If the fight does happen, Who would bring out the best Khan for his fight with Mayweather?
I prefer him with Roach, but would also like to see what Pedro Diaz could do with Khan.
So who should Khan's HC for his Mayweather bout and why?
He's been working with Hunter in the gym for the past 8 months or something.
So yeah the logical step would be to go back to Roach. Derp!
:lol1: yeah, why would someone ask this? better question would have been "who has a better chance vs may: khan w/ roach or khan w/ hunter?"
i put hunter in the poll because he's been with him for a while now, might as well just stick with him. it would be interesting to have had khan stay with roach and have them go up against mayweather though. either way, khan isn't winning this one, haha.
I think Roach's style would be more suited to beating Floyd, but it really doesn't matter. Both are great trainers in different ways, and neither one can really help what's wrong with Khan, he's picked up too many bad habits he's never fixed and his chin is too weak. The only question in this farce of a matchup is whether or not Floyd will be able to stop Khan even with his safety-first style(I vote yes).
Stay with Virgil, Roach doesn't have one of those neck machine for khan chin.
Actually, I think that Virgil Hunter is bad for Khan's neck problems because Virgil never comes in the ring in between rounds. Between rounds, Khan needs to twist his delicate neck for 60 seconds and listen to Virgil ..... not good!
I don't blame Roach or Hunter, Khan is just stupid that's all.
Basically this. If he could tone the stupid down at least vs good punchers itd be one thing.... But he goes full retard.
Kahn lost two in a row with Roach.... I'll go eith Hunter for now. Roach had Kahn looking good when he was attacking but that it. Kahn cant overwhelm everyone and if its one thing many criticize Roach for its his fighters often lack of a plan B. Its..attack..attack...attack... No defense? Thats cool, you got a chin. Except Kahn missed the good chin memo lol
The trainer does not matter. Khan's problem cannot be fixed by a trainer. He's a very good boxer all on his own, with a bad chin. There's nothing Hunter, Roach, or any trainer could do to solve Khan's punch resistance issues.
Khan does need direction, he needs strategy, he can't think by himself in the ring and I think Roach's technique worked by bringing out the best in Khan's strengths. Something Hunter hasn't been able to do yet which seems to have left Khan's weaknesses even more exposed, we'll see what he comes up with for his next fight.
Roach was great with Khan, just whenever he lost he would blame someone other than himself, Virgil Hunter is taking away his best tools. Roach made him sharp and quick, from what I have seen of Khan with Hunter he is anything but sharp and quick.
The trainer does not matter. Khan's problem cannot be fixed by a trainer. He's a very good boxer all on his own, with a bad chin. There's nothing Hunter, Roach, or any trainer could do to solve Khan's punch resistance issues.
With Roach he had that constant attacking style with movement which worked as a defense to some extent whereas with Hunter, he seems to be thinking too much about when to let his hands go, leaving himself more vulnerable and inviting his opponents to get their shots off instead of worrying about what might be coming back. Molina and Diaz didn't have to counter as much as Khan's previous opponents because at some points, especially against Diaz, Khan was just stood there looking uncertain about when to throw is combinations.
