- - Manny who was only trying to serve l'l floydy the shushi that he ordered made l'l floydy run cower in the corner with his back turned to Manny, easy DQ.
Easy DQ save for the Vegas Commish had to alter the scorecards after they had Manny in the Red Corner winning.
U when pitted outside blackness quickly fade to dumb bones...:bottle:
Outside ?
i think if you train hard and have physical attributes you can go far. I mean if jake paul can beat pros why not Fabio? Does Jake paul have amatuer pedigree?
I mean Fabios attributes is power and decent chin. So with those attributes he must try win within distance. If it goes to points hed likely have less than a 49% chance of victory.
Jakr Paul has yet to beat any contender boxer ! And Jake Paul got these opportunities with money and fame. How did Fabio Wardley get them ?
I imagine most fighters who fight at Cruiser are doing so because thats their naturally best weight, or they are natural Lt Heavies who aged up into it. I mean its no different than any other weight, fighters fight where they are at their best, if 200lbs is where you are able to compete at your best then you fight there.
Citing Usyk's success is not really beneficial, as he is an all time great. Its like asking why don't all sprinters just run a 9.6 like Usain Bolt.
Now you stretching it. He’s great but he is not the greatest
I don't think he'd be as big. Hearn did an amazing job of promoting him and practically brought in a new audience/era of casuals and cucks.
The U.S is massive but they don't care for boxing, they never got behind Wilder or any other HW prospect in recent times. They don't care for smaller fighters either anymore. Which American even does good numbers? Tank maybe, about it.
Ryan Garcia had better PPV numbers than Wilder vs Fury 3. Wilder is not as handsome & articulate as AJ which also plays a role with AJ markability.
Remember, compubox is just a couple guys clicking a button to when they think a punch landed, and in no way does it indicate the accuracy or force of the punch itself. Its not amateurs where its just a point per punch landed.
That being written, lets actually look at the punchstats. In only two separate rounds, 5 and 7 respectively, did Garcia out land in power punches. If we look at total punches landed, there were four separate rounds (1, 5, 7, and 8) in which he had more than a single total landed advantage. Romero also had four rounds (2, 6, 11, and 12) in which he had more than a single punch advantage in total lands.
That leaves rounds 3, 4, 9, and 10 as being roughly even with the punchstats. In both 3 & 4 each fighter the same amount of power shots, and in each Garcia landed one more jab- so we give him those two. In each of rounds 9 and 10 Romero landed one more power shot, which in lieu of one fighter landing a preponderance of more punches seems to be fair, so we give him those.
Mix in the KD, and this lands it at 114-113 for Romero.
Like I wrote earlier, its not amateurs, so just landing the most touches doesnt win it for you. You need to cause some sort of damage. This can be done by landing a preponderance of shots, which compubox points to neither fighter doing, or you can land the better shots- which compubox cant show, but I think most agree that Rolly did.
If that’s the case Wilder vs Fury 1 was actually a draw ?
People with shorter limbs can find grappling easier than striking for sure. Once you get in close to someone it's a more even playing field.
People with vision impairments pretty much only have grappling as an option. You can do Judo/Jiu-Jitsu while blind, but a blind striker is dead.
People with thick torsos, lower centers of gravity can be more difficult to move around.
Some people just plain can't take a punch.
Im the opposite of those I got long arms and medium torso unless you consider a big chest as a thick torso
Some people will take to striking better, other people will take to grappling better. It will vary from person to person and from teacher to teacher. Maybe your jiu jitsu instructor or training partners are better than your boxing coach and sparring partners, or maybe your body type and mentality are more suited to grappling.
What body type is better for grappling?
Roberto Duran, Salvador Sanchez, Alexis Arguello, Eusebio Pedtoza, Jeff Chandler, Chiquita Gonzalez, Kid Gavilan, José Napoles, Azumah Nelson, Mike Tyson, Marvin Hagler, Emile Griffith, just to mention a few.
Mike Tyson highly disagree
If I’m not mistaken the rules were changed , the fighter needing to be a minimum of 200 lbs
I do recall something to that degree and I think tge rule was changed when the Bridgerweight came into action so to say
A guy 190 lb recently fought a guy 270 lb ?
Same reason we haven’t seen an NBA player like Michael Jordan.
Roy was a 1 of 1.
We seen quite a few guys with nearly the same level of athleticism as Jordan like Vince Carter,Lebron,Zion,D.Rose,AI,Westbrook and Anthony Edwards
Corrie sanders, Tommy Morrison, Gerry cooney, Vladimir kitsch punched as hard as anyone
Not as hard as Foreman,Tyson,Shavers and Wilder. Im not saying others can’t hard. Im saying why is the Black American usually the hardest hitter
I don't think it is entirely true though from a perspective it might appear so. You mentioned heavyweight. That right there cuts out a lot of perhaps latino fighters that hit hard, however they just don't grow into heavyweight sized humans. Andy Ruiz was an exception mostly being fat but not the height and he hits Okay, though it's not enough if you're talking numbers of them going up to heavyweight to know for sure. Cause... there are a lot of lesser hitting heavyweight black dudes as well.
Tommy Morrison hit hard, but again, I guess you don't see too many white heavyweights, at least now nowadays. So they're outnumbered.
So if you remove heavyweight altogether, I'd say it's not just black dudes that hit hardest. Valero from South America had a 100% KO ratio... Tons of strong Mexicans, Ricans, etc. It just comes down to who you're seeing fight the most these days and for what division.
Im not saying it’s just them. Im saying they usually are the hardest hitters
Canelo vs fighters that won a major world title at some point in their careers (not counting secondary/interim):

