Also, if Oscar beats Mayweather = Huge
If Oscar loses but gives a great account of himself in the fight = Great.
If he loses badly = "he was over-the-hill anyway" and it wont deminish his career much.
This is a clever move by Oscar. He has always done this same thing... For the Hopkins fight, he said that Hopkins was the tallest mountain to climb and it was a huge mountain at that...and its a monumental opportunity, etc. He was pretty much setting himself up as a kind of under-dog... to make his attempt to climb the mountain look better, and make him look good win or lose.
Its the same thing with these injuries... If he takes the fight, it will be seen as a very gutsy move, and he will get much credit for simply accepting the fight, and will be praised win or lose for attempting to climb yet another great mountain. DLH has always been a clever guy... ;)
Wlad is not use to getting hit, because for like 40 fights and most of his career he hardly got hit. Plus, tall fighters tend to get hit on the base of the chin, which is every fighters weakest spot. Its just the mechanics of tall fighters. Tall fighters will always look awkward getting punched, or fighting on the inside. The shorter fighters that plod all night tend to get hit on the face and forehead, not on the chin. Taking uppercuts are as dangerous for short fighters as for tall fighters to take any power punch on the chin from the angles they tend to get hit with.
Until someone manages to outbox Wladimir and render his boxing skills useless, he will never be one-dimensional. For him to be one-dimensional, he would have to show that he cannot adapt to his opponents style. The way he boxes now, I think he is very versatile, much more versatile than the majority of other heavyweights who plod all night. Wlad may seem one-dimensional in the sense that he cant slug and trade, so he has to be a boxer puncher all the time...but thats somne weakass shit argument. What Wlad does, he does very well, and is good enough to beat anyone... thats doesnt spell out one-dimensional at all. If you label him as one-dimensional, then all other heavies are as well...dumbass argument to begin with.
bump
Hes the real deal, but hasnt fully developed yet. He has just about everything you'd want in an young fighter... he tends to fall in love with his power though. I think He would have a good chance against Hatton, if not a punchers chance. PBF schools him. Other than those 2 fighters, hes likely to dominate... I too wanna see some recent videos, Ive only watched one of his fights.
Im a huge Oscar fan... this is a great day :D i literally jumped out of my seat and started rambling something about 'who says DLH got no power??!!!!' :p
Wladimir TKOs TOney in the mid rounds, possibly late round. Toney will be eating left jabs all night, as he will be standing sideways to slip Wlads big right hand. Wlad will hurt him and eventually stop him off a short left hook- Wlads best KO punch. Toney's style is taylor-made for Wlad's jab/hook.
This thread stinks of Pacman nuttsack riders
If Pacman is this monster puncher, then why does he need to land like a hundred flush powershots on Morales or Barreras face to stop them?
He is an accomulative puncher, his strenght is his speed and workrate. not a crushing puncher at all, hits hard, but not huge.
I agree. Pacman gave Barrera a one-sided beating for 11 rounds and his face did not look like the way Barrera's face looked after 12 rounds with Juarez.
Prior to the Sanders fight mark my words Lewis would have had reservations about facing Wlad.
Lewis did have reservations, thats why he partially trained and instructed Sanders on what strategy to use so he would beat Wladimir. Lewis knew that if Wlad lost, he wouldnt have to face him. Why else would he try to help out a journeyman to upset Wlad.
I felt it was a draw, but this fight reminds me of the Hatton v Collazo fight, most people going to go for baby face coz everyone loves him.
I think so too.
I had it a draw, or a win for either guy by a point at most.
Wlad by early KO. Brock's style is all wrong for him in this fight. Wlad will be smashing him with his left hook and jab all night. Brock is not that big of a puncher either. Easy fight for Wladimir.
Morales's wide-ass punches get him countered viciously all night. Morales isnt fast either. Marquez is faster, the bigger puncher, the better counterpuncher, and his chin and stamina are top-knotch.
Marquez UD Morales
Marquez beats Barrera too.
Morales and Barrera have been avoiding him for years, for good reason though- high risk/low reward.
