I dunno I think he might have problems if he gets banned from Boxing (for more than 3 months) He'll get in trouble with the law
That's a given. He manages to get into trouble with the law when he isn't banned from boxing.
Maybe he should buy a shitty three wheel vans and sell knock off stuff for a while, chill out a bit.
He comes off very well in this version of events... shame that we all know he had played a part in all this as well. As for hitting his own trainer and cutting his head open... that was pure genius.
Honestly can someone show me the video of Haye hitting both with a tripod?
All i have seen is Haye dropping Chisora with a 1-2 then beasting on him with some elbows before getting pulled of and aiming a punch at a guy with a red chisora hoddie on (his trainer?)
Just watch the video, after Haye gets into a fight with his trainer, you can see Booth (In a blue shirt) get involved. You can then see Haye in the background swing a tripod and catch Booth with it. The quality is pretty bad so you may have missed it first time.
I meant more In terms of mentally rather than in the ring abilty ect.
I agree that it was kinda Haye's fault as he had no business being at the post fight conference but still It's not exacty the smartest thing in the world saying that your gonna "shoot" someone in front of the press.
that's the sort of thing people with anger management issues and people who end up in prison do...
good to see a good poster back tho ;)
Nah, Haye had a right to be there as much as the others, but they both caused the conflict. Haye could have ignored him, or not got involved in an argument, he didn't have to throw punches etc, they're both to blame, but Chisora looks worse because he's been way out of line all along. Slapping Vitali, spitting at Wladimir... he's a bit mental.
I don't think he's mentally unstable as such, he's just a thug, and I wouldn't be shocked to see him in trouble with the police again soon... that's if he gets off from this, anyway.
Not at all.
Ibeabuchi was actually talented. Chisora is just a thug with a big mouth, fair play for putting up a good fight, but no one will remember it after all his antics surrounding the fight. Also, the blame for the brawl lays with Haye as well as Chisora, imo.
I think he's fine physically, but I don't think he'll be all there mentally after two stoppage losses. The Ward fight was a one sided beat down, which must have played on his mind a bit. But at least with that he could excuse it as being drained...
But to suffer a first round KO straight after? I don't know how easy it will be to recover mentally from that.
Depending on Murray's punch resistance, this could be a decent test. He's a pretty strong guy, so will be interesting if he can push GGG back. If not, he will likely suffer a similar fate to Mack... I expect him to last longer though.
The weight is no excuse.
While I agree, Canelo would clearly be a lot bigger than Mayweather, it's not an excuse while Mayweather is a 154 lb champion. If he was to drop the belt and say "I'm done with 154, I'm too small" or something like that, then fair enough (although 90% of NSB would cry "duck"). However, as long as he's got that belt... then we've gotta look at potential fights in the class.
I hope it happens at some point. I don't necessarily think it needs to be Mayweather's next fight, but I hope it happens sometime next year at least.
Easily Mayweather-Hatton. I spent MONTHS on this site, every single day going back and forth with users about that bout. UK fans truly back their fighters. I remember not going to sleep that friday night due to excitement. My heart pounded every single round and when Floyd got the TKO, it's was all worth it. Definitely the most fun time to be on this site was during that bout.
I agree with everything said here. That fight was huge, every round had me on the edge of my seat.
Martinez vs Chavez Jr.
it was a fight between the good and evil
between a man who struggled and fought his way up to the throne with no huge fan base .
and a spoiled kid of a legendary father and people who support their men " even **** ones "
This one had me worried for the first six rounds. I was worried that Sergio would get caught and hurt because of how huge Jr looked, then I got comfortable in the second half. I nearly had a heart attack in the 12th :lol1:
Also gotta throw Cotto - Margarito in there too. I was rooting for Cotto big time, felt he was winning but the second round had made it clear Marg could get to him... then Marg wore it down and took him out. I couldn't believe it :lol1:
Also, funnily, Khan - Diaz had me going crazy. I almost didn't watch, thinking it would be just like the Molina fight. Then Khan got dropped in the fourth, and I was like "Whoaaaa, we got a fight!". Then Khan took over again until late when Diaz really started getting to him. It was crazy. I was screaming for Diaz to pull the upset off going into that last round
Nothing has beaten Froch-Taylor for me.
How did I forget that... that was insane.
I thought Froch was fucked early in the fight. He was getting out-boxed, getting hit with massive shots, got dropped... then clawed it back in the second half. Crazy night.
I had a feeling there would be a catchweight when I read it, especially after Mayweather saying he wanted at 147 at first... no way he would totally give up on his demand for Canelo to drop some weight for the fight.
Haters
Pacman gets hate on a lot
My *****s
Floyd gets hate from *******s lol whatever
My issue is pacman got knocked out I'm cool with that but now he has a glass chin? C'mon PAC is the best fighter of our era
Floyd is the best boxer of our era.
Now PAC is getting hate for fighting rios but y'all forgot PAC cleared the damn Ww division and he always gives you your money worth
So... what is your issue with Manny, then? Your thread title is "My issue with Manny Pacquaio" but you never actually mention an issue.
Infact, you actually contradict yourself at one point, saying "My issue is pacman got knocked out I'm cool with that". So, is this your issue or are you cool with it? Cause you can't be both, that makes no sense.
Yeah it backfired. And I explained it from a philosophical point of view. If you can't understand that, I don't know how to make it any more clear.
I don't think "philosophy" means what you think it does...
Please read this definition then explain what was 'philosophical' about your post.

Don't remember if anyone mentioned Kelly Pavlik. His win over Taylor was great, but he didn't do anything in his reign worth mentioning. The Taylor rematch was up in weight too, iirc, so that doesn't really add to his title reign much, imo.
