He chose to fight a man who has, in many people's opinion, beaten the best fighter in the world, Manny Pacquiao. He chose to fight a man who is smaller and slower. He will then most likely beat Marquez convincingly and hold all the cards in negotiations because he will say that he did what Pacquiao couldn't do. Is that genius or what? Clever boy Floyd. I'm willing to bet Mayweather says exactly the same thing if he beats Marquez more convincingly than Pacquiao did. In fact, im willing to bet its one of the main reasons he wanted the Marquez fight. Unfortunetly for him, the smaller Pacquiao will get more respect for fighting people Mayweather seems to avoid.

Hatton win is legit IMO, DLH not so much cause he didn't seem too comfortable at the weight. Basically, Floyd beat the better version of DLH, Pacquiao beat the better version of Hatton... even if people think Hatton wasn't the same after Floyd, he was still really confident and at a weight which he dominated for years and was undefeated at. If Floyd beats JMM more convincingly than Pacquiao, I think obviously Pacquiao beat the better version to it... so due to the fact Pacquiao beat both DLH and Hatton so convincingly... it kinda evens it out IMO. all that doesn't matter anyway IF, and it's a big IF, Manny Pacquiao were to beat Miguel Cotto. He would have the upper hand in the negotiations.
