I used to like pro-wrestling, however now I despise it as there is so much fruityness on there. As for MMA I never watch it, ive always been a boxing guy through and through. I do know and have seen some highlights of many fighters and I like Conor Mcgregor.
I am not a fan of Haney, can't wait for him to lose to Tank or Loma, but come on guys. He beat Kambosos, deal with it, is Haney boring to watch? Yes, he is terrible, but at the end of the day, he beat Kambosos and I hope there will be no rematch. Its a complete waste of time, another boring UD win for Haney.
One big left hand will lay this ballerina out on the canvas and end his career for good.
Cannot wait! Really hope they make this fight. I got Tank winning it as well.
He is, without fighting anyone worth a damn. Fanboys are weird.
I am nobody's fanboy. I am just happy for him, Tank is like a son to me and I wish him and his family nothing but the best. He has had a rough life and deserves the success he is having.
Isn’t that the case with TV ratings and ppv sales across the board?
Canelo is the cash cow and he isn’t selling anywhere near Floyd. Boxing ratings have reset on regular TV as it occupies a different space in the sports atmosphere. Also far more sports on because there are any more apps and channels.
It seems you just don’t like Tank. Which is fine.
What is making you so mad that you label boxing fans that purchased the ppv “ d-ckriding fanboys”!
When you buy a Canelo fight, are you also a “d-ckridin fanboy”? What about other fans?
Dude, how about you tell us your real issue here because it isn’t rational that a boxing fan is mad when a boxer sells ppvs.
Exactly. Why would anyone be salty that boxing is performing? As a fan of the sport you should be happy for it. The thing about ratings is that they are down everywhere, people just don't watch television as much as they do, instead they watch netflix and youtube and other forms of entertainment. There is also more competition out there than ever. I only buy the PPVs of the fighters I really want to see, such as Tank, Lomachenko, Fury, Wilder, Crawford and Joseph Parker. Nothing wrong with that, but I won't be hating on someone doing numbers in the sport even if I personally didn't buy it or dislike the fighters, one person I would never support is Adrien Broner.
He’s reached Mayweather territory, no matter who he fights he’ll be criticized by blind haters. But he’s racking up an all time resume.
Exactly. Comes with the territory, once you are succesful people will never be happy and will hate on your success.
Fury’s team is trying to force a Whyte signing before arbitration is done . Yea Whytes the greedy one getting 20 percent of a fight they can’t do without him ? At some point you know when you aren’t on here you know Fury tried not to make this fight and when he loses you’ll see why . You aren’t a typical Fury liar but you are really gullible get your guy to fight if you like this fight you are in his protection program .
I base the 20% on Fury vs Klitschko
Fury got way less than Whyte is getting now, its a good deal, 20% is fair for the challenger, no matter who holds the belt
I think this would be a mismatch at this time, Crawford would probably stop Thurman, but it is hard to predict I concede that fact. What makes it difficult is the inactivity of Thurman it is hard to predict which Thurman shows up on fight night.
It’s going to be a very very bad night for you guys . Fury trying to walk into the sun set unscathed isn’t going to happen and he’ll retire after Whyte he’s not built like that coming back after a knockout loss .
I do agree if he loses Fury is finished, he already talks about retiring all the time. Sadly at this point us fans can just wait on Whyte to actually sign the contract and get the fight done, stop being greedy Dillian this is your chance, take the 20% and then flip the percentages if you win
What a mess. Has Whyte signed the damn contract or no? Either sign it or f**ck off. Anthony Joshua is the only boxer in this division you can trust to keep his word when it comes to saying "The fight is on!"
Fury and Whyte have been fighting on social media for too long, get it in the ring.
He will not get the fight, Canelo really dislikes GGG and wouldn't give him another payday. Plus lets be honest the fight isn't that interesting, Canelo beats him bad this time around. GGG is past prime
Whyte vs Joshua will be for undisputed in 2023 . Nothings going on all it is a bunch of scared little Fury fans on here making a big deal out of nothing most didn’t want Whyte to accept the fight because after he wins it’s an entire different outlook on Furys career .
Well I completely disagree with that, if the fight happens Fury will win it, no problem. Bookmark the post and holla at me :boxing: I know boxing
Well the desired dates I've heard are April for Fury vs Whyte and May for Usyk vs Joshua.
I would suggest that at this stage already its highly unlikely we will see undisputed this year, I can see both of these fights dragging out into the second part of the year, then chances are one of the winners gets injured or a cut or some sort of BS. In fact I've got a strong feeling AJ will get "injured" close to the Usyk fight and it'll be postponed 8-10 weeks to give him more time with his new trainer.
Usyk vs AJ was almost 5 months ago already and the rematch should have already happened as neither was injured
Fury vs Wilder 3 was 4 months ago and so we should be well into training camp for fury vs Whyte.
But instead they want another 2-3 months, it's so much faffing about and with the fact that nothing is ever straightforward in boxing and the winners of these two fights are super unlikely to come to a quick agreement and sign to fight each other 4 months after their respective fights, undisputed has already been pushed out to 2023 at the earliest imho.
Sad but you are right on the money, who knows if I will see undisputed hw in my lifetime.
His last two fights have been prolonged beat downs.
I know Wilder had 1 round where he dropped fury twice which made that fight seem less one sided but make no mistakes he got beat the eff up for like 20 straight rounds in his last two fights, and his chin got well and truly cracked.
