roy jones. berto and lopez imo should go on bum runs and see if there's any possibility of improving (for berto it'll be more about staying healthy and regaining some confidence). i have absolutely no idea who trains lopez or where he trains at, but perhaps relocating to where an intelligent trainer can help him out is best for him. that or he can ride out the rest of his career fighting bums or guys more washed up than him. i don't keep up with green or spada's career so i'm not sure about them. i don't see a reason why vitali and viloria should retire right now.

there's also mosley and the winner of brook/senchenko. i'm actually okay with him being matched with any top 20 WW gbp can find for him. perhaps they can try to negotiate a van heerden fight just so he can try and grab hold of that ibo strap.

I said fighting shape, not weigh-in weight. A fully hydrated Chavez enters the ring at 180 pounds and that's the weight where he has little excess fat. The point I'm making is that he does not look anywhere near that magical 180 number so it's hard for me to believe he's only 185. perhaps it's a muscle and fat thing? not sure, but putting on 20 pounds after weighing 160 the day before would probably look different then taking off 20 pounds after weeks of walking around at 200. either way, has chavez ever missed weight in his pro career? i think he'll be fine reaching the weight limit, he always balloons up in weight after every fight. vera should just say fuck it, let the kid come in at whatever weight he wants and go on the juice if he feels he needs it. it's not like they'll be testing these fighters, chavez for all we know could be using diuretics for this camp.

yeah, rios is an entertaining fighter, but it'd be nice to see pacman get back on the winning side to continue his career. i'm sure most fight fans wouldn't mind seeing a fifth marquez fight, but some part of me wants those negotiations to fall through so pacquiao can fight other guys. if alvarado beats provodnikov, that'd be an easy fight for top rank to make. hell, i'd prefer pacman fight bradley again (regardless of the jmm/bradley fight outcome) before we see a fifth marquez fight (just to see him avenge an unjustified loss). i mean, what else is there over at top rank besides vargas? too bad this top rank/gbp feud is still going on, pacman would have some fun fight possibilities with gbp's stable if he beat rios.

only time i've seen a fight at a theater was mayweather/guerrero. it was a pretty cool experience. no one really talked shit or yelled stuff (people obviously reacted when good shots were landed though). the theater i went to was in a good neighborhood, so maybe some advice would be to hit up a theater that isn't in a bad neighborhood. brawls could break out if you got enough drunk/crazy people in the room. try fandango's website to see the available theaters around you. that's really the only website that comes to mind right now.

i wouldn't rule out the idea that cano is still improving at the age of 23. he gave mosley a decent fight and gave malignaggi all he could handle. i haven't seen much of jones, i'll be honest, but if the jones that showed up against brook the other night got in the ring with cano, he would probably get another beatdown. i'd favor cano in this one.

Pac will need a bigger win that Rios, that's a joke of a fight I think Pac should rematch Bradley after Rios, that will bring him back in to the forefront, he needs a win over someone young and rated, Rios is punch drunk and it's a joke that he got to fight Pac over Alvardo if pacquiao destroys rios and stops him say under six, i think most people (especially casuals) will eat it up. i agree with you though, pacquiao should rematch bradley or get another solid win after rios before talking about mayweather/pacquiao again. sometimes things are rushed in this sport, so i wouldn't say a rios win for pacman would be too soon. i think people will start talking about pacman again after he beats rios. i still think arum won't allow it though (may/pac), and has the winners of marquez/bradley or alvarado if he beats provodnikov lined up for him next.

It actually works out for both fighters. Floyd vs Pacquiao May 3rd Khan/Devon winner fights again somehwere near or after May 3rd vs Danny Garcia Winner of that fight gives Floyd anther opponent (that would sell) Sept 14th.... I don't think Garcia will be sacrified just yet, he needs a couple more wins to build his fan base up. GBP will bank on Khan beating Devon so they get a Khan vs Garcia rematch @ 147lbs.....winner vs Floyd Sept of 2014. It makes sense for both camps now. Besides the other full champions, which fighters do you think would make some amazing mandatory compared to Vera? Sturm is coming off two loses. N'dam is coming off his Quillin losses and has that rematch clause. Zbik is coming off two loses. Proksa was already beaten by Golovkin. Rubio is the mandatory for Quillin. Macklin would be fine (he's not even listed in the WBA rankings for whatever reason), but since losing officially losing to Sturm and Martinez, he's only win is Alcine. Murray actually made sense when he was the WBA interim champ, but he's fighting Martinez. Solimon is the IBF mandatory, but who knows what's going on with his positive drug test. That pretty much leaves the fringe contenders in the Vera quality. Yes, it's strange that Vera isn't ranked in the WBA rankings and suddenly is the mandatory, but some of the guys ahead of Vera in the WBA list are even stranger. wba's top 15 according to fightnews.com 1. Seems odd, i dont see him having success at 147. lopez? his biggest win was at WW against ortiz. i think him and his trainer have hinted at problems making 140 in recent interviews. plus, i wouldn't suggest it after having his last fight at 154. maidana is also not a big WW.
