After watching the Mosley fight and all three of the Marquez fights again there is a clear blueprint for success against Pacquiao.
1) Don't walk towards him, let him come to you. Guys who tried to walk him down got put to sleep or had their eye socket broken, but guys who waited for him were able to nullify most of his offense.
2) Get off first. When he gets hit first is when his offense is least effective. If Marquez would have been more consistent with this step it would have been a shut out.
3) When Pacquiao tries to trade punches circle to your right and watch his left. This is how Mosley and Marquez were able to avoid getting iced.

Valcarcel has heard the cry from the millions of Manny Pacquiao fans and those who devoutly follow the fistic fortunes of Boricua Bomber Miguel Angel Cotto.
As I reported, Cotto has thought he could hold the WBO welterweight title hostage and use it as a blackjack on the head of the Pacquiao-Cotto Nov. 14 promoter Bob Arum.
I caught up with Valcarcel as he was going through airport security somewhere and we had a brief conversation Friday afternoon.
Whatever happens in Cotto’s money play with Top Rank’s top dog, Valcarcel said that Pacquiao fans, Cotto fans and fight fans in general can relax.
“I know that Manny is looking to make boxing history. I can appreciate that as he goes after the very tough Cotto for a seventh weight division world title,” Valcarcel said.
“You can tell all the people right now, the WBO title will be on the line. You’ve got a highly respected champion fighting the Number One contender. It would be ridiculous for this not to be for the title.
“No matter what happens, I assure you that this will be a WBO welterweight title fight. End of story

first of all the obvious fact that cotto is a naturally bigger guy and i dont mean like oscar or hatton were im talking a nat bigger guy who is one of the top p4p guys in the sport....basically heres what i belive it comes down 2....look at the fights where manny has struggles and c if u notice...he was getting hit w a lot of body shots in those fights....ie....morales and both marquez fights....we all know there is nobody better in the sport at going to the body than Cotto....mannys speed will def b a factor and mess with cotto for a bit at first but when he feels the power of a real welterweight i think its gonna change his game plan instantly and thats when Cotto has him