As well as this he's now fought an opponent who his power has not been able to bail him out against, AND live opponents are going to be less awed by his power now and come to pressure and push him back.
As well as this, in the fury saga he's gone from being 32, to coming out the other side of it 36, is his stamina the same? His speed? Not sure on that.
I'm not saying Wilder can't win any big fights, but it's going to be harder now, he's in the same position as AJ currently is where his intimidation factor is low and opponents are really going to feel they can beat him and will fight with confidence.
Brilliant analysis and I believe he will retire
Personally I think his ability is more in question than his belief.
He's been financially set for a long time. But he's still been a very good champion. He's always had a clear goal that right now is in doubt - and I suspect he'll be entirely consumed by putting that right. We've never really seen him show anything else but absolute dedication.
Whether he's good enough? Ignoring the BoxingScene "AJ is crap" type posts (he clearly isn't) we're about to find out whether he's still a legitimate possibility for best of the era.
No-one has that moniker nailed yet. He's an outside shot right now but a win against Usyk puts him right in that equation again.
Then it likely comes down to Fury. Beat Usyk and beat Fury and he's the one. And I've always thought he's exactly wrong for Fury, probably more so than any other fighter. Unfortunately I think Usyk is exactly wrong for AJ.
I hope AJ beats Usyk, but if he does the same as last time........
Could you clarify what you mean by " is exactly wrong for Fury"? How is that? I view that fight as Fury favored in every possible way, superior boxer, taller, heavier and last and most importantly: heart and grit, two things AJ lacks nowadays. He used to have it when he was fighting Wladimir but for some reason in the fights vs Ruiz and Usyk there was just no passion in his boxing, there was no "I am going to maul this cruiserweight" mentality.
Has AJ been Conor McGregored? Too much money and success?
Great thread. I have also been a boxing fan / boxer since pretty much forever and I have noticed this same thing.
I personally don't give a damn, I view the promoters the same way I do lawyers....... rats and leeches.
Seems like many people here are fans of promoters / promotions which is very odd.
I look at it from a boxing stand point. Some fans who don't box look at it from an entertainment stand point.
If the fighter is "running around" the fans aren't entertained. They enjoy brutal slugfests. They cannot appreciate the art of boxing and the technical aspects of it. That is the issue I believe, when fans are saying someone 'ran' it means they didn't engage in a spartan like display of sluggery that the fan wished to see.
I like a slugfest as well, but from a boxer point of view, I would not value people's entertainment over my health. Blocking shots with your face like Mayorga and taunting may be exciting, but your brains aren't as excited and its just not boxing. Hit and dont get hit is the name of the game
Is he an alpha male or a cuck pretending?
This is the same lad that said he wants to literally bodybag someone and then in the next sentence wants a man to impregnate him.
Either way he’s entertaining and boxing needs characters so hopefully he comes back and regains the vacant belt Fury left behind.
Usually the hyper masculine types are playing the role due to insecurities they may have. I know because I was like that, you are like a walking stereotype and the only people who respect you are the fools with a similar mindset. "Keeping it real" while being the fakest guy in the room.
The female equivalent of this is the instagram "model" who supports whatever current thing is trending and is a "bad bitch" with a disposable personality.
Unfortunately there are many people who never grow up and continue acting like this.
I would love to see Wilder return to the ring, he is a very entertaining character and his fights are always entertaining.
It’s popularity first and foremost
Which country are your family from if you don’t mind me asking?
Moldova. It is a country next to Ukraine and Romania.
I think Usyk stops him.
AJ is going to fall apart as soon as he starts getting tagged.
He doesn’t have the stamina/durability to fight how he needs to.
I hope AJ wins cause I really want to see Fury beat him, that is the fight we have been waiting for, AJ - Fury. Unfortunately Usyk is very skilled and now with the country of Ukraine on his back, he may be inspired to go for the stoppage this time.
"when people bring religion or racism into something I think it’s all bollocks’" line has me livid.
I see it this way as well, the race and religion cards are the easy R-words to throw around nowadays for some pity points and as an excuse for your failure as a man
Nice.
How’s life for gypsies there? I’ve heard things can be a little rough for you guys
We are still really poor, poorest people in the poorest country of Europe. But I believe future is going to be better, a lot of people in this generation are getting more into society and are less isolated so I think that is really good.
People don't like us here but I personally don't have issues with anyone, once people get to know you, you are good to go.
Where are you from brother?
they arent athletic at all, whether thats due to curry or genetics i dont know. india has 1.68 billion people alone and they barely win a medal at the olympics and their football team is beyond ****. dont tell me its because they only like cricket cause theres plenty who follow football over here and play at local level.
I am "Indian" myself. I put Indian in quotes as I am https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romani_people Romani. (Or "Gypsy", not the white irish gypsy, but an ethnic one. Not to be confused with Romanians, an unrelated ethnic group and nation)
"Linguistic and genetic evidence suggests that the Roma originated in the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent; in particular, the Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab regions of modern-day India"
So for that reason I do not think it would be racist for me to say, true, I agree with your statement. I don't know if this is genetic or related to diet in India. I grew up on a western diet and I am 6 ft 2 which is way above the average height of a regular indian guy and I have also boxed for years.
My guess is that it is a combination of diet and culture, I wish we had some people here who actually live in India who could give a proper educated guess on this subject, but the numbers are stunning. How many boxing champions out of 1,6 bilion people? You can say boxing isn't popular in India, which it is not, but compare that to the amount of Irish people or African Americans or Mexicans who have become champions?
