"Come on over," UFC President Dana White said today. "We'll make a deal."
Prior to his 21st pro win this past Saturday, the undefeated boxer called MMA "rubbish" and told ESPN he had called out UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez three times to no avail.
White is willing to accept the challenge on his fighter's behalf.
"You want to fight Cain? Come on over here," White said today during a fan Q&A. "You will get smashed."
Get ready for another UFC vs Boxing! Another fight to settle the debate once and for all. First he challenged the blob, now he's challenging bum ass Fury to fight their Heavyweight champion. What a joke...:lol1:
Also, biting rarely factors in during a street fight. The best hand to hand combat specialists do not bite. That is hilarious. For a variety of reasons. Krav Maga, and the hand to hand combat the CIA employs etc. is the most effective form of fighting. It involves taking someone out with minimal effort and strikes, uses chokes and kill moves. A muay thai guy would beat the piss out of a boxer in a striking match. More tools. If you could learn how to punch, kick, knee and elbow or just punch what would you learn? Then you throw in grappling, wrestling, and how to fight on the ground, and the choice of MMA being superior on the streets to boxing is obvious. It is more tools in the tool shed. That being said I am a bigger boxing fan than MMA due to the UFC's current rule system and the bias it shows towards stalling and wrestlers. I preferred PRIDE.
The person in my avatar, Giorgio Petrosyan, would absolutely destroy any boxer from 155 lbs. on down. Easily. In a striking contest.
whats gonna happen when you cant land a takedown and getting hit repeaditly in the back of the head? when you clinch up and someone rips a piece of flesh out with there teeth or bites your ****ing ear? like 80% maybe even 90% of people dont know how to fight on the streets and never been trained. a top boxer trained like a mirko cro cop in defensive grappling would be a force to be reckoned with. mirko trained for 6 months and was able to stuff world class wrestlers and grapplers.

From what I gather Mirko was self trained for most part. He not only taught himself how to sprawl and that but taught himself how to box and kickbox.
He hung a heavybag in a field from a tree and would study film & go there to rehearse moves.
Are you referring to when he was a kid? Because Cro Cop was a trained soldier, that worked out in a gym with the best kickboxing coach in Croatia throughout his K-1 and kickboxing career, before making the leap to MMA. Then he brought in BJJ guys like Fabricio Werdum and Eastern-European wrestlers to round out his game.
you mma fanboys are dumb.
clinching elbows knees and chokes are not "MMA" tactics. mma is just a rule set for people to fight under. the top mma "title" is held by an entertainment company. it has no ranking system and "world title challengers" are selected via who is more popular.
MMA fanboys? This is the only forum I am on.
Clinching, elbows, knees and chokes are legal in MMA. MMA fighters now train in every discipline. This is not 1994 when guys had one discipline and fought others. Everyone trains muay thai, boxing, kickboxing, bjj, wrestling, judo etc. They took the best out of each discipline and use it for MMA. For instance the shoulder roll would not work well in MMA due to the small gloves. The footwork is completely different, you have to be ready to defend takedowns etc.
The UFC does have an official ranking system. Perhaps you should check your facts, and top guys match up more in the UFC than they do in boxing due to one organization controlling the sport. So whatever you were trying to say with that point was absolutely moronic.
Obviously street fighting, with eye gouging and low blows, biting, shots to the throat etc. is different than MMA. But if you think boxing and MMA are equal in terms of value in the street, then you are clueless. In MMA you can kick a guys knee out which is one of the most dangerous and popular moves to seasoned street fighters. You cannot do that in boxing. You technically are not even allowed to push a guy in boxing and you wear minimum 8 oz. gloves. If you think boxing does not select matches based on popularity, and that it is defined by a ranking system, then I have a bridge to sell you. That is just lunacy.
By the way, Cro Cop trained for over a year before he really started making noise in MMA. If you recall Wanderlei Silva, by no means a wrestler, took him down repeatedly in their first match. Also, Cro Cop was a kickboxer, so he had a longer distance from the wrestler than a boxer would, not to mention lightning fast head kicks. Two completely different things. You are welcome for the education.

