Lamont won the IBF title from Khan by one point, despite failing a drugs test. He didn't get stripped, has now been ko'd and is still champ! Can anyone beat that?
Seriously, I've never seen a more scared champion in the ring than Ramos was. I know it was RiGODeaux, but still, man up.
I know i was rooting for Rigo but that was some disgraceful ish he got hit with maybe one Hard body shot and the entire rest of the fight he didn't throw sh*t didnt even try i was :purity: lost all my remaining respect for what a WC belt mean.
Oleg Maskaev!
My God he was bad! gets the surprise KO win over Rahman, defends it once....then goes away for a year and a half before getting KO'd by Sam "Who Necks" Peters. awful awful awful, and that was the WBC strap, the most prestigious of all the alphabet titles.
maskaev wasn't a terrific fighter, and he was about as slow a boxer as you'll see, but he was in some fun fights.
right next to me!
Championships dont mean that much to me anymore there are actually so many options and examples of wtf champions that i cant even pick one. Last one i thought "wtf who dafuq made him champion" was Rico Ramos getting abused by RIgondeaux's body shots.

If we count the IBO then Danny Green hands down. "When you beat a legend, you become a legend!" SMDH
If we only count the big 4 then it's K9. Honorable mention to guys like Hlatshwayo, Senchenko, Sylvester.

calzaghe easy look at all the cans he fought, Guys that aren't even good enough to be considered for a janitors position or cleaning the jizz off the floor at the local KFC
Alex Arthur gets my vote, but there have been some pretty bad ones. As far as Heavyweight's go...Buster Douglas had a pretty bad 'reign'. Beats Tyson, who trained mainly on a diet of geisha girls and cocaine, then turns up some months later only to do an impression of Jabba the Hut on a valium overdose against Holyfield.

He's only defended it once against Holt. It hasn't been a impressive title reign, but far from the worst.
cheated his way to a dodgy decision goes off the PEDs gets flattened in 3 rounds, yup pretty crappy alright. The one fighter I truly can't stand right now
Lamont Peterson represents a few things wrong with the sport of boxing. 1) The cheating involved, to win his belt he juiced up, the WBA made the correct decision in stripping him of his title, but the IBF dropped the ball by allowing him to continue serving as a champion. 2) Being champ whilst losing to Mathysse represents the politics that plague the sport, the moment it became clear that the additional pound was added to prevent putting the title on the line, the IBF should have stripped him of his title.
Actually Khan won the Peterson fight on my scorecard (even with the point deductions).
But anyways, Peterson is a really good boxer and I have seen a lot worse world champions than him.
how i saw it as well...and not surprised peterson gets the decision in his OWN HOMETOWN...but it was nice to see someone like matthysse break him apart like he did.
I think lately the most disappointing - not the worst - has to be Jermaine Taylor. I respect Taylor but his middleweight reign underwhelmed big time.
Well Taylor may have disappointed but Abraham's middleweight reign was really sad.
He won a vacant title and defended it 10 times. Out of those 10 defenses Edison Miranda was by far the best opponent he faced. That really puts into perspective how awful his opposition was and how a 10 defense champ could get beaten so badly 4 times once he stepped up to world class.
That award goes to Alex Arthur. Handed the WBO Super-featherweight title after Joan Guzman vacated. He lost it in his next fight against Nicky Cook.
The arrogant self publicist goes about telling anyone who will listen that he was a world champion. On paper, yes, but he neither won it in the ring or defended it.
Carlos Maussa
Valuev?? That guy shouldn't even have had a belt in the first place. Both fights that got him there were from gift decisions. One of the worst title holders ever.
Nathan Cleverly.

Agree with these.