Haye didn't look hurt to me, it looked like he was knocked off balance and nothing more. However, I agree that Fury has the power to hurt Haye. Haye has always had stamina issues, and doesn't have an iron chin... so when he tires, he can be hurt fairly easily.
Fury can win the fight, but I think he has to make it into the second half to do so. For the first six rounds, Haye should be too fast and elusive for him.
ofcourse he is ...he aint down if pac wins tho ...lol
I came here knowing someone would make some comment alluding to JMM ducking Manny, and wasn't disappointed. I expected to at least get to the second or third post before that got thrown in :lol1:
If you want to discuss rappers, there's a forum for that. NSB, which if you remember correctly, stands for Non-Stop Boxing, is for Boxing discussion.
Also, fuck Broners rapping and persona.
If Hopkins hasn't got old (Which is a question that needs to be asked before any of his fights these days) I think he could win this. Mainly based on GGG moving up while Hopkins is more comfortable at the weight. But then, we don't know how GGG would perform at the weight. There are too many question marks to really predict it with much certainty, imo, but I would pick Hopkins by decision.
I scored it to De La Hoya the first time I watched it, but it was a pretty biased score-card. When I re-watched it with a level head, I had it 8-4 Mayweather, the same score I've given every time I've watched it since then.
The Cotto, Mosley and Judah fights were all also clear wins for Mayweather. Cotto made Mayweather fight all the way 'till the end, and landed some good shots, but I had that pretty wide as well. Mosley only really did anything in the second round, and Judah only fought on even terms with Mayweather for 4 rounds. The myth that Judah dominated those rounds is pretty common now, but from what I remember it wasn't as if Judah clearly won all four of those rounds.
As for the first Castillo fight, only scored it once or twice. I had it very slightly in Mayweathers favour. If I remember correctly, it as JLC giving away too many early rounds that lost it for him on my card. Haven't watched it in a long time though, so can't comment with much certainty.
It's not just the KD he suffered; it's the fact he was open to the overhand right all night. He's also been dropped in the past by the same punch, so the Cunningham KD wasn't just a fluke.
I think Fury has a chance if he makes it through the first 4 - 6 rounds, but with his defensive lapses and Hayes speed and power combination, I doubt Fury's still standing by round 6.
It will help if the fighter has had trouble making the weight.
Hearns didn't have a bad chin though, I think that's a totally overblown myth. He got stopped more due to tiredness than a weak chin, imo. Ray Leonard didn't take him out until the 14th round, Hagler was a strong, hard punching guy who took him out in an all out war. Barkley... well, sometimes you just get caught with a big shot. I don't think his chin was bad at all.
Khan, the example you used, has already improved his chin by moving up. Although he seems to be getting wobbled by every taxi-driver he encounters these days, when he first moved up to 140 his chin was much better, imo. When he was at lightweight he got dropped hard by guys like Michael Gomez and Willie Limond, then he moves up to 140 and manages to survive an onslaught for Maidana. I think he drained himself to get to LW and weakened himself as a result, it could be that he has not outgrown 140 and needs to move up to 147.
His chin still won't be good though, he just won't be doing a chicken dance every time a strong gust of wind blows on his chin.
The best scenario I can see for Canelo is if it turned out something like the Vargas encounter. Oscar may have trouble with Canelo's strength and power early on but he would outlast him and possibly stop him late.
Prime De La Hoya puts a beatdown on the current version of Canelo, imo.
Ah yes sorry his domestic career, Brian Magee, Tony Dodson etc.
But then he was dropped and left in the dark for quite a while until they picked him back on.
So Glen Johnson was his first fight (back) on Sky, is what I should have said.
And he certainly was unknown in the grand scheme of things. He was about as known as Martin Murray is now to the casual audience.
Yeah, he definitely wasn't well know, I just meant he'd had more exposure on TV earlier in his career than your post indicated. It is very strange that after having his domestic career shown on Sky, then his first title fight on ITV that he was relegated to lesser known subscription channels for a long time.
Anyone have any idea why that happened? I'm sure there was a reason, but I have no idea what it might be :lol1:
His first fight on Sky Sports was the Glen Johnson fight.
Up until that point he was completely unknown to the casual audience and all of his fights were on Primetime, a channel that literally no one knows of.
It's genuinely amazing how he's become the superstar he is. No one saw that coming.
His fight with Robin Reid was on Sky Sports in 2007, and as far as I know a few of his other fights around that time were on Sky. His fights against Albert Rybacki and Jean Pascal were shown in ITV 1, one of the largest TV channels in the UK.
So, he wasn't that unknown. He was just massively overshadowed by guys like Hatton, Khan and Haye.
He was very far from a popular British boxing star though. I think it was probably the Bute fight that confirmed him as a star.
Oh, no doubt. He was only known to boxing fans, and even then a lot of the more casual fans still didn't really know who he was. I just meant he wasn't underground as the post I responded to made it sound like.
It took a long, long time for him to get out of the shadows of the bigger British names.
I would agree the Bute fight was the fight that got him noticed a lot more. He was getting more recognition through his will to fight anyone over the years, but I think that destruction job made more casual fans begin to take notice of him.
Personally, I think Khans style is more of an issue than Maidana's... however, Khans weak chin and leaky defence would be serious issues. However, Maidana is the one who deserves the fight, Khan has done nothing noteworthy recently.
What do you guys think? In my opinion he shouldn't have.
He shoulda given a 10 count if he was in doubt. To stop it was totally, undisputably wrong.
How could he give a 10 count to a fighter that wasn't on the canvas?
However, I have to agree with pretty much everyone else in the thread, the stoppage was early. I do think that Froch was heading to a legitimate stoppage, though. Groves was genuinely shaken and had been getting caught more often and more cleanly over the last could of rounds, but he deserved a fighting chance.