Mercer KO Silva 9 seconds.
It was Sylvia. I cannot stand ignorance.
Anyway, MMA is a lot more like a real fight. That is obvious. To the "bouncer" that claims he never saw MMA tactics used in a street fight, I guess he never saw clinching, wrestling, chokes, kicks, knees or elbows. Whatever "very violent place" this was Jean Claude it clearly was different than the majority of the world.
The bottom line is this. Both sports are completely different. I love boxing, I love MMA, I love muay thai, kickboxing, brasilian jiu-jitsu etc. I appreciate ALL combat sports. Dana White is a boxing fan. Tyson Fury was the one running his mouth for no reason about Cain Velasquez just to get some attention. It is quite obvious Cain Velasquez would completely annihilate Tyson Fury. In the street or in the cage. Fury called him out. MMA fans that hate on boxing look like idiots, and boxing fans that hate on MMA look like idiots. Both are combat sports and a lot more exciting than golf or tennis so just appreciate it for what it is. Both require amazing heart, athleticism and technique.
Anyone who thinks Fury would last more than a round is a fool. Valesquez to his credit handles fury's bluster with a great rejoinder.
Boxing and UFC are sports...and we have a pretty good idea of what happens when a boxer tries to go into MMA thinking they are a badass. There was a time when good grappling skills were part of boxing, but not now a days!
Mercer KO Silva 9 seconds.
Good I sometime wonder do you hate mma more than you love boxing?
Because mma is fighting and boxing is boxing. If you want't to be the best fighter in the world you have be the UFC champion.
If you want to be the best boxer in the world you fight in boxing.
What are you even talking about. That dumbass is saying boxers need to go into mma to prove something. The fuck they do. They can prove all they need to in boxing and boxing alone.
You aren't a pussy for sticking to your sport. The only reason those other disciplines go into MMA, is because it is more relevant then there sport. You can't say that about boxing.
Good I sometime wonder do you hate mma more than you love boxing?

Thats simply not true. Your first statement is true: Someone who prefers boxing as a style could well be an MMA champion. But they would have to be an MMA trained fighter with that preference and not a boxer per se.
MMA has certain features that make it more similar to a fight but it is not fighting my friend. First off the way you punch and use your hands is very differnt without gloves, when you fight in combat your problem is hidden weapons, multiple opponents, glass on the ground, etc... you cannot even focus on one opponent usually.
I bounced as a martial artist for years in a pretty violent place. every tom dick and harry was a supposed badass martial artist....IN ALL my time at this place, and other similar places, in all the fights I saw, broke up, etc....Never once did I see a martial arts technique applied. Saw a lot of what we would consider today to be "MMA." haha.
MMA is a sport. And thats not to be critical... Judo and Aikido have the most injuries of any martial arts....One is a sport the other a "Budo" art that is gentle and compassionate.
Boxing is the most established and popular sport out of all those listed. Why the **** would a boxer HAVE to go into the octagon to prove anything. You have to see how ridiculous that sounds.
Good I sometime wonder do you hate mma more than you love boxing?

So what happens next if hypothetically Fury were to win?
UFC will have a new champion and he will come from boxing just as Cain comes from wrestling.
lol:smashfrea
dana white always wants boxers to fight MMA but they never would fight a boxer in its own sport
That statement it's valuable to wrestlers also and you don't see them *****ing about it.The best fighters fight in the UFC.The can't fight in boxing because it is to limited and they can't use all of their skills.A boxer can use all of his skills in the UFC but an mma fighter can't in boxing.
Cain is a humble and respectful guy. He would never have called out a boxer, he's just responding to it.
That's why the "mma guys can't go to boxing".
So what happens next if hypothetically Fury were to win?
It wouldn't be that big of a deal. We are talking about an organization that had a UFC HW Chimp with 3...yes...3...fights(and 1 was a loss) become HW Chimp in Lesnar and almost ALL other UFC HW Champs with steroid suspensions.
We are talking about a sport where the best p4p Champ,Anderson Silva, is a former bad boxer who couldn't handle boxing, was KTFO'd in his second fight, and makes less than $ 300 k per fight or 1/2 of what Freddie Roach makes for training Manny.:boxing::boxing::boxing:
So somebody who trains martial arts INCLUDING BOXING 5 to 6 days a week and probably twice a day has "little/no boxing skills at all" ?????
The sheer fucking idiocy on these boards STILL never ceases to amaze me!
Why can't people think before they spew their bullshit through their keyboard??
The sheer idiocy of your post suggests that you know little of boxing.
"You don't play boxing."
Training 2-3 times per week for 1-2 hours per day gives you.......LITTLE/NO BOXING SKILLS !!!!!
If a MMA Guy was that good at boxing...then he would be BOXING !!!!!! MMA guys make peanuts and even champions make less than what most trainers make for decent boxers.:boxing::boxing::boxing:
Because kickboxers, Ju Jitsu specialists, Wrestlers, Judo Champions, Karate Champions, Sambo champions, and Mu Thai Champions have all gone to the UFC and have earned their stripes. Boxing fans seem to think that boxing is the only combat sport that gets an exception and doesn't have to prove it self in the Octagon. It's a cowards argument because you will never hear a Ju Jitsu practitioner say to a wrestler "Oh yeah well i bet you can't beat me in a ju Jitsu match" LOL your argument is just a cowards way out.
Boxing is the most established and popular sport out of all those listed. Why the **** would a boxer HAVE to go into the octagon to prove anything. You have to see how ridiculous that sounds.
It will do no damage to the UFC credibility because the UFC's model.Let clarify that for you.In order to fight a title fight in the UFC and win that title you will not be able to fight anywhere else as long as you are champion in UFC.
UFC will have a new champion and he will come from boxing just as Cain comes from wrestling.
So what happens next if hypothetically Fury were to win?
The sport is over 20 years old now you could at leasts say it's in its young adulthood stage instead of infancy. And the guy who uses Shotokan movement is Lyoto Machida and not Rua.
Sorry....names always get me
