klitschko vs toney in the works..

This could be a bad fight for Toney, for sure. If Toney is not in shape, this fight could be his retirement party. Wlad is way taller than him, and I think they'll school him well at keeping his distance and working the jab. Wlad will have to be in close for Toney to counter with his short reach, and I think he'll be coached to keep at his jabbing range. I can't see Toney winning this fight as the aggressor. He'll have to win by counter-punching, and I only see that happening if Wlad is stupid enough to get in close.

Damn i wanna believe Toney can do this but i doubt it,he has to prepare hella good and come in between 220-230 tops. But we all know how he is,doubt he will take it seriously and the more out of shape he is the worst the beat down is/will be.Even like this tho i still think he has a chnace if he boxes well on the inside and slips punches. The big thing is-u need power to make Wlad think about attacking u and not give him to much confidence.

Toney will make Wlad come to him. That will never happen... Even Rahman won't fall for that again. Wlad will follow only till he is within range, like he does in all his fights. It's a mismatch for Toney and he doesn't stand a chance.

Klit will beat Toney and probably inside the distance. That's if Toney takes the fight.

1st point- Toney never looked hurt to me against Rahman, but that doesn't mean Wlad won't hurt him. Toney has a good chin to go with good roll and head movement, so it's hard to hit him clean and flush or with a blind shot. Wlad would beat Toney handily. Wlad is good at holding on and covering up when the fight range gets uncomfortable for him, so fighting in close won't work for Toney. Wlad will be able to step back in long strides and jab/hook if Toney tries to bull in. Wlad's jab wins this fight similar to how it's won many others. It's probably the best weapon in boxing right now. 2nd point- This fight will not happen. I said it in the other thread that I don't believe Toney will take it. It could only happen if they give Toney some insane money that would make it be worth the risk (near certainty) of losing his shot at the WBC title next (against a much easier opponent for him, where he would have a chance to win and then make $$ defending...). this will be toney's 3rd HW title shot in 2 years (depending when the fight happens, or if it happens). after a no contest and a close draw, i dont think that toney should get another title shot so quickly. having said that, this is a really bad matchup for toney, IMO. wlads jab and right hand, his size and reach will be far too much for the short (and fat) toney. wlad is 6'6" and toney is 5'9", thats a good 9 inch height disadvantage for toney. and as rahman has proved, if toney isnt close enough to land his vaunted counter right hand, he cant do much. wlad's jab is vastly more effective than rahmans (and more consistent), so is his right hand. and if rahman used his jab more often, he wouldve beaten toney. toney's only chance is to counter wlad in close, but wlad will clinch like he did with peter, and probly lean on toney like he did with brewster, leaving toney off balance, winded, and most likely unable to effectivly fight wlad. i dont see any way toney can win this fight, especially when toney just cant get into shape. wlad by TKO.

klit-byrd 1 was suppose to be a tottal mismatch, foreman-ali was suppose to be a mismatch, tyson-douglas was suppose to be a mismatch these are to of the sports bigget names and it wont be aq mismatch TONEY will construct a gameplan like he does everyone of his fights and if followed will prevail wasnt klitshko byrd a mismatch, wlad ,destroyed byrd in both fights..

If Toney can manage to get into peak shape, I think he's got a shot here. He's mentioned in previous interviews that in fighting either Klitchko or Valuev, he'd look to stay in close to his opponents chest where they can't load up. It's a bad style match up for JT and his present shape puts him behind the 8-ball, but Toney's tougher, slicker, and harder hitting than Byrd, so I think he's got a shot. bozo do u think the winer if this fight should be recognized as the reall hw champ...
