There is many arguments you can make against Floyd but the size isn't one of them. I think regarding size the fight is very fair. You only have to look at early fights to see that Floyd wasn't depleting himself and there was not ballooning in weight over night.

Morales showed what you can do if you're not intimidated by he's power and use your boxing skills. That said Maidana undoubted still won that fight!

I've only just watched the fight and yes it's actually worse than I anticipated. Mares is downright dirty. Mora is an absolute vile ref but there was absolute no sportsmanship showed by Mares at the least the offender will usually initiate a tap of the gloves but nothing from Mares...they were absolute intentional.

I absolutely detest 10oz gloves in welterweight fights. What's funny is Mayweather has complained about having to use 'pillows' before (Hatton/Oscar) so if they are fighting with 10oz you know it's Mayweather who has asked for them to blunt Ortiz's edge in power. I hope it's not the case!
And remember being Neveda both fighters have to agree for 8oz gloves to be used. To be fair Floyd has a good track record here and I can't recall him making anyone use 10oz gloves. I also believe him when he said he's going for the knockout so wearing 10oz doesn't make sense.
There is no doubt Dawson's offense regressed for some reason. Yes his opposition has been more difficult, BUT he still only has one loss. I expect Dawson to correct his mistakes when he fights Hopkins. He also beat Glen Johnson convincingly the second time, the first fight was really close and could have gone either way.
To say Dawson isn't a 12 round fighter is simply not true because he's won most of his matches through 12 rounds.
Dawson will be fine. After the fight I was expecting to come to the boards to hear people impressed with him but was surprised when that wasn't the case. No doubt it wasn't a spectacular performance as I would give it a C+ but most importantly it was an improvement.
In regards to his offense regressing my only guess could be the constant rotation of trainers each with their own philosophies. HBO counted 8 :omfg:
