not exceptional on any level other than power and as soon as he faces another top notch boxer, his limitations will show. Stevens has never been that good. He's short, with short arms, a strange tick with his foot and very basic offense and sub par defense. Hell, he may actually have shorter arms than David who has T-Rex arms, especially for that division. Thankfully, the division is horrid so he may actually be in the top 5 at 160.
Curtis Stevens had his chin tucked well and was absorbing most of the bombs well, though I'm sure he was hurting from taking all that leather. I thought Lemieux was going to exhaust himself fight if he didn't either hurt Stevens or KO him. Maybe it was a good strategy to fight with all guns blazing. That's the scariest KO I've seen in awhile.
Alright man but I'm going off the next guy to say golovkin hasn't fought anyone lol
lol. :lol1: You won't hear me saying it after he finishes Danny. I'm consistent like that.
hopkins losing to a bum before fighting jones jr is what I'm referring to, numb nuts. lemieux is not the same fighter he was when he fought rubio

Stop reading what Maxi and Jubei say, I've got nothing personal against GG. In fact, I'm a little conflicted because I like both he and Danny J. Danny has a great story but I like Golovkin much better as a fighter.
Criticizing a guy's resume is just honesty. I love Calzaghe but his resume was not strong. Same for some of my other faves like Vitali. Hell, I like Guerrero and he's fking awful. Lol.

Ok so this Saturday no excuses?

No of course not those guys are ATG fighters unlike Lemiux.
I also wouldn't compare Hopkins losing to Roy Jones and Lemiux losing to Rubio :lol1:hopkins losing to a bum before fighting jones jr is what I'm referring to, numb nuts. lemieux is not the same fighter he was when he fought rubio
Yes, and he still hasn't. He will this month though.
If you're pissed because I think Lemieux is a sloppy boxer and finishing Curtis Stevens hasn't spellbound me, then sorry guy. I'm happy with the fight, I picked Lemieux to win, but in still not sold on him. It's fkn Curtis Stevens. Calm down.

hey idiot are hopkins and pac the same guys who lost to scrubs back in the early part of their careers?

Butthurt hater detected. Lemieux lost twice as a green kid with almost no experience and since then turned into a dangerous exciting fighter, tonight delivered a highlight reel knockout and yet you are hating. Look for another hobby.
You are a sad and lonely man who gets ragingly angry because people don't like the same boxers you like.
Yeah, he can be sloppy but he does have that serious punching power. When you can end a fight with one big punch that makes you a big threat no matter you fight. He can beat anyone at 160 (OK, not GGG).
Very powerful indeed. I've always agreed with that. Just terrible form and footwork. I wouldn't pick him over Jacobs, Canelo, or Charlo. But, I think I'd have him beating the current Saunders. That would be a good fight.

I think he's establishing himself as a serious top 3 now ... He could beat an overall better boxer like GGG with a better game plan and not offering his sweet little face to the jab like he did ... He has the power and just enough skills to upset anyone on a given day... That doesn't make him the best boxer at MW, but that makes him a threat to anyone in the division...
When Lemieux was a 20 year old green kid and not ready for an experienced Veteran.
