Has this shadowy Al Haymon guy ever made a star in his time in boxing?

Only people who speak negative about the Man are people who don't know him and never worked with him...EXACTLY! As a Adviser, his job is NOT to please us the fans, his job really is the make sure his fighter get PAID and try to help them avoid getting caught up in these Awful Deals with promoters and he does that very well. As for creating stars...so Spence, Wilder, Tank Davis, Thurman, Charlo Brothers, Benavidez, Plant...are they not bigger stars now than they was before PBC was created? I get it though, seems like one of these threads are created once a month it is created just the Bash and Argue about someone none of us even know personally. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Vernon Forrest was a major star that he himself developed. It’s sad when people are just naming Broner, Tank, Wilder etc like they were already known before they linked up with him, even Mayweather was already known. Most were riding with GBP before linking up with Haymon.

I doubt even Canelo would be recognized if he walked through Times Square without his entourage. Not likely. They even stopped people on the street to ask if they knew who Wilder was, most did not know.

Who's making stars in boxing nowadays? There's Canelo and then there's everyone else. Wilder has probably made more money and has a bigger name recognition than any boxer in the world besides Canelo. Spence and Tank are also up and coming stars with growing followings. Boxing just isn't as big as it used to be..and that's not all onAl..

These fighters arent really ambition driven that are free agents, look at Mikey boxing first real free agent, once he became a free agent he was driven to get himself into the limelight and once he did that he lost all ambitions and is only fighting for top dollar once a year at best. These other fighters haymon are just happy to wait till a big payday comes. They aren’t free agent’s. You think free agents would be fighting Montiel, or jumping up 2 weightclasses to scrap up Barrios when big money fights are available in their division? Have you never seen the Al Haymon “slave contract” that surfaced from the lawsuit with Main Events? These guy’s can’t negotiate without a written approval from Haymon, let alone accept a fight. Mikey Garcia is a complete free agent, Gary Russell like Danny Jacobs only have Al as advisor. They aren’t on the PBC gameplan. Randall Bailey was on livestream a few days ago, also said PBC guys have no say on who they fight. correction: free agents, but not the boss. In the words of Kenny Porter “we got the green light from Al Haymon”.

He definitely peaked under Top rank. There is still a lot of exceptions though. I mean there definitely is something preventing them from branching out in a way that would supersede Floyd. I remember Kid Chocolate got offered a title fight at 160 (I think against Korobov) and he had to either vacate or not take the fight. He then sat out a while and then got demolished when he was eventually offered a fight with Jacobs. I think it was Jayz's promotion that offered Kid Chocolate and Broner some big money at the time.

He's squandered a lot of talent that's for sure. Are PBC fighters so inactive because of Al's incompetence or because they really are free agents? wilder has made 70 mil in 3 years spence and tank are lower level stars...by lower level i mean they arent floyd, oscar, pac, canelo....but being a level below that isnt too shabby considering floyd was/is the biggest star of the last how many years? one could reasonably argue that canelo, with schaeffer and his partnership with haymon, was helped greatly by floyd and haymon...he was on floyd undercards and the fight with floyd himself greatly boosted his profile...all made possible by haymon and schaeffer the end Spence is unknown in most places and Gervonte is known no where exactly a few spots in the US. Tank is in no way a star

Haymon is the type of guy you sign with when you're an up and coming prospect who already has a buzz.
