If you think the hate Loma receives is anything of note you simply haven't been paying attention. Amir Khan was trashed every time he fought by his own "countrymen"
No it is not. If Canelo was European, he wouldn`t be managed that carefully. And Saunders, Plant, Callum would be thrown to David Benavidez, not Canelo.
It is what it is. Take you purple glasses away and imagine Canelo was Irish.
If Clen was British/Irish there would be a 500 foot statue of him London, lol.
Yes his natural athleticism and power took him far but against subpar competition. As soon as he stepped up in competition, it was lights out.
It got him a belt which is crazy
Stevenson’s left hand was so dynamic he’s the exception to the rule.
True but I feel like there is plenty of guys in my local gym that just workout that could be serious contenders if they boxed. A lot of the current LHW crop aren't the most athletically gifted
Athletically speaking, there are freaks of nature out there that never put on a pair of gloves.
NATURAL speed and athleticism definitely is a huge advantage. Many boxers ARENT really very special. Most are just very TUFF and durable.
All that said, VERY FEW MEN can handle being hit REPEATEDLY. It’s the nature of the beast. Look at Paul being hit my a SMALL man. His body couldn’t handle it. He instinctively went to wrestling to STOP Mayweather
Most ON HERE think they can handle the hits. It isn’t fun nor glamorous.
So, NO not just any athletic person can do this.
Fair enough
This 168 era is so pathetic. Nothing memorable.
There used to be some good names: Joe Calzaghe, Andre Ward, George Groves, Carl Froch, etc. I used to be a big Groves fan. He was a warrior. I enjoyed seeing Dre beat Froch. So, white boys can't fight isn't true. It's the quality, attitude, and special effects in the ring.
The UK just isn't producing quality boxers anymore. Taylor or Fury. Who's next to lose?
The UK actually has a few promising prospects in the works, granted most aren't white.
Its hard to say but Pacquiao's fist dwarfs inoue look how huge pacs fists are its crazy how hard inoue can crack with tiny hands, Inoue knockouts are all from the perfectly time punch with the right amount of leverage he doesn't have that power Pac had where he can be off balance and hurt you.

Fist size is insignificant in regards to power. A lot of power punchers have small fists/wrists.
Deontay Wilder being the most glaring example.
Fury is the one who made Wilder what he is now. For 39 fights Wilder was unknown. Even a walk on Times Square no one recognized him.
I doubt even Canelo would be recognized if he walked through Times Square without his entourage.
