Fight that you got so emotionally involved in that you were spent when your fighter lost or felt like you just won the lottery when your fighter won. What was the one fight you got the most involved in ever?
For me and it was partially because I was probably 3 times the legal limit when I watched it would be Kevin Kelly vs Alejandro Gonzalez. I remember being so depressed he lost in my drunkenness and couldn't stop worrying about his kids and family. Lol. Interesting enough, a fight I watched sober that I was almost ready to punch my tv screen was Kevin Kelly vs Naseem Hamed. On the flip side the fight that had me on Cloud nine because my fighter won was Roy Jones vs James Toney
Martinez Chavez Jr had me pretty high for about a week...kept re-watching the multiple angles upload, watching Chavez getting punched in the face from four different angles.
Just of the back of my head:
Happy memories:
Haye - Valuev
Froch - Kessler I
Froch - Bute
Foreman - Moorer
Hatton - Tszyu
Froch - Taylor
Sad memories:
Hatton - Senchenckho
RJJJr - Tarver II
Williams - Martinez
Chisora - Helenius
hatton vs pac.... it was short, but it was a crazy rollercoaster of emotions.
Also Hatton vs Mayweather...
Ultimately though, I think Margaritto vs Cotto, I was a Marg fan before I knew he was a cheater and then defended him awhile post allocations, but eventually the evidence was overwhelming.
Anyway, I really liked Cotto, but was rooting for margaritto, cause I liked his style, his "take five shots to deliver one" (makes sense why he did that now)...
But that fight had me exhausted.
I'm dreading the day floyd gets beat I'm a huge fan, travelled from Ireland twice to watch him box and never fully enjoy watching his fights the first time
Yeah, I know the feeling. I can't fully enjoy his fights either because I know people want to see him lose so badly. I sometimes get nervous when Floyd fights because he has so much to lose. The second round of the Mosley fight had me very nervous but since then I've come to have more faith in Floyd and his abilities.
Nothing has beaten Froch-Taylor for me.
How did I forget that... that was insane.
I thought Froch was fucked early in the fight. He was getting out-boxed, getting hit with massive shots, got dropped... then clawed it back in the second half. Crazy night.

Hagler-SRL that loss still bothers me today. I was depressed for a while
Shane-ODH 1-I HATE ODH and had a a couple thousand on Shane. I was SO into that fight.
I was incredibly happy when:
Rigondeaux schooled Donaire
Martinez stayed in the fight after the horrific 12th round he had.
Marquez laid out Pacquiao.
Sad when:
Morales got KTFO by Garcia.
agreed...morales fought every one even when old and out gunned...stopped liking Garcia after that ko

Worst had to be between - Tyson v Lewis, Jones v Tarver 2 or Cotto v Margarito 1. I was 10 for the Tyson fight but all the kids in my area that I knew were hyped for that fight, I couldn't stay up to watch but when I caught what happened to Tyson I was gutted totally.
I started watching the sport AVIDLY in 2006 and I saw a documentary, highlights and interviews of RJJ at his peak and then when I stumbled across that KO. Man was it shocking. RJJ seemed like one of those untouchable type of fighters who would never lose/get old.
I never liked Margarito, Cotto started the fight great, moving and doing good but you could tell Margaritos punches were HARD and they were slowing him down bit by bit. Cotto has never been the same since that fight. I still haven't been able to watch the fight in its entirety.
BEST moment: BY FAR for me was when I saw Cotto beat Margarito. Redemption. He outclassed Margarito, out boxed him and never let him settle. Seeing Cotto just staring him down once he was announced as the winner was crazy. Pure, raw emotion. I honestly wanted to see Cotto retire after that because I felt he would never look that good ever again and I was right. It's a shame, his style is not made for 30+ fighters, he's taken a lot of damage and hes fighting at a weight class he does not belong in.
I was really conflicted in the Manny v Cotto fight because Manny bought something to the sport which was REALLY lacking and IMO he carried it for a few years with his amazingly entertaining style but I was still a big Cotto fan too but I knew Cotto would lose simply because of how awful he looked vs Clottey and how I knew how much that first Margarito fight took out of him.

I shook like a leaf for Chavez/Martinez the whole way through, nerves were on edge. I think Cotto/Margarito was the only fight where I felt a bit gutted, though I didn't dislike Margarito. Cotto took a beating and it left me drained afterwards.

Easily Mayweather-Hatton. I spent MONTHS on this site, every single day going back and forth with users about that bout. UK fans truly back their fighters. I remember not going to sleep that friday night due to excitement. My heart pounded every single round and when Floyd got the TKO, it's was all worth it. Definitely the most fun time to be on this site was during that bout.
I agree with everything said here. That fight was huge, every round had me on the edge of my seat.
Martinez vs Chavez Jr.
it was a fight between the good and evil
between a man who struggled and fought his way up to the throne with no huge fan base .
and a spoiled kid of a legendary father and people who support their men " even **** ones "
This one had me worried for the first six rounds. I was worried that Sergio would get caught and hurt because of how huge Jr looked, then I got comfortable in the second half. I nearly had a heart attack in the 12th :lol1:
Also gotta throw Cotto - Margarito in there too. I was rooting for Cotto big time, felt he was winning but the second round had made it clear Marg could get to him... then Marg wore it down and took him out. I couldn't believe it :lol1:
Also, funnily, Khan - Diaz had me going crazy. I almost didn't watch, thinking it would be just like the Molina fight. Then Khan got dropped in the fourth, and I was like "Whoaaaa, we got a fight!". Then Khan took over again until late when Diaz really started getting to him. It was crazy. I was screaming for Diaz to pull the upset off going into that last round
Jones vs Tarver II: I probably didn't speak for a couple of hours.
Pacquiao vs Marquez IV: I couldn't believe what I saw.
I haven't seen a replay of either KO since they happened. It bothered me that much.. Both made me feel physically ill.
Froch-Bute was probably the happiest I've been during and after a fight in a long time. I was one of the few picking Froch to knock him out, but to see him smash Bute the way he did, I was smiling for a long time. I damn near started singing God Save the Queen.
That recent fight last December. Didn't help that everybody keep posting Photoshopped pics, kicking him while he's down.
As much as that sucked, I was so unhyped for the fight that it didn't bother me like it should. It wasn't fun at all, especially when the Mayweather fans acted like he got the KO for two weeks, but between my non-hype going into the fight and a general happiness for another ATG like Marquez, I got over it quick.
Now when Roy got knocked out, I almost stopped being a boxing fan. That made me sick.
