Just wanted to clear up the conjecture about Floyd's walking around
weight, as many posters seem to think he walks around at 1000 pounds btw fights, and rehydrates to 160+ after weigh ins (according to pullcounter).
Some deductive reasoning tells me Floyd's (current) walking around weight btw fights is btw 154-159 pounds. I would seriously doubt he has ever weighed over 163-65 pounds in his entire life.
After the Hatton fight Floyd retired and scaled back his training to let his body heal. This period is the longest layoff of his career, about 2 years. In the ring against JMM Floyd was as big as he has ever been (he refused to be weighed), i'd say 155-158 pounds. I don't think many people will argue this point......he looked huge in the JMM fight. He was smaller in his fight with ODLH and against SSM aswell (watch the post fight against SSM, i doubt he was over 150-153 pounds).
Now during a layoff where he is not training for boxing, but training in the fitness gym (as he put it) to stay in shape, one would expect he would put on weight. This is natural. In this "retirement" period we would expect him to get heavier than he has ever been btw fights previously when he was active....??? During this period Floyd did a stint on WWE and fought the Big Show. Not being a fan of WWE (i'm guessing most aren't as this hasn't been shown before) i have only just seen this footage (below). It is a weigh in for both men. Floyd weighs in @ 159 pounds. So after the longest inactive period of his career......Floyd is walking around at 159 pounds.
So if he was walking around at 159 at this particular time......how would he rehydrate to 160+ after a weigh in now?? The inactivity and keeping 160 pounds on his frame for 2 yrs is the reason he couldn't make 144 in the JMM match and put on so much weight after the weigh in.....i would say he was 156+. If you are constantly making weight every 6 months or in the boxing gym consistently it is going to be easier to "yoyo" in weight.
Given he is now actively boxing again and training harder than ever it would be ridiculous to think he is walking around at 160+. My guess is 154-158 MAX. I think this is evident in the SSM fight. He didn't look as big in this fight as he did against JMM.....he looked about the same size as when he fought ODLH.
Let me know what you think guys??????
Dude is coming in on fight night weighing 160+
Yeah he use to come in lighter back after this reason return, Floyd is clearly a bigger fighter, hence him not being able to get any lower that 146 for the weigh in against Marquez.
I mean Mosley comes in on fight night around the 160 mark and Floyd was bigger than Shane when they fought. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that Floyd isn't a small WW anymore.
Roger has stated that Floyd is a true 140lb fighter. Also the junk food diet is absolutely not secret he's stated it numerous times. HBO 24/7's/Countdowns etc
There is many arguments you can make against Floyd but the size isn't one of them. I think regarding size the fight is very fair. You only have to look at early fights to see that Floyd wasn't depleting himself and there was not ballooning in weight over night.
When he was fighting low-mid 150s would be about right. However fighters as they get older and fight less regularly tend to get bigger and have a harder time controlling their weight. Floyd has only had 2 fights in the past 4 years. My guess is he was probably over 160 for the Marquez and Mosley bouts. He looked bigger than Mosley, and Marquez said he felt Floyd outweighed him by 15lbs in the fight, I;ll take his word over assumptions from his fans. Why did Floyd refuse the day of the fight weigh-in for both fights?
i say around 165.....the boy looked huge vs jmmm and was as big as shane at fight night , you could'nt notice a size diffrenece...

Where is this junk food thing coming from? I'm not saying it isn't true, but I'd like to see the source for that tidbit.
will try to find it for you later.....at work...don't want to be cruising around on net too much.........but he is notorious for bad eating habits.........it's made mention of in quite a few articles.....
one writer even wrote about how he saw Floyd at the drive-in of a fast food joint in Vegas to get a burger at 2am.......
no one is disputing that.........what i am disputing is this notion that Floyd is a "BIG" welterweight............
Yeah true.
He box and outwit Mosley his last fight but not overpowers his opponent.
The thing is Money May to other flomos think that he is small coz he cant KO
a big WW LOL but can a small WW.
While Pacman is a small dude who keeps on whacking bigger guys, just like
Brian Kenny said on ESPN.
So PBF thinks Pacman is on PED. I dont really think he is on drugs or
something.
If this fight went through and pacman wins it will be a disaster for PBF to
accept it. This fight will be a big challenge for both either guys.
A BIG defensive master boxer and an ellusive counter puncher VS a SMALL
relentless non-stoping offensive onslaught. Hehehe.
Well I agree that he was close around 158 for the Marquez fight but I disagree with you on the Mosley weight. Mosley is a pretty decent size WW, and rehydrates up to 160 if not higher. While Shane look a little smaller than usual (I think he did it on purpose for speed) Floyd was clearly the bigger man.B] Against Shane I felt he was close to 160 (not over though) and Shane was in the mid 150's.
The thing about Floyd is he is always in phenomenal shape even when he isn't fighting, which is why he never goes above 165. At the same time I also think he doesn't believe in cutting a lot of weight and IMO has always fought close to his walking around weight (except maybe for he days at 130 and 135 where did cut a good amount of weight).
respectfully i disagree.......he was much bigger in the JMM fight........and i don't think Floyd was bigger.....watch the weigh in...Shane is bigger when they were both basically on the limit......i think after Shane got tired Floyd was stronger.........i think fighters underestimate his physical strength because of how he fights.........
Heres how..
Money May cant fight at 144 with JMM.
Pacman can fight at 140 easily.
Bigger man is PBF than pacman.
end of story.
no one is disputing that.........what i am disputing is this notion that Floyd is a "BIG" welterweight............
So floyd weighed in at 146, and came into the ring at what??? You have to remember, JMM is naturally smaller than Floyd son which is why he looked a lot bigger. What do you think Floyd's weight was fight time against Shane?
STFU moron..........stop trolling in my thread.......
its fukn WWE. i'm sure those weight are real official. that being said floyd could make 140 if he cut like other fighters. he could do same day weigh ins and still fight welter.
Yep, he just wanted to give $900k to JMM because he felt bad for him. :smashfrea

What bewilders me is why peple would go thru so much trouble and put in soo much effort to defend a man that doesn't know them and prolly doesn't give a shit about them.
I only have two things to add:
1. Floyds arms look really skinny in that WWE video.
2. Floyd weighed 159lbs with clothes on... you can easilly take 3-5lbs off that weight. So essentially he was walking around at about 155lbs.
i would say about 160-162.........
I agree, Marquez even said that Floyd was 20 lbs heavier than him during their fight. So 144 + 20 = 164 lbs was Floyd's fight night weight.
