hate all you want, but I never seen power at that weight class. What's more impressive is that he applies his power EXTREMELY well and he's a very intelligent fighter. He got KO power in BOTH hands and is also a devastating body puncher. He is also one of the best at cutting the ring off in boxing right next to GGG.
Lucas has a better chance @ beating Mayweather than Canelo or Pacquiao, without a doubt.
Oscars run at 135/140 is great. Had nothing to do with making the weight he fought the weights
he fought very little at 140. 130, too.
he fought plenty at 35 and 47, doe. he was big and strong at both weights. at 135 he had a lethal left hook.
Considering Matthysee and Delahoya are arguably the same size weight cutting, Oscar was far more devastating. Lets see Lucas go to 147 and drop the top dogs like Oscar did
oscar is bigger than matthysse. he's got 73 inches of reach, big shoulders, and he's almost four inches taller. he moved quickly as a pro and was able to capture titles at 130 and 135 when he was young and able to make the weights. most of his biggest fights were at 147 or 154. hell, he fought bernard hopkins, even if he did give up some size.
and yes, he did punch harder. matthysse is still a beast, though.
Ever is an argument I haven't done the proper research for. That said Lucas has more power than anybody at 140 or 147.
really? He fights at 140 not at 147. A lot of times fighters who knock people out in one weight class are not able to do that anymore when they move up one weight class. So there is no way anybody can assess Matthysse's power at welterweight. Actually there was one fight in which he fought at 145 and guess what: the fight went the distance.
His power is devastating, but fact is he didn't KO Zab or Devon
At 140 he is the most hard hitting boxer, I don't think he wud fair well at 147 though, power wud not be enough.
Lemont has been KD by Khan, so we already knew he would not take a punch from Lucas
Zab Judah was his first step-up fight and he gave him way too much respect, even still he floored Judah and should have earned a decision.
To Alexander's credit he's got a hell of a chin and coincidentally has only hit the canvas against Lucas.
Those two fights have also made Mattysse the machine he is today as he's making judges irrelevant in his bouts.
:hitit:uWhat!?
I guess you missed out on Tszyu and Delahoya, Pryor, Pacquiao, etc.
At 140 he is a bigger puncher than Pac. Not sure how he fares vs Oscar's left hook since Oscar was pretty big but he seems to be up there with Tszyu and Pryor and against top opponents. He belongs and only time will tell if he's a bigger puncher or not.
I wonder if lucas could dent rios' chin rios is a straight up neandrathal, if lucas could KO rios I will fully agree with you lol
Lucas knock down Rios in sparring I have understood

hardest puncher at 140 you have ever seen? What about Kostya Tszyu? He hits harder that Matthysse.
Julio Cesar Chavez and Aaron Pryor probably also hit harder than Matthysse.
Don't forget that being hit harder by someone doesn't mean they hit harder. If the guy with more punching power doesn't land something as big as the other puncher, you can't really say that he hits harder.
Notice how they usually say "he hit me harder than..." etc.

You yourself just admitted it depends where you get hit so why are you mentioning second round KO?
All I'm saying is that a guy has faced both fighters, and he says Lucas hits harder. I'll take his word over yours.
Hatton still says tszyu is the hardest puncher he ever faced
Lamont Peterson is glass in the first 3 rounds.
Bradley looked like a puncher vs Peterson, so, although Matthysse is a big puncher, Peterson might be making things look a little exaggerated.
Floyd hits harder than Lucas back when Floyd was at light weight. You guys forgot how hard my Prince hit back during his prime. Pretty Boy been shot for years now and still dominating and it aint gonna stop any time soon. I love it how you nut hugging crazies all up on Lucas *** because y'all think y'all found the Floyd Killa.
COME AGAIN: So many floyd killas
Martinez-Pacquaio-Margarito-Tzyu-Williams-Canelo
yet all of these fighters combined have a total of ZERO wins against Floyd.
Floyd also has a total of ZERO wins against all you mentioned because Floyd only fights people he's certain of beating.
So what? Fighters say all sorts of crap. SSM said Floyd hits harder than Canelo. Yiou believe that too? It depends where and how they get hit. Kosya Tszyu knocked Judah out in the second with one punch. He didn't even have a chance to feel Kostya's power

Sure he is. Let's examine that statement. Who is faster? Kostya. Who is the better and smarter boxer? Kostya. Who hits harder? Kostya.
Be real son.

Lucas Mattysse is hands down the hardest puncher @ 140lb I've ever seen | BoxingScene Community
