Kessler all day for me even now , golovkin is getting crazy hype but he has beat no one of note , fair enough looked good doing it but hes a small middle moving up to fight a big smw who will be the best person he would of faced.
Kessler has got a great jab aswel which I feel will befuddle golovkin
Everybody has had a belt in boxing nowadays..
there is 4 sanctioning bodies plus ring title,
4 Superchamps
4 regular champs
dozens of interm champs...
back in the 70s and 80s guys like:
ghost
ortiz
berto
canelo
hatton
gatti
None would be champs
Donald curry or SRL or hearns vs ghost, ortiz,
Canelo vs mccllelan or hearns
gatti vs arguello, pryor, hell even mancini
Not trying to take away from floyd,, but being a "champ" today is greatly overrrated, in all honestly, it doesnt mean crap...
what are u smoking??? hatton was the only champ worth taking note of at 140 2005-2009
Who gives a fuk what Lacy was considered. Did he turn out to become anything? No, he was a fuking bum. Calzaghe has a win over BHOP and Kessler, you're right but then what. Keep coming with the undefeated argument but he's undefeated because he really didn't fight anyone. Froch has losses but that's because his resume is loaded with great fighters on it and is about to get enhanced with Bute very soon. If you like Calzaghe because he's undefeated, that's fine but don't even try to come in here and say he fought better opposition or has a better resume.
Lacy was # 1 or 2 smw at the time
Kessler # 2 at the time unified champion
Hopkins # 1 at 175
These 3 elite names on calzaghes resume would of beat froch I'd even pick 2004 lacy
Brewer
Reid
Bika
Eubank
Veit
Sheika
Are all better then frochs pre super 6 resume
How exactly is Calzaghes resume better than Frochs?
Kessler is better then any win on frochs record
Also lacy in 04-05 was the next big thing in boxing and walked into the ring a 3-1 favourite he was only considered sh*t after he got shutout
alot of british fighters like hatton and calzaghe built their profile with fights on ITV (a free ITV channel) and when they became a big enough draw they cashed in with PPV fights towards the end of their careers.
froch thought too highly of himself too early in his career, if he had followed the blueprint laid out by calzaghe and hatton he would have been making more in his early/mid thirties than he is now.
fighters like froch and audley thought they could get a better deal and overestimated their own status. They clearly though of fighting on ITV as below them and paid a hefty price.
Hatton had every fight barring 1 on sky and the other was on setanta!
Froch would of got beat a few times going through joes resume but joe would go through frochs with he's 0 and shut out the cobra.
People tripe on about calzaghe been overated and then underate him in the process
You yourself just admitted it depends where you get hit so why are you mentioning second round KO?
All I'm saying is that a guy has faced both fighters, and he says Lucas hits harder. I'll take his word over yours.
Hatton still says tszyu is the hardest puncher he ever faced
What's he crying about? Both fighters have a living to earn so sparring is a great way to earn a few quid between fights plus both gain some world class experience it's a win win froch is getting the excuses in early just incase
i think it all stems from the fact britain expected more from him so far. also when he has talked about doing more he has been knocked out and continues talking so maybe it is an arrogance thing with him.
personally i dont like him because i dont think hes all that and hand speed away he is very ordinary. watch his fights tho because as the article says they are usually box office material
An elite mam fighter will beat an elite boxer in the octagon every time
A contender will beat an elite mma fighter in boxing every time it proves nothing
Hatton was always going to be witters biggest payday and he's bitter because the only time it made sense to make it happen was when frank warren had them both and passed on it.
By the time witter brought something to the table , a paper title , hatton was making 20x wat witter was fighting the urangos and castillos of the world!
its a factor of tszyu weight ballooning and mayweather
the tszyu fight was one of them nights where hatton would of walked through hell fire and brimstone to win the world title
is he not?
in the consencus of wbc, wba, ibf, wbo no he is not
yes he beat barrera and hatton but they was not current world champions at there weight classes but they did have the ring title.
is thomas hearns a 6 weight champion because he won the ibo title at cruiser??
minus - uncle sam's regular dibs

= NOT GETTING 25-30 MILLION.
but that = floyd earning 25-30 million gross you retard
I have seen a thread saying that Khan is over-rated but I truely believe that he is grossly under-rated here are my reasons why:
2 He rejected the offer to work with Ricky Hatton no he never hatton never reached out to him same as david haye
6. He has faced much tougher opposition at a younger age than even the greats like Hatton, Beating a Barrera, Gomez, Kotelnik, Salita. Hatton for example was fighting journeymen at the age of 22 and did not have a world title. gomez and barrera where both shot and above there natural weight divisions , also gomez had khan down. salita wtf has he ever done??
7. Its difficult for him to get fights, Marquez is too scared to fight Khan, Maidana thinks its safer to fight Timothy Bradley. Ortiz would rather fight a fading Nate Campbell. Malignaggi agreed to the fight for a pay-day, He gets $250,000 just for turning up win or loose. khan ducked madaina and left warren when he had a bradley fight lined up
8.His popularity in Britian is the cause of much envy, grievance, dislike, Xenophobia and racism. He is Pakistani-British and Britian does not treat its minorities with respect like minorities in the USA ie Barak Obama. Khan even said himself "If I were white I would be a super-star in the UK". To deny that Khan faces racism in the UK is to be either niave or duplicitous. bullshit wat race is naz??? wat colour is bruno??? they was both massive superstars here
9.He has defeated all his opponents bar Bredis Prescott in a lopsided fashion, There is no fight of his that you can really say Khan struggled. Fact no British boxer has been able to defeat Khan or come close. drillzane limond gomez have all had khan on the canvas . drillzane was at 140 where u say hes never been down and limond has got a crazyily low ko ratio
10.The critics say he has a "Glass jaw" because he was suffered a fluke KO by an opponent who at the time had a 90% KO ratio. Since moving up in weight he has not struggled with taking hard shots, He hasnt been on the canvas since moving up in weight. Also he took more than one flush shot by Prescott and got up the first time and tried the second time, Even if the critics continue repeating this mantra of "glass jaw" they can not question his heart.
For these reasons I believe that AK is grossly under-rated. I would like you to share your opinions but please keep it respectful and refrain from bad language.
Best Regards.
iv just fixed it for you
i agree with wat u say but i believe last night he was fighting on emotions and not to a game plan. i think hes still a good fighter but hes also a product of the hbo hype train at the same time
thats good that they paid out on it i would of thought theyd of paid out on reduced odds like they do when you do a football coupon and theres a game called off
i always thought lineage was regarded as important because of the way ppl can manipulate the sanctioning bodies?? michalchewski was the lineal and true 175 champion regardless of wat title he held or hes nationality. hopkins had no titles but american audiences and fight fans sighted him as the lineal and true champion why is this
Nope. He never got the IBF belt that Cunningham had.
but that ibf belt was a paper title after mormeck got stripped or was it bell but anyway by definition of to be the man you gotta beat the man haye was undistputed at cruiser plus he added a third title to hes claim been the man is not a birth right
i also believe in this day and age having all four belts is impossible (its no fluke that only 1 person as managed this in history) so beating the concesus top ranked fighters is far more credible to your claim as undistputed champ rather then beating a low top ten rank fighter who just happens to be a titlist
cunningham was champion for 6 months at the time haye beat mormeck but had never defended hes belt. mormeck was the wbc/wba champion wernt he and traded 2 fights with then ibf champ oniel bell mormeck walked away with the 3 titles and haye beat him for 2 (shud of been 3) and added the wbo in hes first defence
