Joshua is far from perfect and is still a work in progress but you have to respect what he has done in 21 fights.
Name me some heavyweights 21 fights in with better reaumes?
Aj definitely won that fight thought but that ref was terrible. If only David Fields can ref all the big heavyweight fights, he was ref for AJ v Wlad and Wilder v ortiz and let them fight.
They cancelled the day before, Kellerman even stated on the show that Joshua was going to be on tomorrow!
If Kellerman mentioned that then it’s not a good look for ESPN and looks amateurish and unprofessional. I don’t see what’s wrong with giving fighters on other networks shine as its for the good of the sport.
Crawford and lomachenko are both fighting in April who is he going to counter AJ June 1st card with lol? And I doubt he puts Fury same day as AJ. Whether it’s the U.K. or America AJ will always be a bigger draw than fury.
It will be interesting to see the package DAZN are willing to offer wilder especially if it includes the Joshua fight.
Thing is can DAZN offer him a big enough guarantee for the AJ fights, it’s obvious he will get paid more than anywhere else for the Breazeale fight. Most big fights in history like Tyson-Lewis and Mayweather-Pacquaio have been PPV and with big fights it’s hard to predict the numbers it will do on PPV and also the upside. Unless DAZN guarantee of money to wilder will be based on subscription they think they can get for that fight.
AJ v Wilder on a steaming service for 10$ would be a game changer.
Miller was picked because he also is Eddie's fighter and is from NY yes, but tell me when he's been a big ticket seller. Guy has no backing whatsoever. Sure he talks a big game and can cause havoc at pressers, but I bet more people know Ortiz than Miller. But that's irrelevant since the ticket sales for ANY Joshua fight are going to be great regardless....Because well, Joshua is the biggest star in boxing, or at worst second behind Canelo. Joshua is moving the tickets, NOT Miller or Ortiz or Ruiz etc.
Miller definitely isn’t a ticket seller lol in New York. Even when him and Danny Jacobs who are Brooklyn natives had a show at the Barclays centre last year they was less than 8k people in attendance and that arena holds 17k.
Ortiz is a bigger draw than miller plus New York/New Jersey has a sizeable Cuban community while other Hispanics from places like DR/PR would come out also.

Surely Ortiz team let him take this fight. Biggest pay day ever by a mile with 3 world titles on the line plus I feel like this may be his only opportunity to ever get the AJ fight.
Brits defo will for AJ.I think Vegas should host it though instead of MSG. All the west coast Mexicans will come out for Ruiz and Brits love a trip to Vegas. The atmosphere would be great.
People are acting like Joshua walked into a lucky punch. Joshua got the **** beat out of him for seven rounds and quit.
Yup. He will have to make major changes to win this rematch.
From the ifltv interview I just saw from Hearn if Whyte beats Rivas he will be in for a shot with wilder before Fury and he will be ready to go down the legal route if not.
If Joshua wins the rematch I will respect it. People keep comparing this to Lewis losses but he didn’t take a sustained beating like what AJ took.
Aj will have to change his strategy dramatically to win the rematch.
I feel like the pressure just got the better of him. I have been to many AJ fights here in the U.K. and his whole demeanour from before the fight and during the fight wasn’t normal.
Anyway this loss may be the best thing for his career for the long term as he will have to go back to the basics.
Was it me or did it look like Joshua’s dad and Hearn where arguing after the fight?
There was so many strange things going on yesterday.
Anyway congrats to Ruiz and I look forward to the rematch.
Yeah he looked odd, considering the size of the crowds he has boxed in front of I can't imagine it would be nerves or pressure getting to him, heard other people say he looked like a guy who had been beat up sparring. Who knows, but he looked pretty bad all round.
I heard that Joey Dawejko guy from Philly he used for sparring was giving him a lot of problems but his even shorter than Ruiz.
They had Joey in the camp
Joey kind of reminds me of an early Ruiz
Just never took off though
Perfect guy to impersonate Ruiz though
Yeh they had Joey. I didn't know to much about him but from his build he looked like a good choice I’m preparing for Ruiz
Supposedly he was knocked out during sparring and got a concussion.... I don’t know how close to fight week.
Because of this his Dad wanted the fight cancelled or postponed but Hearn wouldn’t allow it due to the publicity and potential financial losses. That’s possibly why his Dad was having a real go at Hearn after the fight.
This would also explain why AJ seemed lost in the corner from the first round and asking what to do and why he was feeling like that etc. He also looked kinda banged up with bruises and swollen eyes.
If it’s true then it’s definitely a bad look for Hearn.
There’s no official reports of this yet but something definitely seemed off from the start and this would go some way towards explaining it.
This isn’t making excuses by the way, it really would be a sign of how they terribly underestimated Ruiz though.
That won’t surprise me, I heard from a good source that Joey Dawejko guy from Philly he used for sparring was giving him major problems.
I think AJ is doing way to much weight training..... if you follow his instagram and Snapchat it just strikes that he is doing to much..... This is boxing not weightlifting.... He has to hone his boxing skills more and work on his cardio.....with me being of Nigerian origin like him I don't think some of the nigerian food I see him eating regularly like pounded yam is good for him aswell, one of the reasons his been getting a gut.
I think it's down to his trainer and team to let him know as coming in at a career heaviest in the last 2 fights can't be beneficial to him. His got flaws that need to be addressed.
This poll was just stupid.... I laughed when I saw it..... to even think of comparing Joshua at this stage of his career to Lennox Lewis was madness..... this is what makes people so anti sky/hearn.
Of course, Anthony Joshua potential fights ranked in terms of money:
1. Tyson Fury
2. David Haye (If he knocks out Bellew)
3. Dillian Whyte rematch
4. Deontay Wilder
5. Joseph Parker
6. Everyone else
lol there's no way a Whyte fight generates more than a Wilder fight. if anything after how Whyte looked against Helenius I have seen many people change opinions on him.
Only way a Whyte rematch would be credible is if he was to beat Wilder first but I think Wilder KO's him.
Gonna be interesting to see what does happen when AJ goes hbo and from what I know out here in London from people who know him that's very likely.. hopefully not a MAY-PAC situation but all I know is he will probably be fighting Big Baby miller end of August at probably MSG on HBO.
I thought they ordered Breazeale vs Pulev ?
Breazeale declined ? Is he facing wilder ?
Probably wants to go down the Wilder route anyway. Nobody would want to see him fight AJ again anyway.
