Is Wladimir 1-Dimensional?

I don't think so.He has a good variety of punches to choose from.He is one of the better boxers at heavyweight.That isn't one dimensional to me.As for the jab and grab,he is just doing what Manny tells him.

most guys in the heaveywieght division are one dimensional.... i actually think as far heavyweights, he's not as 1 dimensional as most... he can come forward and attack and he can move a little, jab and box... but as far as all boxers are concerned, yes wlad, pretty much like most heaveyweights, is one dimensional... about wlad body punching, the guy is 6'6", not real popular for super heavey's to body punch and not a good idea for them to fight that low....

Iv only seen Wlad fight once, so i am in no position to judge, but he did seem a little 1-dim.

Wlad coulda have some variety but he don't. The fact that a jab alone can beat Byrd cuz he outweighed him by 30lbs is something significant. Byrd was a small guy, an uppacut coulda been used perfectly. BUT Wlad is 1 dimesional who only throws jabs and straights. dude, he threw uppercuts and showelhooks in his fight with byrd, ive also seen him going to the body its just seldom. wlad fightssafe cause off his chin and thats why clinches and mainly thows jabs and straights

it makes me wonder how chris byrd (214) could have ever beaten jameel mccline (270). impossible by your logic!! makes me respect wlad for beaten mccline, after all he was giving up 22 pounds to jameel, and people say castillo cheated cause of 2 pounds? did Jameel hug Byrd after throwin punches like Wlad does? Seriously, hugging an opponent takes alot of energy from em AND ADDS frustration. Not to mention, an unlikable tactic unworthy of respect. :cool: trust me, a guy huge (no homo) as Wlad don't need to hug opponents. He only does it to avoid gettin hit. Wladimir is multi dimensional. His size. The quickness of his punches. His strength of his punches. His movement for being so big. Great defense. Emanual Steward. He is very dimensional. I am wondering why this thread was created. Is it because Wladimir looked so good in this fight against Byrd, and the creator of this thread cannot believe what he just saw?

true, but I sometimes hate HBO crew fo their nuthugging extremeties. When Pacquiao fought, they always kept bringing up that Pac only has that straight left while they cheerlead Wlad who only has the straight punch himself, YET THERE'S NO mention of that from HBO. His style was developed for success in the Olympics. Since he got involved with Manny Steward he has added lateral movement and clinching to his repertroire, but as yet still hasn't perfected them. His footwork is still flawed and it amazes me that Chris Bryd didn't pick up on it. But having said that, he is still the class of the division and there isn't anybody in sight who is likely to beat him.
