I agree Andre Ward is the most recent. He could fight on the back foot or the front foot, inside or outisde. Both very effectively.
Salvador Sanchez was also brilliant on the outside or inside.
Thought he fought primarily as a slugger at both ages
his defense changed a lot though and his over all style. first era he was the mummy and second he used a lot of cross arm defense
Marco Antonio Barrera, pressure fighter onto a crafty boxer puncher.
Would had likely beaten JMM if he was younger. Also hitting him after he was knocked down didn't help him in the scorecards.

I'd go with young Ali who was fast and could stand on the outside and snap that jab at ya until he could overwhelm you with punches.
Then he got old and couldn't do that as much, so he started to utilize the "rope-a-dope" strategy a lot more.
And obviously, "Pretty Boy Floyd" versus "Money Mayweather"
Thomas Hearns. Murderous puncher, fine boxer.
Roberto Duran. No explanation needed.
On a secondary level, John Mugabi. He was an underrated boxer when at his best.
