ANTHONY JOSHUA is brilliant for boxing but needs a decade of dominance before he can be called Britain's best-ever heavyweight. The London 2012 Olympic gold medallist has a long way to go to catch up the likes of Lennox Lewis. Joshua has become a big star, he is a big ticket seller, and he is great for boxing. So according to Frank, Tim Witherspoon, Bonecrusher Smith and Frank Bruno would have beaten the Klitscko that lost to AJ? Those guys wouldnt last 6 rounds with Klitscko, IDC how old he was.
He also called Anthony Yard the new Nigel Benn when they have nothing in common apart from being both black and british.
Frank Warren you DKSAB
Dude, Klitchko wasn't that good and his era was terrible --- the worst ever era of HW's. He feasted on guys smaller than him forever. I always said when he fights a guy his own size and close in skill, he wouldn't be as dominant.
Witherspoon was 6'4" fought like a middleweight. He would terrorize the current HW division and would be a bad night for old Vlad.
Bonecrusher was 6'4" as well. Bonecrusher from 86' probably knocks Vlad out.
Most people remember Bruno from only getting sniped by Tyson. Back then nobody in the states got to see Bruno's fights because there was no internet or national Boxing progams on the tele. I used to read newspapers and magazines for results.
Bruno was 6'3" and fought like a MW. Punches in bunches and would destroy Vlad in under 6 rounds.
Don't look at their records, look at highlight reels. The stock of HW's was so much better then that the lower tier cats would dominate today.
Warren is no idiot. He knows talent and he's absolutely right in that piece.
And I like Joshua but come now, you’d have to be drunk to say top 50.. he should hold it down for a while so maybe that change in time but let time tell
Don't like it but have to agree with Mr Warren here.
Can we all stop talking about Joshua's win like it was against a peak wladimir.
It was a fantastic action fight a good solid win for a man still learning on the job but let's not take it out of context.
He fought a 41 year old coming off an 18 month lay that had been gradually declining since the loss of steward. This culminated in him 'growing old' over night against fury and being unable to pull the trigger.
The men Warren mentioned would have beaten wladimir at that point in his career, a point where he was struggling with jennings, losing to fury and being stopped by joshua.
To put it in to context, Larry holmes was 39 coming off an 18 month layoff and a loss when he was destroyed by tyson, yet tyson gets no credit. Why should AJ for beating a man in a life and death struggle who was in the same boat?
This is from a klitschko brother fan and seeing the people who once derided wladimir try to now build him up to try and add weight to joshua is pathetic.
This poll was just stupid.... I laughed when I saw it..... to even think of comparing Joshua at this stage of his career to Lennox Lewis was madness..... this is what makes people so anti sky/hearn.

i was saying the same thing, Wlad would destroy Bruno and every one on his resume

keyboard warrior...you're the moron as you watched him downplay klitschko..Joshua's current best opponent..and you defend him..we're here to leave opinions and not act like idiots hurling around baby insults like you just did..In that case tho i apologize for not getting the full information before being judgmental.. and you should take back the insult too..peace!

Warren was asked about Joshua and this is in response to a poll that Sky Sports done that said AJ is the greatest ever U.K heavyweight, which they quickly took down due to ridicule.
Outed yourself as someone that responds and believe headlines without getting the context......MORON! keyboard warrior...you're the moron as you watched him downplay klitschko..Joshua's current best opponent..and you defend him..we're here to leave opinions and not act like idiots hurling around baby insults like you just did..In that case tho i apologize for not getting the full information before being judgmental.. and you should take back the insult too..peace!
When Joshua retires, he will have Klitschko, Wilder, Parker and probably Tyson Fury on his resume. he wil be HOF.
Joshua is young, I can see some of the up and coming guys giving him more trouble than the guys you listed. Parker isn't anything special, who knows what kind of shape Fury will be in when/if he returns and Wilder could still be exposed as a hype job.
I think Hrgović could be a good fight down the line, he could potentially be Joshua's main rival. He is a big strong heavyweight and has the style that could give Joshua problems.
You're essentially agreeing with warren in that it's a stupid comparison to try and make at this stage of his career.
The retardation lies in the question of wether a fledgling Joshua is the best uk heavy ever and not in warrens response.
yeah that was a dumb question
.but saying guys who beat frank Bruno will do the same to the Klitschko that fought joshua..gimme a break...klitschko jabs and grabs them till they fall over except Tyson
what a senile old man..we all know Joshua is far from a finished article..so what's with the comparison when he's still entering his peak years.. compare when he's done with boxing.. but right now makes you look foolish should he exceed his predecessors later on in achievements especially in u.k history

yeah that was a dumb question..shoulda been does he have the potential to go on to be the best hw ever??
.but saying guys who beat frank Bruno will do the same to Klitschko..gimme a break...klitschko jabs and grabs them till they fall over with the only uncertainty being tyson

It's still too early!! Let's wait two or three more years before this comes up. He beat a 40 year old Klitschko ( coming off a long layoff and a loss), Dillian Whyte, Charles Martin and Dominic Brezeale that doesn't make you the best UK heavy weight EVER!! He's only 19 fights in give it time.
