I’ve said this for a while too, I think after his performances vs Gamboa and Linares people are now starting to agree.
At least the 135 version of AB actually looked impressive whilst people were hyping him up as the future of the sport.
There’s no way in hell this kid could hang with Teofimo or Tank. Even Ryan Garcia walks through him IMO.
Good call
I thought Haney would do enough to win, although I did say on a thread yesterday that Garcia winning wouldn't be a shock to me at all as I don't put a Haney on the same level as Tank. Regardless of how Tank's career is handled and opposition, I think he's the best of them all around those weights in terms of ability.
I've always thought a disciplined Teofimo would beat Haney too. Lopez is very very good when he's focused and has a sensible game plan.

He lost to Loma too.

you know your shit bro
good fking call
Full credit for betting on himself and winning in the away corner.
...and Haney is gonna have to do it again. I know everyone is assuming it'll be easy, but Kambo is gonna be hungry as hell to retrieve those titles. Who's to say that Haney hits a wall with his weight cut next time around?
Then he'll have one more fight left on his TR deal, probably against Loma (if he decides to return) or Teofimo.
Although I think Commey may be a bit too slow, I'd like to see how Haney would fare against a rangey puncher. I don't think Haney would be able to consistently half-step out of range with Commey.
Only two more names to add to the lineage: Davis and Garcia.
I have to mention Teo Lopez.
Haney would box circles against Garcia. Would like to see Haney vs Teo, or Loma, or Tank tho.
I think Garcia’s hand speed would be a problem for him. Haney has very quick feet but his defence isn’t that good IMO. 50/50 fight for me, I feel like Haney would win the majority of rounds if it went the distance but at some point Garcia could get to him.
Haney vs Loma is the fight to make right now though. Haney has proved himself to be a legit world champion and Loma is deserving of a crack at the undisputed champ.
You have to admit Haney is one lucky individual. He was able to go straight to the titles without having to go through guys like Commey, Pedraza, Nakatani, probably even Beltran would make him clinch like a leech.
Teo Lopez after the Nakatani fight, "No more tall fighters for me dad."
I still don’t see anything special about him. Does beating Kambosos suddenly make him a special fighter? Hell no.
Haney looked good last night though, he won easily. Can he do that against Loma? Tank? Even Garcia? I doubt it, but hey let’s see them fights happen.

I'm sure last night's performance won't have changed opinions of him, but Haney went to foreign soil and became undisputed champion. That has to count for SOMETHING, right?