W vs Gennadiy Golovkin MD 12 (another robbery, GGG whooped his ass again)
W vs Danny Jacobs UD 12
W vs Sergey Kovalev KO 11
W vs Callum Smith UD 12
W vs Billy Joe Saunders RTD 8

Other notable wins: Austin Trout, John Ryder, Josesito Lopez, Edgar Berlanga, Matthew Hatton, Avni Yildirim, Rocky Fielding, Alfredo Angulo, James Kirkland
Even with the two GGG robberies, it's not hard to understand why Canelo was well regarded. He became risk-averse after the Bivol loss but that doesn't change what happened before that.
Titles won
154: Ring, WBC
160: Lineal/TBRB, Ring, WBA, WBC, IBF
168: Lineal/TBRB, Ring, WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO undisputed
175: WBO
Who is a great on that list ?
hall of fame? why would he get in the hall? he literally has 2 top 10 wins his entire career and they arent super impressive wins to be honest
I don’t like him but he’s definitely a hall of famer
UFC has more household names than boxing. There is very few American boxing household names. Some top boxing fights can do bigger pay-per-view numbers than UFC though.
Name 5
Fury actually defeated Usyk and was robbed similar to Ward/Kovalev 1. Unlike AJ who was actually beaten by him back to back. The only difference is that due to the fake Ukraine war nonsense that is being shoved down our throats even though we don’t give a **** was used to propagate Usyk as a Ukrainian god/saint and no way they could have him lose to Fury. Fury won that fight and was robbed.
U on straight up bull
Also true, although in regards to Boxing vs MMA i think it is harder to make it in boxing. First and foremost you need to have good people around, look at Usyk Below trained by Loma's dad. Mike Tyson trained by Cus D'Amato etc. These things matter just as much.

Something not talked about in boxing. How important it is to have the right people invested in you I witnessed boxers with skills and dedication literally go no where but win a few amateur fights because they didn’t have the right people invest them
In their PRIME. Both Klitzchco’s. Lewis of course. He proved that. Holmes and Bowe and of course Holyfield who was just a beast. A giant slayer.
The Klitzchco bros I doubt it especially Wldamir. If Wldamir could get KO’d by Brewster imagine what Tyson would do to him. Vitali is close but if Lewis could cut him badly imagine what Tyson would do. Lewis would get KO’d in the early rounds against a prime Tyson. I think Bowe would whoop Tyson.
Lots. Lewis, foreman, the k’s too. Evander obviously. Tyson has a punchers chance against anyone but his best win is probably Holmes or spinks. Other than that his wins are fairly thin. He lost twice to evander, never fought Bowe. In fact I think he was very very carefully matched after he came out of prison.
Lewis chin was average he only defeated Mike because he was out of his prime. Imagine if Tyson fought him while he was in his prime Lewis would be sleeping in the canvas.
I can say, height definitely adds to more leverages which translates to more power. I'll give you a real life scenario I participated in a year ago.
My job puts on these Olympic events every summer. I work in IT. We did a tug of war event and I was on the team that was made up of tall (over 6'2), skinny, never worked out a day in their life dudes (nerds). Then me. I'm 6ft even, workout every day at the gym natty and get called a freak by many of my peers there for performing outrageous feats of strength with zero supplements minus my 15 dollar walmart preworkout. We were destroying every team we came up against and made it to the finals.
In the finals, our competition team had 2 guys that go to the gym and were short. Then the rest of their team was a mix of tall, non-tall, skinny, skinny fat, nerdy dudes.
While we ended up losing, we gave them hell and they were destroying the competition themselves leading up to our finals together. We nearly had them except our one tall goofy guy in the front ended up slipping when we were pulling them over to our side and after that we lost our momentum.
My point being, I was on a team that never lifted a weight in their life, were just tall, skin and bones and we were wrecking most of the comp that had dudes that go to the gym but were short and I feel it was due to the leverage these tall mofos get. That or I'm just so damn strong, it was all on me to get us to the finals and nearly pull the entire other team across on my own.
Okay, /coolstorybroendthread.
It’s you being strong because taller people can be off balance easily
Usyk is the greatest southpaw heavyweight ever.
That in itself is a problem for anyone in history.
They will have never faced, or sparred anyone with his skillset.
They would've found it hard to find any southpaws to spar, never mind Usyk.
His body shot weakness would be taken advantage of by Heavyweights like Tua,Tyson,Holyfield
i think usyk did hurt AJ at times during their fights & had enough pop to keep him honest so he could do his work type of thing, same with fury, usyk was 224 weighin, usyk would be weaker, be affected by heavy punches more & have less power at 203 than at 224, that would be enough to tip the scales from hero to zero
But it’s done before where guys below -210 lb beat guys 230 lb+
